Chapter # 3 - The Goodbye Hug
Rani laughed out loud and said "It's the third time you did not show up on your concert so i was very angry". Embarrassed Rani rolled her eyes down, "I'm sorr-" "No need for that", Prince cut Rani "I had my reasons girl", a frown nappeared on his face vanishing his smile. Rani was surprised to hear this. She replied, "What reasons?". He slowly moved towards her and placed his hands on her face. He move closer and closer. Rani was standing all still not able to believe all this was happening. It was only in her dreams that she would ever be kissed by her crush, her love. Close enough to kiss her, just before he actually did, Prince whispered, "You would not want to know", and steadily moved back. Rani was not sure how to react. She mumbled to let Prince question "What?" "I want to know", Rani stated, holding back her nerve.
The insistence made Prince to respond so he moved his hand to his pocket to take out something. Rani's eagerly awaited eyes were surprised to see him taking out photo of a beautiful girl with adorable smile and long pitch black hair, out of the pocket. Rani could not resist from asking Prince who was that girl. As soon as Rani put the question forward, Prince went ahead to answer, "She...she is everything to me. The reason I live, the reason I earn. She is the girl whom i love the most. She is my-" *Tring Tring*, rang Prince's cellphone, interrupting his emotional confession about the girl. Unfortunately, he could not talk as the battery ran out so he borrowed Rani's cellphone to call back.
It took a moment for Prince to panic and rush to exit of jungle as soon as he dropped the call. Rani was stunned to realize Prince was going to leave her alone in the jungle when he ran towards the road. Thankfully, it was just her misconception when she heard him shouting from a distance, "Come on Rani! Don't waste my time. I have to go and I cannot leave you in this place alone so hurry up and follow me!". Rani swiftly followed Prince out of the woods.
Soon after reaching the highway, Prince offered Rani a ride to her home but Rani refused. Prince asked astonishingly, "Why are you refusing me to drop you home when you know there will be no safe local transport at this part of night?". Rani smiled at his question giving him a goodbye hug and left the place in an auto rickshaw. Prince had no time to think over what just happened and drove off to his destination.
Later that night, lying on bed with purple silky sheet, wrapped in sleek quilt, cuddling the teddy, Rani kept thinking about the beautiful night spent with her love. Turning all red, she still blushed at how her hero came so much close to her leaving no walls in between. It was a lovely recalling of moments which was continuously being interrupted by thought of the girl who was there in the photo. She wasn't sure of latter's identity and did not want to believe that her crush was in love with someone else. This went on for hours and she helplessly continued to think of her first and last meeting with Prince. She knew it was never going to happen again; she had not had his number nor address or any other means to contact him. "Oh my God I am in love with Prince but I have no idea how to contact him. I got and lost him forever", Rani murmured, dropping a tear from her eyes and falling asleep.
