CHAPTER 7

We were both young when I first saw you.I close my eyes and the flashback starts I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air.See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns.See you make your way through the crowd And say, "Hello, " Little did I know...'

That was the song that was playing in the cafe. Swayam was gratified at the thought of him and Sharon sharing a cup of coffee talking about themselves. The song he heard made him even more buoyant.

The waiter came up to him and asked for his order, he asked the waiter for time and explained to him that he is awaiting a friend and would order as soon as she arrives. The waiter smiled and went back to the counter.

It was 7:25 and swayam was becoming anxious as the clock ticked and the minute hand closed to 30. He was obviously early. He was exhilarated by the this meeting of his and Sharon's.

The coffee shop too held many memories of theirs. 10 years ago it was the same place they went on their first date.

"It's 7:32!" Sharon growled.

"You are 5 minutes late!! This is the way you treat your date right?"

"wait! You say 32 and say I'm 5 minutes late? I'm just 2"

swayam stopped to that when he got the death glare from Sharon. He then thought the best way not to spoil the evening, is to admit his fictitious fault, Which was true according to Sharon and move on. He held his ears and apologised.

She smiled at his move and pulled his cheeks and vocalised an awww. He felt embarrassed as everyone present, had there gaze on them. The men hooted and the women clapped and chuckled. Even though they were just 15, they didn't look like kids. They looked like young adults.

Therefore nobody could reckon that they were school going kids. He led her to the seat and pulled the chair for her. He sat right opposite to her. He then enquired about what she would have and she vibrantly answered

" Chocolate mousse and Turkish coffee"

He placed her order and ordered an espresso for himself and came back and sat in his place. After sitting he spoke

"so, did you ever think you will come out for coffee with me?"

With a slight smirk. She rolled her eyes and replied

"You're just 15 years old, so it would be nice if you could flirt like the person of that age"

this comment sealed swayam's lips. He just put his gaze down and she had moment of laugh for herself. The waiter came with their order but while keeping the tray down, swayams coffee was feed to the floor.

The waiter was extremely guilty and apologised fearing his manager would get to know. The two assured him it was fine. The waiter asked for replacement, but that would take time. So swayam denied the offer.

Sharon took her coffee and then looked at swayam. She handed it over to him. Swayam didn't fathom as to what her action meant. Sharon shaked her head in negative and propounded to him to take her coffee and have a sip.

He finally decoded her move and accepted the offer. After having sip he placed it down. Her next act left him puzzled. She picked up the cup and helped herself with a sip.

He looked at her dumbfounded. She saw his change in expression and blushed. This blush made him drool. His heart flipped. The feelings now weren't in an eclipse. But preparation and surety was what they needed to take the next step.

The song was still playing and swayam was still smiling. His thoughts were broken by a touch on his shoulder he turned smiling wider but when he saw what he saw, his smile faded.

"Swayam,hello"

a girl of sharon's age hugged him and he reciprocated it.

"Hello, you here? I didn't expect to see you here?"

Swayam sounded disturbed by her presence. She continued speaking but swayam was only waiting for her. It was 7:40 and Sharon hadn't turned up. The girl continued with her talks and she was saying

"swayam, you know what I love you. I love you so much."

Sharon had just walked in when she heard all this. Her eyes became heavy. Her feet started trembling. She felt devastated. She didn't expect swayam to have moved on with someone else.

She left the cafe without waiting for swayam to notice. The girl continued saying

"I love you so much for taking mohit to the hospital. I wasn't in station and if not for you, then that idiot wouldn't have gone to the hospital. Thank you so much!"

Swayam smiled and turned towards the window where he saw Sharon walking away from the cafe. He got up and said

"Sana, I'll catch you later. Got an urgent work" "ok"

she replied and he left. While leaving the last words of the song made him smile again
