Part 2

Raman was so happy yet nervous the next day morning. He couldn't wait to see his Ishitha but he was nervous as he didn't know whether she would agree for this marraige or not.

"I love you a lot Ishitha. Today whatever happens I will confess my love to you. Please matarani make her agree too". He kept Ishitha's photo in his pocket near his heart and went downstairs to make his love his forever.

"Oh you came my puttar. See how handsome you look" said Thoshi happily.

"What maa? There's nothing like that. Let's go soon otherwise we'll miss the flight"

"Oh ho see someone is so in a hurry to meet his to be wife. See mumma bhai is blushing as well" said simmi teasing Raman.

"Simmi can't just keep your mouth shut. Always keep on blabbering nonsense" trying hard to hide his blush.

Romi came near Raman and kept his elbow on his shoulder and said "Bhai maa told us that she gave you her photo. Please show us nuh. Now as we're not going we won't be able to see our bhabhi. So show us her photo nuh bhai"

"What photo? I don't have. Papa, Maa let's go. Otherwise these two will keep on talking nonsense"

"See he's in such a hurry. And doesn't want to show the photo even. Too possessive bhai" said Romi teasingly while Thoshi scolded them for teasing Raman. Then Mr.&Mrs.Bhalla along with Raman went to Mumbai to visit the Iyers.

Ishitha was talking over phone with her best friend Mihika who lives in Delhi.

"Mihku I'm so nervous. What if this person likes me? You know nuh I will never love anyone else than him"

"Offo Ishu first you meet this guy will you. Nothing will happen. You tell the truth to this guy. Ask him to reject you. He will understand"

"Hope so. Thank you mihku"

"Ishu..." called out Vanditha.

"Ok mihku bhabhi is coming. I'll talk to you later. Bye"

"Ishu...you're still not ready? What are you doing baba? Come let's get ready soon before amma comes here and scold you"

"Ok bhabhi" said Ishitha faking a smile.

Soon Vanditha dressed Ishitha in a blue saree with minimal make up and simple jewellery. Vandu had tears in her eyes seeing Ishitha's beauty.

"Ishu you're looking gorgeous" said Vandu kissing her forehead.

"Thank you bhabhi"

"Ishu..." said amma standing near the door with tear filled eyes.

"Amma what happened?"

"See Vandu my little princess has grown up a lot now. See how beautiful she is"

"Haan amma. She's looking breathtaking today" said Vandu winking at Ishitha and went away.

Soon the Bhalla's arrived at the Iyer house and the Iyer's warmly welcomed them in.

After sometime Mrs.Iyer asked Vandu to bring Ishu to the hall. Vandu did Ishitha's final touch up which annoyed Ishitha a lot but let her do it for her happiness.

Finally Ishitha came to the hall with Vandu. She didn't look up even for once. She was seated near Mrs.Bhalla who praised her a lot. She felt the gaze of someone so she looked up to see Raman staring at her. She couldn't believe her eyes. She wanted someone to pinch her to make her realise that the man whom she secretly loved is really infront of her as the guy who has come to ask for her hand for marraige. Soon Mr.Iyer asked Vandu to take them to Ishitha's room to talk for sometime. Ishu wanted to run and hug her appa and thank him but was nervous whether Raman would agree or not. So she silently went to the room.

Once they were in the room Vandu went away and Ishitha went near the window and stood there without uttering a single word. Raman was looking at her mesmerised by her beauty. He took one breath and said "I love you"

Ishitha couldn't believe her ears. She turned around and stared at Raman.

"Yes it's true. I don't know whether you remember me or not but we've met before. And I fell in love with you that day. I didn't express anything as your my sister's friend and you were too young for a relationship"

Ishitha was so happy to hear it. But made a straight face and asked "Even now I'm young"

"Yeah but if not me your parents will make you marry someone else. So I'm here to make you mine. But I won't force you. It's your decision"

Ishitha was dancing inside herself. She hated the idea of marraige in her early age of 20. But she fell in love with Raman in the first sight. She was about to reply when Ishitha's bhabhi Vanditha came and informed them that their parents asked them to come.

Ishitha so wanted to confess her love to him but she went with Vanditha angry with their parents for disturbing them in the wrong time. Then she thought against it.

"He has to propose me properly. I need a nice proposal" she thought and went to the hall.

Raman was very sad and scared at the same time that he might loose his love. "Her expressions didn't convey that she likes me. But her eyes were filled with loved. Please matarani make my love mine"

"Oh here comes the two. So did your'll talk well" asked Mr.Iyer.

"What is appa asking? Did we have at least 5 minutes to talk? How nice appa is asking did your'll talk well" scolded Ishitha in her mind to her appa.

"Hmmm" answered Ishitha softly.

"Ok so Raman what do you think about Ishitha?" asked Mr.Bhalla.

"She's...good...papa..." stammered Raman.

"So what is your answer? Yes or No?"

"Yes..."

Everyone got so happy. Ishitha was on cloud nine while Raman was on a turmoil what Ishitha's answer would be.

"Ishu beta what is your answer?"

Ishitha all of a sudden felt so shy. She looked down and stared at the floor stammering which feared Raman even more.

After sometime Mrs.Iyer again asked "Ishu...answer nuh kanna"

"Arey madhu ji give her some time to decide. There's no need to hurry"

"But Om even Raman gave his answer nuh"

"But appa we'll give her some time if she wants" said Vandu coming near Ishitha and held her from her shoulders.

Ishitha turned around and said in Vandu's ear "Yes"

Vandu's eyes widen both with shock and happiness. She asked "Ishu..."

Ishitha nodded her head and looked down blushing hard while Vandu shouted "Ishu said yes too"

Raman was so shocked at first. Then when Mr.Iyer hugged him he realised that it is for real. He looked at Ishitha who was blushing hard looking down. He wanted to shout at the top of his voice and let the world know that he got his love. But he knew he need to control himself and he wanted to talk to her alone once again.

He saw her brother kissing her forehead blessing her for a happy life which made Raman have an urge to kiss her like that and twirl her around.

"Om your'll have to have lunch and go"

"But Vishwa it's still 10.30 there's so much time for lunch. We'll have lunch somewhere. Why so much trouble"

"Arey what are you saying? Now we're not just friends we're also relatives. Your'll will have lunch and go. We'll call the pandit and fix the date for the engagement too"

"Oh that's a good idea"

Raman thought for a while and asked "Uncle can I take Ishitha out for lunch?"

"Oh that will be good. Your'll can talk to each other also. Now your'll must have lots to talk right? So your'll go out"

"Ishu go with Raman beta"

Ishitha nodded and went with Raman. The journey was silent where Ishitha was so shy unlike her normal behaviour. Raman was stealing glances at her and smiling to himself like an idiot. They went to a beautiful place with a lake nearby and the place was so romantic. They sat on a bench where there were less people and was silent for sometime when Raman broke the silence.

"Ishitha..."

"Hmmm"

"You didn't answer my question eventhough you answered appa"

Ishitha knew well what he was talking about but she smiled and looked the otherside. In the next moment she felt Raman kneeling down infront of her taking her hand which made her stand up automatically. She was shocked to see Raman like this.

He said "I know today is the second day we met. We didn't talk during our first meet but to be honest I don't know how but I fell in love with you the moment I saw you.You occupied my life after that wonderful day. And all I could think about was you. I promise you I will keep you happy always. I will always be near you in all needed times. I will never leave your hand. Miss Ishitha Iyer will you marry me?"

And he forwarded a beautiful diamond ring to her. She was crying by then. She forwarded her hand and said "Yes"

Raman slid the ring in her finger and hugged her standing up. She hugged him tight and said "I love you Raman"

Raman was so happy to here the 3 magical words from her mouth he immediately scooped her in his arms and twirled her around making her laugh in happiness.
