Mr Malhotra will see you now Part 16

We sit in the back as I hold Nandini's hand in mine. I gently skim my thumb across her knuckles absently. Then I realize that she's quite nervous looking outside the window, barely containing her self. "Relax baby am there with you am sure they will love you" I gently take her hand and kiss each of her knuckles softly and then gently place a kiss on her forehead she snuggled in to me I know I can feel it, it's too much for her meeting my parents but it's her only who has the right to meet them she looks at me and smiles making me smile back at her. "So what can we expect at this event?" she asks. I know she wants to be clear with everything so I tell her "the usual stuff," I say. I smile lovingly at her and kiss her hand again. "Lots of people, dinner, dancing my mother know how to throw a party" I say smiling at her. When we arrive at the Malhotra mansion, there is a long line of expensive cars leading up the driveway. There are long lanterns hanging over the driveway. She glances at me. "Told ya my mother know how to throw a party" I look at her she's an incredible sight to see, and I would hate to have other men's eyes on her here tonight as she's incredibly stunning. Aryaman pulls into the driveway, and a valet opens my door. I move towards her and open Nandini's door. "Ready?" I ask. "For you yes" she smiles "so I am for you" I wink "as much as I want you to me we have to be at this party too ..let's go".

"You look beautiful Nandini" I say kissing her cheek making her blush I need to be sane around her because I know I can lose easily when she is near me we walk towards the lawn a blue carpet runs along the lawn to the one side of the house leading the path to the grounds in the back. I have a possessive arm around Nandini as my hand rests on her waist and we move towards the party area the whole ground was decorated in white and golden being my mother's favorite color golden lanterns hanged on the dance floor along with the tables to sit white orchards were set on each and every table may of the guests have already arrived press was also present flashes were everywhere Nandini was trying to consume herself she have been to such parties as work profile but she was nervous for obvious reasons being my parents.

As we moved I saw Mom standing with Mukti she looked at me coming with Nandini and smiled. Mukti came and hugged me and nandini "am so glad you made it bro" she said "how can I not you know how mom is" I winked at her she smiled and mom made a face as usual she gets so irritated when I tease her "an so glad you came nandini" said mukti "of course anything for him" as the words came out of her mouth she realized what she said and I look at her with open shocked eyes and saw mom and mukti stealing glances and smiled "I mean to say..." she tried to explain "well she meant she did it for me right Nandini" how can I miss this chance to tease her she looked at me with anger giving a look to stop I give her a hug pulling her towards me which again was not gone un noticed by my sister and mother but I don't care she is mine and I can be this way with her "mom this is Nandini Oberio" my mom smiles touches my cheeks and move towards nandini and hugged her this indicated me she was happy finally I have someone in my life "glad to meet you Nandini heard so much about you" she was bit taken back and so was I then I realized how can my kiddo keep quite too talkative she is. "She is beautiful Manik" I smile as my mom says that "yes she is" I say looking into her eyes. "Come guys everyone is waiting" says mukti and we walk in

we move towards the sitting area Dhruv was already there and was talking to some girl she must be the girl he was talking about "hey bro" I call him as he turn around "Alya OMG" shouted Nandini "Nandini OMG" shouted Alya and they hugged each other Wow! That is some serious special' She drops the diamond and stands back to eye me up. Look at you! Someone has been thoroughly spoilt today' she laughs. Of course she deserves everything even spoiling. What about you?' she grabs her hands and hold them out to the side. I love the dress but wait a min what are you doing here" she asked "I told you about my date a few days back well that was with Dhruv" I look at Dhruv and he winks at me making me roll my eyes "hi Nandini nice to see you again" said Dhruv walking towards her and hugging her making me fume in anger he did that purposely he knew I won't like it "how are you" nandini was startled and she looked at me knowing how possessive I am "okay bro.." I say and moved them apart an took her back in my arms dhruv laughed knowing me and nandini just smiled when yash arrived "what's going on kids" we looked around to see him standing "manik am so happy you came" he came towards me and before he could hug me I offer him my hand as he knows how I am he returns by shaking it and moved towards nandini "who is this pretty girl" "this is nandini" yash offers her a hand and she takes it "nandini this is Yash Dhawan as in Dhruv and Mukti's father" she nods "glad to meet you Mr Dhawan" "oh please call me Yash as Manik does" he smiles just when mom shows up Nandini wanted to ask about Yash I sensed in her eyes I give her a look I will tell her later on which she agreed.

Nandini POV

The party was amazing and apparently Manik's family seemed really nice and loving that reminded me of Alya is with Dhruv that was a shocker but she is happy as I see her talking to him he was saying something in her ear making her blush which made me smile i am happy for her finally she has a guy which makes her happy. Manik moved to talk to some associate and left me standing. Soft jazz is playing in the background and the sound of happy chatter is prominent in the air. The men all look fine in tuxes and suits and the woman have all gone to town in various gowns and cocktail dresses. I took a wine glass and took a sip gazing at the place. I exhale and relax when I feel arms on my waist his fresh water, minty loveliness drift into my nose. Where has he been? His chin rests on my shoulder. I have neglected you' I crane my neck to see him. Yes you have where have you been?' I ask "I couldn't get two yards without people meeting me. I'm all yours now I promise'

He pushes his front into my back and hugs me and drop a kiss on my back "manik not here" I shiver with his touch "why nandini am I troubling you" she asks kissing me again "guys we are in a crowd" said mukti coming towards us and manik straighten himself "leave them mukti he already has her and here I am all alone" we turn to see it was none other than cabir manik makes a face with his comment and I knew this was coming "hi buddy" he came and hugged manik "what are you doing over here" he asks him on which I eyes him, cabir moved towards me "nandini" and before he could hug me manik stepped in "okay she is fine you can say hi from here" hearing this everyone laughed including me though I love manik's possessiveness and jealousy but still I don't want him to hurt his friend "hi cabir am good how are you" I shake his hand and he starts his flirting on which I looked at manik he was getting angry I placed my hand on his chest "am yours only" he looks at me "mine" "only yours" he smile seeing him I smile "you are my..." before he could complete everyone was called on the dance floor and the topic was left in between. "May I have the honor of dancing with you my angel" I smile as he offers his hand too I see around everyone was eyeing me "you may" as I place my hand on his I notice manik's mom was smiling so was mukti and Dhruv they seem happy seeing manik this way.

We move towards the dance floor and the song "breathe again by Sara Bareilles" This song has a special meaning for us I smile down him, he takes me in her arms and we start gliding on the dance floor. We grin like fools to each other, young and carefree. "I love this song," I murmur gazing down at him. "it seems it is made for us" he says and then I feel his expression changing he is thinking something "manik all okay" I ask him "ya all good baby" and we continue dancing his eyes were totally on me and mine on his without breaking the gaze we move apart as the song end.

"now it's my time to dance with my brother" said mukti coming towards us with cabir "and I can dance with my girl finally in peace" said cabir smirking at manik I knew he won't stop flirting but to my utter amusement manik didn't said anything he just smiled and nodded to me and moved to dance with mukti and i danced with cabir "manik is changing it is all because of you Nandini" he said "changing?" I ask "he is happy am so glad he is" cabir says now this got me thinking about his words the other day "cabir can I ask you something" he looks at me "nandini I see you are falling for him and so is he you want to know the reason why is he so lonely?" I nod but more of a shock manik loves me too I eyed him he was smiling looking at me I smile a little "yes I want to know cabir he is not telling anything he said he will but I want to know" he smiles "you know nandini I know him from childhood we are best friends I have never seen him ever caring for a girl yet with you he is different the thing is it's not my secret to tell you I can just say one thing as your friend please trust him in every circumstance and never ever leave him he needs you" I listen to cabir's words when the song ended and we move apart but I was lost in his words when manik came towards me

"Finally I got my baby to me" he pulls me towards him I look at him all the thoughts of what cabir said came to me but before we could dance again a guy stepped in and asked "may I have the pleasure of dancing with this young lady" manik looked at him "Mr Sinha" he smiles at manik "sure why not" I look at manik he nods at me and move aside I start dancing with the man thinking about Manik only "so you are beautiful and pretty girl what is your name" he asks I was least interested but then he is linked with manik I can't ruin it "Nandini Oberio" "Oberio as in the girl who launched lusso" he ask "yes the very same" I smile he starts asking about more stuff how me and manik meet etc etc I looked at manik he was completely eyeing us and waiting for the song to end his hands were clutched as in he was only tolerating because he was his business associate as the song ended and before the man could ask me for another dance manik stepped in "I think one dance is more than enough" said manik with a stare the man smirks wickedly and left and I was back in my guy's arms "I so hate this man" this made me laugh he looks at me "yet you made me dance with him" "I didn't have a choice or else no one is allowed to touch my girl" he said in anger "so I am your girl now" he pulls me closer "only mine" I smile at his possessiveness and thank God he didn't kill the guy. "manik I need to use the rest room" he nods and we walk out from the dance floor. As I enter my mind was lost in words of cabir what is with manik? why is he like this? When will he let me in? I walked out seeing him standing on the railing seeing outside he turned and saw me looking at him I sensed something is wrong his eyes were red he was in pain. he walks towards me cups my face and his lips crashed on to mine. he was hungry for me as if he was kissing me for the last time I sensed the pain as he kissed me he sucked my lips with ultimate passion he bit and tore my tender skin with his teeth the kiss felt as if he was breaking the cord between us which was made in few days I felt my body dying inside I can sense something was really wrong. He was not willing to break it off but in sheer need of oxygen we moved apart not before him kissing me on my lips again and again making them swollen. I looked at him trying to understand what's wrong I placed my hand on his chest "what's wrong Manik?" I ask him he stares at me "let's go home you have exams" he said moving away. He took my hand and we walked out I didn't ask anything because I knew he won't tell me. "But you parents?" he didn't answer and we walk towards the car. On the whole way home he was quite not uttering a word I knew something big must have happened.

As we reached home he straight went to his study leaving me standing in the hallway and closed the door. I let him be alone but the thought which scared me more was he shutting me out? Was he ending what we have? I wanted to cry out loud I am in love with him and he is not telling me anything what is wrong with him. I walk passed the study towards the room get changed and hop on the bed I didn't even realize when sleep took over me and i drown into the deep slumber.
