The actor was addicted to smoking pot
While Bollywood is usually reticent
when it comes to revealing their
experiments with drugs, Varun
Dhawan recently admitted to it.
The Dilwale actor told 9xe that he got
hooked to smoking pot while studying
in the United Kingdom.
It all started for David Dhawan's son
when he watched Christian Bale's
American Psycho- the film had such
an impact on him that he began
dressing up like the lead actor in the
film and started aping him as well. "I
know it sounds really silly in
hindsight but I was totally into it. I
kind of became like a groupie, would
wear loose T-shirts and all those
accessories... and hang out with my
friends deconstructing Psycho," he
said.
The actor carried on with the deed
long after he'd returned to Mumbai
and was studying in Mumbai's HR
College. "I think we all have this
phase. I was hooked to pot but then
eventually grew out of it. It is that
time in one's life where you are trying
everything. It was good fun," he
