Hi guys!! So finally I'm back!! Sorry for keeping you waiting for long!! And sorry in advance if chapter is not that good.CHAPTER 9:THE REUNIONIshani had never thought that those words could be that beautiful,life changing.
"She is right, I'm here".
How simple were the words but had huge impact. At this instance, they meant a whole world to her. Her gaze quickly followed the direction of voice. There, at the distance of few footsteps, was a young man supporting Ranveer by his shoulders to prevent the fall. Ranveer was looking at her with his puppy eyes which were teary now and full of nothing but love.
" is...ish...ishani! "Ranveer stammered and tried to advance towards her. It was only due to Saurabh he didn't hit the ground.
" Ranveer! Ranveer!"
Ishani was unable to speak anything else. She removed her hands from lily's clasp in a swift move and rushed towards Ranveer as fast as possible. She hugged Ranveer tightly, letting herself lost in his embrace. Ranveer stumbled as ishani embraced him due to the sudden weight on him. But he too, reciprocated equally, holding her tightly to his torso. He let himself took in the smell of her hairs, vanilla, as always. He felt extraordinarily calm being in her embrace, feeling her breath on his chest. He tried to took ishani in his arms by separating from embrace but she didn't leaved her vice like grip on him. Sensing it, he simply let her hug him tightly, saying soothing words to calm her.
"Ishani, your Ranveer is here and will never leave you alone again. Everything will be fine. Just hold yourself. You know I love you, hmm? I'm really here, and I promise I'll never ever go away from you. Understood it? "
Ishani was still unable to believe that it was all true. She feared that if she let Ranveer out of embrace, he would be gone like few moments ago. With every passing moment, they cuddled even more to each other,crying out their hearts. The world beside them seemed to disappear to them. If anything they were aware of this moment, it was the other in their embrace.
Ishani had always believed the saying, "While there is life there is hope," but after Ranveer had gone, she had realized that it had exactly reverse meaning."While there is hope there is life."
Hope comes first, life follows. Ranveer had been her hope and it had became her reason to live. Had it not been her hope, maybe tiny one, she wouldn't have been able to live. The hope that her heart clinched at, the hope that Ranveer's letter gave her when she was on verge of death, when death looked easy to her than life.
Today her hope had won, something which she had never thought of. Her Ranveer was here in her embrace, like old times, saying soothing words to console her, to calm her. Suddenly world looked like heaven which it hadn't since long. All her pains,sorrows seemed fading away as the fog does when sun light comes in the morning. It all felt like a blissful dream but, even if it was a dream, she wanted it never to end.she could feel the fountain of happiness erupting in her heart .she let herself drown in the endless ocean of happiness she had found in his arms.She closed her eyes so that she could hear his heartbeats as fresh as ever,close, so close to her like her own heartbeats beating in a rhythm saying " Love You".
Ranveer could ask for nothing much than this eternal moment of his life. He had finally managed to reach ishani. After so many days of longing, he had gotten back his ishani, his life. His life which had almost freezed before two years,now seemed to be coming to normal again. He knew that so many issues were there which were to be sorted but he didn't care about them anymore. Ishani was with him and nothing else mattered to him.he had gotten his ishani, his best friend, his wife,his life back. He let himself cuddle more closely as his tears flowed down his cheeks continuously.
Both of them had been lost in each other so much that they forgot the world surrounding them .but Saurabh and lily had not. Saurabh walked past both of them to meet lily.
Lily was staring in disbelief towards ishani and Ranveer. She then spotted Saurabh coming towards her.
"Hi,I'm Saurabh. I'm with him", pointing to Ranveer ,Saurabh said," are you with her? You know ishani? "
"Yes, in fact she lives with us. I'm lily.Is he her husband? He was dead few years back. How could this be possible?" Lily asked Saurabh. She was still not able to accept this, though she would be happy if it happens.
"Oh that! You must have not watched news today, correct? He is on front page of almost every paper. Actually he had not died on that day."
Lily listened intently as Saurabh further told her everything that had happened in short.
She nodded,"I'm very much happy for them.they love each other so much.just look at them. How happy they are being with each other. It feels good to watch them like this. How stupid I was to think that it was illusion of ishani!she never told us his name. Else I would have made sure that she comes to know this. Actually I had seen the news in morning but I didn't knew it was him."
"Anyways whatever happens, happens for good. Had you told her earlier, this would not have been a surprise to her."
"But where he had gone after she saw him. When I looked, he was not there."
Lily asked curiously. This question was in her mind since she had seen Ranveer.
"Actually when you turned ishani to you, Ranveer had fainted. He was weak,still the moment we came to know that ishani could be here, he decided to come here.love gives us enormous strength when it comes to our loved ones. Good that I too came with him. When he told me that ishani is here, I took him to her.after that you know everything." Saurabh explained.
Lily nodded in comprehension.
Ishani lifted her head from Ranveer's chest to look at him.
"Are you really here? Speak ranveer! You will never go back ,na? I...I love you so much,Ranveer.I will never ever do anything like that, please don't go away." Her voice cracked due to lump forming in her throat.
Ranveer stared lovingly in her eyes that were transfixed on his.he smiled through the tears and caressed her face,slowly and gently wiping her tears.he assured her, putting together as much love as he could.
"Ishani, I love you too. And believe me, I will never ever even think about going away from you, I promise. My love didn't let me die and your love gave me courage to fight for my life. Ishani it was your love that has brought me back from death.so stop blaming yourself for all that happened."
"Ranveer,you will not understand it.It's easy for you to say this because you love me and I know you will forgive me for everything. But I can't forgive myself.I don't think I will be able to do so.how could I after knowing that I was the reason you went to...to." Ishani could not speak further. It was very painful to even think about it.
"Ishani, ishani, why don't you understand? What you are thinking is not true, it never was. How could you even think I would want to die when I know that you love me! Ishani, knowing this is enough for me to live. Everything else doesn't matter much to me. You were never the reason and you will never be.Do you understand that?now please stop blaming yourself. In fact I should blame myself for your condition. I should have thought earlier. But then I was such a fool to leave that note like that."
Ranveer still regretted that moment when he hurriedly left home leaving the note on table in his room.
"What... What do you mean?you never had gone to ..to..." Ishani was dumbstruck at relevation.
"Yes ishani, I never had.believe me.how could I when I know that you cannot live without me. Look what have you done to yourself! I'm to be blamed for this."
"But I had seen myself that you... You fell down the cliff" Ishani shivered as she remembered it.
"I had not jumped myself, ishani! It was some goons who pushed me.they were hidden behind bushes so no one could see them. Let it go ,ishani. We could talk about it later. "Ranveer felt tired to speak.
Suddenly he lost his balance again but Ishani firmly holded him.she slapped herself mentally to allow him to stand like this when she had seen him loose balance earlier.
"Ranveer, are you ok? Come ,sit here." Concerned ,ishani brought Ranveer to roadside where benches were kept for those who wanted to stop for a while .she helped him to sit on the one and took seat next to him. She looked at him worriedly. He looked tired and pale. She now noticed small scar on his right temple.it was small but sometime back it must have been deep injury. She caressed it with her fingertips gently.
"It doesn't hurt anymore. Don't worry too much, ishani! I'm fine.absolutely fine." Ranveer spoke as he observed her face.
"Oh yes!you are fine!" Ishani mocked Ranveer ,fuming," do you think it's a joke?you are not able to stand properly and you are saying that you are fine.no,you are not fine.just look at yourself. Anyone would tell you that you are tired. What was need to come here if you were not feeling well? You could have informed me,instead. "Ishani hadn't intended to be angry on Ranveer but his casual attitude drove her out of control.
" really? And what on the earth, are you doing here? You are saying as if you had told everyone back in India that you are here." Ranveer couldn't suppress his anger too.
Ishani went silent at this. She lowered her gaze from Ranveer's eyes. Ranveer had finally asked what she had feared.
Ranveer, I...I wanted to go away from everything that would remind me of... Of past."ishani said guiltily, her head also lowered down.
" or of me,right?"Ranveer said glaring at her,curiously more than angrily.
Ishani lifted up her head and looked straight in Ranveer's eyes.
"I could never do that,even if I tried to. You are like a breath to me. How can I ever do that? You have no idea how I was living all these years. How could you even think of it?" Ishani said,tears rolling down her cheeks, her agony visible through the words.
Ranveer realized mistake he had made .he had tried to push her off limits without realizing that she was not ready,could never be in this condition. He looked at ishani who was now crying silently,her head away from his. He regretted asking ishani something he knew she would never think of. Since childhood he could never see her crying or even sad and here she was sad again due to him. He became enraged at himself for not giving a thought it before.
He gently pulled ishani in his embrace and kept her head on his chest. He began to caress her hairs lovingly.
"Ishani I... I am sorry. I should not have asked you that.please stop crying now. You know na,I hate it when you cry.please."
Ishani suddenly stopped crying and stared at Ranveer.
"You know everything, don't you? Everything that happened in India, in Mumbai?",ishani said sharply." Where were you all this time? Testing me or something else, huh?"
" yes ,I know. Disha told me everything. Ishani I don't care what happened in India. I only know that I love you and you love me. Ishani I was in coma.after that incident two years ago, Saurabh brought me to hospital. I was in his house all these days. But when I woke up, I knew I had to come to you. But they told me you leaved country and no one knows where you are. But I found you and I am here. I...I just said that because... "
"Because you wanted to know why I came here." Ishani completed the sentence." you trust me so much, don't you?"
Ranveer slowly cupped Ishani's face.he smiled at her, "I am not idiot not to trust you again, am I?I have done that mistake once,and I am not going to repeat it at any cost.I know if you have done anything, there must be some reason behind it.you know what, even if you leaved me,I will not stop believing and trusting in our love. So don't even try to lie to me again. You have done that before and I must say, quite realistically. But now ,it will never work on me.got that?", Ranveer sighed and pulled her again in his arms.
Ishani weeped uncontrollably. She had feared of Ranveer misunderstanding her and leaving her.that's what probably anyone would have done, but now, after knowing how Ranveer trusted her,she felt so overcome with emotions.Ranveer knew that ishani needed assurance of his love for her this moment and he was not going to test her or ask her anymore.
After some time which seemed like eternal,ishani lifted her head once again.
" Ranveer, let's go from here. You.. You are weak. You need rest.we can talk later when you will be alright. I am taking you away from this place, right now.",ishani stood up, helping Ranveer to do the same.
"Wait! I need to tell Saurabh first. We will have to take him with us.he has been a great friend to me all these days." Ranveer began to look for saurabh.
"He's same one na, who saved you?",ishani said, more of statement than question.
" sorry to disturb you both! Yeah that's right. I'm the same one. So,what's next?",saurabh asked ,coming towards both of them with lily.
"I think, we have to get out of here, first.", Ranveer said,looking towards ishani," that's OK?"
Ishani nodded and gave him a smile he was yearning for long. It was perhaps first smile she had from her heart in two years. Ranveer too,beamed happily.
He turned towards saurabh and gestured him.
"Oh yeah!I got it.I will get car to entrance in 5 minutes. See you there!", Saurabh hurried left from there.
" I think I too,should come with you.wait for me at entrance. I'll be there straight after I tell mom,ok?",not giving chance to ishani to stop her,lily too,went away.
Ranveer looked at ishani questioningly.
She's my friend. I live at her house."ishani explained.
" ok then. Let's go. For you. Actually I am loving this atmosphere, full of colours.I would like to stay here.",Ranveer said nostalgically, reminiscing their childhood," ok,ok, I am coming. For my health, ok?",Ranveer relented as ishani glared at him.
"It's not been even a hour and she is bossing me.god,help me.save me from her.", Ranveer muttered under his breath.
" Ranveer stop talking to yourself. And no one is going to save you from me, understood! ",ishani took hold of Ranveer by arms and they started out for entrance.
Ranveer slapped himself mentally for mumbling it little loud,while ishani smirked at him.
Both made their way out from the colourful world around them, their hearts ablaze with joy which was long lost.and while they were unsure of what will happen next, they knew one thing for sure.love was the best thing that had ever happened with them.
