CHAPTER 7- MY HEART STAYS WITH YOU
"Jiju!!!", disha grasped," you...you are alive!!!" She couldn't believe what she was seeing before her. Her jiju,Ishani's husband, Ranveer was seating on bed,barely few feets away from her. She was shocked and confused. She could not understand what to say. She simply stood there, watching Ranveer who was in turn, greeting them with a small smile on his face. He hasn't changed much, was the thought that crossed her mind.
Condition of the other two was no different than her. They had been stunned to watch Ranveer smiling at them. Shikhar was unable to think anything. But he knew one thing that somewhere in his heart, happiness was coming back. He had felt like someone had slapped him hard. He had scarified his love for the sake of his love as her happiness had always been with RV. He only wanted her to be happy, because whenever he had seen her, she had been sad.he had realized later that she had always loved RV. He was ashamed of himself for ignoring the truth. He had always known that but he had became so selfish that he simply chose to ignore it,causing the pain to ishani and his friend RV. He had then apologized to the both of them. He wanted to repent of his actions, and for that he had decided to always support them,to help them as much as possible. He was happy that ishani was finally happy with RV.
But when she had heard about RV's death,it had been devastating for her. He had never seen her like that before. He had tried to console her but she had gone beyond all of this. He had then prayed from the core of his heart for RV,to keep him safe and secure, for her.
But he had never thought that his prayer would be heard after everything was proved true.after Ranveer was declared dead. What he was watching before him was a miracle! Puneet was also surprised but he managed to come back to his senses at first.
Ranveer was expecting the reaction but not up to this extent. He simply smiled at them. Few minutes had passed in utter silence. He had begun to feel uneasy.
Puneet broke the silence that had spread in the room.
"Sir,we are happy that you are alive. If you had informed me earlier, I would have informed your family, would have done every thing that was left previous time."
Disha and shikhar also came to senses. Disha was curious about what he was speaking but it could wait. She now came forward.
"Jiju! You were alive! Why didn't you Even tried to tell us that? And what do you wanted to prove by going for suicide like that! How could you Even think of it! You have to explain that, now!" Disha was unable to control herself. She had nearly shouted at Ranveer but she couldn't help it.she had kept so much to herself and now she wanted answers to the questions that had always nudged her.
"Disha,please listen to me." Ranveer said uneasily, "You know me. I would never do it. It was a part of my plan. I had to do it. But trust me I hadn't intended for anything like that."
Disha was dumbstruck at the relevation for she had closely seen the heart wrenching pain ishani had gone through. She was shocked to know this.she had not expected something like this.
"How could you? Do you Even loved ishani? Do you know what you have done! Writing a stupid suicide note and all that was bullsheet? ," disha's voice now had reached to it's maximum. " You are saying that it was all your plan? Do you think it is a joke? You must know that ishani blamed herself for your death! She lost her reason to live, to laugh, to be happy! And now she has gone away, far away from everything! What you have done, jiju, what you have done!" Voice of disha crackled with emotions, with betrayal,with anger. Tears were freely falling from her eyes .
Ranveer was already regretting himself for doing such nonsense thing as leaving note behind him. But he had to do it in order to make HIM believe that he really intended to do it. But when he heard about ishani, he was heart broken. He had never thought that his actions taken for her protection will result in such a pain to her. He felt very guilty for what he had done. Seeing disha like this and thinking about ishani, brought tears to his eyes too.
"D...disha, I...I never wanted to let all this happen,I really not! I... I will find her, I will tell her that nothing is lost, That I will never leave her alone again. Please believe me." Ranveer's voice had also softened and filled with the guilt.
Saurabh had been standing silently all this time. But when he saw that things were going personal, he decided to leave.
"Hey, why don't you all take a seat on cushions? I will take leave now."
"No,Saurabh, you need not to go anywhere. You remember, I had promised to tell you everything about me. And RV never breaks his promise. You too, take a seat", Ranveer pointed to chair next to him. He had managed to put the mask of Normal expressions again.disha too, came to senses again and took seat next to shikhar.
Air in the room was now tensed.everyone was feeling the pressure that had developed in the room. Ranveer tried to break it.
" shikhar, how you two came to know about me? As far as I know puneet, he will not tell anyone about it."
"Actually puneet called disha to inform about some fraud in account. He asked her to check out it immediately by coming to office. So she called me to accompany her as manas has gone to Dubai for meeting. When we reached office, puneet received the call and we too,came to know about this." Shikhar explained to Ranveer. He had became a good friend of disha and manas in this period.
"Fraud?what is it?Tell us about it now, puneet.", Ranveer wanted to know more about it.
" Sir, actually someone has withdrawn big amount of money from your account. Ishani mam had instructed to not to close it. And whoever has done this knows all about it. He has accessed account without even once faltering in password or ID. I came across this when I was checking monthly expenses. I enquired about it and when I got complete report, I contacted disha mam as manas had told me to tell her anything regarding accounts. "
Ranveer began to think, and after some time asked puneet to give report to him. He wanted to know who is behind this.
"Sure, sir I have it in the car, I will bring it in two minutes, just two minutes sir!" Puneet left the room in hurry.
Shikhar who was silent listener from the moment he had entered the room,now broke the silence that had prevailed behind puneet.
"RV, I know that you are alive ,we all know that now. But, law asks for evidence.I know you would be able to provide them. But I think first thing you should do next morning, is go to police station to give your statement. Don't worry, I will manage after that. It's necessary for you as well as your company. Moreover, you will be able to be yourself without having to face any questions. You can leave wherever you want to go to find her."
"Ok shikhar, I will do that." Ranveer replied thinking to himself. He wondered from where he should start his search.
Puneet came to the room, catching his breath. He had almost ran all the way.
"Sir,this... This is the file. It has all details we could get."
Ranveer studied the file for a while. His expression which were normal at start,turned to one of curiosity and then ,into shocked one. This didn't went unnoticed by disha.
"What's the matter, jiju?", she was still angry with him but she couldn't remain silent when she watched the expressions of Ranveer.
" disha,it is same account! That means she has withdrawn the cash!disha ,do you understand it? We know where she is! We have found her,we have done it! "Ranveer smiled through the tears that were flowing down his cheeks.His smile was genuine this time like that of innocent child.
Silence spread in the room but it was silence just before the storm. Storm of happiness that had just befell on everyone present in the room. In the next moment, everyone in the room was cheering with joy. They had been never able to track ishani, because she had never done anything that could give them a clue.
" jiju!you are simply genius!! You found it out so easily! But what if it is not her?",disha spoke out her doubt.
"I have also thought about it, disha. But we can't leave the hope. I'm leaving tomorrow for France. To the 'nice' city.and I am going alone ".
" no way, you are going alone anywhere! I will come with you!"Disha didn't wanted to allow him to go in this condition.
" I have decided it and that is final!",Ranveer gave a look which she understood instantly but she was not one to accept the defeat so easily, moreover when it involves her jiju's well-being.
Saurabh knew it too,that Ranveer would not listen to anyone, but he also knew that if he goes in such a condition then he will only help in deteriorating his health.
"Ranveer, you said that you never breaks your promise, then fulfill it now.Take me along with you. Anyways, my holidays are starting in two days. So I am free for now.What you say? Remember, you had promised me to give whatever I want".
Disha and shikhar too,liked the idea. Arrangement would made sure that they get proper time to manage everything without worrying much about Ranveer. After all, it was Saurabh who had taken care of him all this time.
Ranveer was unable to say no to Saurabh, as he had promised him. He gave in to request of Saurabh.
" puneet, book two tickets for France. We'll leave tomorrow. "
'Ishani, I am coming back to you ,soon. I know what you are going through because you thinks you have lost your heart but it is safe with me. I'm coming ishani, to you, because, my heart too,stays with only you! I love you, ishani! More than my life!
seven hundred and ninety-four days.
That is how long I have been living, no,dying but not yet dead.my eyes kept seeing,my ears kept hearing,my heart kept up it's futile rhythms of pumping blood to my body. Everyone around me thought I was trying to come out of this sorrow but what they don't know is that I would never be able to come out of the endless dark abyss of this pain,this guilt,that stings me every minute of my life.because my heart has always been stayed with you, Ranveer!
"Hey ishani! You are here! And I searched whole house for you! "
Ishani was snapped back in the reality by Lily's voice. She had been standing in the balcony since returning from cafe. She was missing Ranveer very much today. The day too,went as usual. But while returning to the house, Ishani had witnessed a couple. Boy had proposed a good looking girl who looked very happy. She had been disturbed even more by this. So she had simply came in house and had been observing the moon.
" I...I'm sorry! I was just looking at the moon. "Ishani stammered, but managed to speak lie.she didn't wanted to let lily know that. Lily would become sad hearing that, and she didn't wanted it, when she was such excited and happy.
"Oh! Really ishani, the scene is fabulous! Ok,by the way I had came to tell you that we are going to one event two days after. And I will not listen to any of your excuses this time! You have already missed several functions and events.No,today you will listen to me.", lily stopped ishani from cutting her out." Ishani I know you hate formal functions like previous one we had to attain with mom. But trust me,this time it's going to be fun! Besides mom has agreed for it! So you better be prepared for this. "
"But what the event is about? And what about my appointments on the day? I also have to go to a charity event that day ,Alice told me before some time. No lily I am not coming."
"Ishani, it's a surprise for you!I wish you had given more attention to the things going on around here. But I am happy, at least my surprise will be surprise for you. You will not be able to guess it!" Lily said looking at ishani.
"No,please lily, I don't want to come. Besides I could not miss the meetings. I know you want me to come with you but I am really sorry for this!" Ishani didn't wanted to hurt her but she didn't wanted to go anywhere.
"Ok then! As you wish! I'm going to my room. Good night!",lily went to her room leaving ishani alone.
Ishani was surprised that lily had allowed her to not to come to event because every time she had denied coming, she had kept asking her till leaving leaving for the event. But today she easily and simply said OK? That too,was supposed to be a surprise! But she was glad that lily was not going to force her anymore.
Lily came in to her room and laughed loudly.
She even don't know that mom has told her to attain the same event I'm asking her for!
Lily was determined that she will bring ishani to the event. After all it was foreign version of the Indian festival and she wanted ishani to enjoy it, at least, try to.
