Chapter 7

Next Day

The following days, Taani's schedule was filled with different interviews, promoting her new movie on different channels and meeting several people. Although her mind was busy all the time focusing on the questions of the interviewer but there wasn't a minute when Rey's voice would ring in her mind.

The very thought that he could fall in love with her made her kind of nervous. And not the scared nervous. She was excited about it. She didn't know why, how and when but for some reasons she felt that may be being with him she could live a normal life like she always wanted to live. A simple life away from shoot, dialogues, press meetings and article about her in the news.

"Next Mr. Bhatra ke saath interview hai Taani, wo thode irritating se sawaal puchenge but I know you'll handle it" said Sam as she flipped though her i-pad checking for any new updates on her schedule.

"Sam muje koi ek filmstar batao jisne kisi normal insaan se shaadi ki ho. Like you know, kisi actor ya actress ne non-celebs se shaadi ki ho."

Samentha looked up from her tab in a surprised expression, "Bohot hai. unhone sportsman ya businessman se shaadi ki"

"No" interrupted Taani, "unse bhi normal. completely different. "

Samentha sighed as she stared at the ceiling for few minutes trying to think of someone, "Nope, muje toh nai pata aisa koi"

Taani pressed her lips against each other and stared at the reporters who was getting ready for the shot.

" Bhatra ji, " called out Taani to the reporter who was busy focusing his camera, "aap toh reporter hai na. Sab khabar rakhte honge"

Samentha nervously looked at Taani and Mr.Bhatra who was nodding his head with a smile. Taani moved on her seat trying to get comfortable as she spoke, "Aap jante hai kya kisi celebrity ko jisne kisi aam admi se shaadi ki ho?"

Mr.Bhatra sat down as he nodded his head in atypical Indian way, "Kya bol rahi hai aap Taani ji. Famous Celebrities ko aam admi se baat karne ki fursat mile tab na! Ab apke irt girt Rithvik jaise ladke honge toh aam ladko ko bala koi kyu dekega"

He ended with a giggle and Taani just stared at the ground.

"So humara interview chalu kare Taani ji?" asked the reported as he passed on the mic to her, and all Taani did was nod with a smile.

Sitting lazily on the couch, Rey flipped through the channels trying to get over the fact that he litrelly proposed to Taani. The Taani Shikhawat. He brushed his hair as he himself didn't know how to react to this. He didnt know which part hurt him more, the fact that he proposed to someone who was way out of his league or the part where she walked away without saying a word.

"Shayad wo sochti hai ki main ek pagal fan hu. Main ek tharki sa fan hu jo tut pada uspe."

Mr.Radheshaam turned off the stove and looked at Rey through his reading glasses. "Koun kya sochti hai?" he asked in a confused tone.

"Maine usse kaha ki agar wo mujse baar baar milti rahe toh i'll fall in love with her" Spoke up Rey looking straight at the television.

Confused Radheshaam took a sip of his tea as he walked towards the window , "kounsi film ki line bol rahe ho tum?"

Rey sighed as he picked up the pillow and covered his face as he spoke, "Flop film hai ek. Hero heroine ko propose karta hai aur wo bina jawab diye chali jati hai. Ek number ki flop film"

Radheshaam giggled as he opened the newspaper, "ladka tumhare jaisa awara hoga, isiliye bhag gayi bichari ladki"

"Nahi toh" protested Rey, "ladke ke baap ka chota sa business hai. Haan utna bada business man nai hai par do time ka khana aur Holdidays mein Goa leke ja sakta hai wo puri family ko"

Radheshaam nodded his head, "Toh phir ladki mein khot hai"

"Radheshaam" interrupted Rey, "heroine ke bare mein kuch nai kehna! Wo sabse alag hai. Sabse acchi. Sab se khubsurat aur sab se massom. Khot toh ladke mein hai, uski aukad hi nai usse pyaar karne ki."

"Pyaar aukad dekke thodi karte hai. Wo toh bass ho jata hai"

Rey gulped as he looked at his father who had no idea what his son was upto. Rey was majorly confused. He himself told Taani that he didnt want to be friends with her and now that she walked away and probably will hate him, he is feeling bad about it.

High society parties were never Taani's favorite part to do. But here she was, wearing a perfectly fit, black long gown and messy hair duo. Standing next to her mother who was busy gossiping about a yesteryear actress who used to be competition to Avantika.

Taani nodded her head and began walking towards the other side when she crashed into Naira, a fellow actress who debuted the same time as Taani did. Her movie did well but unfortunately she couldn't win any awards as Taani was the showstealler and got majority of them.

"Taani, how are you doing?" Asked Naira in the nicest way possible.

Taani politely smiled, "Parties are not my cup of tea par ab industry se judi hai toh I guess it's a part of my job"

Naira looked around the place, "I agree. But glad ki even the guys are here. Rithvik se mili. Hes not like what people report about him. I found him pretty genuine. Tum toh uske saath kaam kar chuki ho na? Did he ever hit on you?"

Taani giggled as they both sat on a couch, "Not really"

"Oh come on Taani. kuch toh exciting news batao. I was working with Gautam Gulati and usne ek mauka nai choda to get closer to me. Ab uske paas contacts hai, wo back to back hits de chuka hai so I thought ki main thodi blush kar hi deti hu. And now look at me! Gulati ke influence se I have 4 films lined up."

Taani stared at Naira with a smile as she continued talking, "Meri mano aur tum bhi Gautam se friendhship kar hi lo. You're just 21 have some fun. Thodi galatiya karo, thode controversies mein fass jao. Yehi toh life hai Celebs ka. Yeh good girl image ko leke shaadi.com ke ad wale hi sign karenge tumko."

Naira grabbed Taani's hand and stood up, "Kab tak mumma's girl banke har waqt apni mom ke agey puiche ghumogi? Kabhi humare saath bhi aya karo. Tum ek adult ho. 2 film kar chuki ho. Already ek superstar ban chuki ho. I think its time to have some fun."

Taani looked at her mother who was busy chatting with some producers and then turned and glanced at Naira, "I guess you're right. Shayad main isiliye itna fed up hu Celebrity life se kyunki main thik se yeh life jii hi nai rahi."

Naira smiled and she pulled Taani and dragged her near Gautam Gulati.

"Hey Guatam, let me officialy introduce you to My new friend, Miss.Taani Shikhawat"

Taani shook hands with Gautam who was charming as ever. He wore a checkered blazer with his jeans on and had done his hair perfect. It was not even a second later when they all three walked out of the house and was morphed by the media.

They posed for the pictures where Gautam stood next to Taani and held her by her waist. Taani felt weird but she guessed this is what Celeb's life is supposed to be.

"Gautam hum aap dono ko pehli baar ek saath dekh rahe hai . Kya apko Taani mein ek nayi dost mil gayi?" asked a reporter

Gautam and Taani smiled at each other, "Dekhiye..." he paused for few seconds as he scratched his beard., " Taani iss industry mein bass abhi abhi ayi hai and i always like to be around freshers. Muje achi vibe milti hai unse so...yeah..ap keh sakte hai ki Taani mein muje ek nayi dost mil gayi"

"Taani madam kya wo mystery Terrace boy Gautam Gulati toh nahi the?"

All the reporter giggled, and were waiting for Taani's answer. But Taani was silent for few minutes,. She was standing infront of the media and wasnt sure what exactly is she supposed to say. Her mother had already reported that the girl in the picture wasnt Taani. And if she changes her statement here it would be another controversy,

" Main terrace pe thi hi nai. It wasnt me and muje nai pata wo ladka koun hai."

Gautam smiled and waved goodbye to the reporters as they entered his car. As soon as she sat in, her heart began pounding. What if Rey watches this interview? Will he think that she said all this cause he proposed and she just walked away? How will he react to it? will he understand like he always does?
