Say what a month stay of in laws😲 😲 😲
You are setting the stage my dear to bring in the bundle of joy and welcome it with due respect, love and happiness.
How can a daughter be happy mother if she is not contended as a daughter. This update to me was all about to forgive and forget. Avni wanting to mend the relation and do it right. Their conversation was just intriguing. Your story is proving that old proverb wrong:" Choru kachoru thay mavtar namavtar na thay" (Meaning: A kid can not act as a kid however there is no way that parents can not act as a parent)
Here the parents did not act as a parent at many levels and stages. Both were wrong however the child Khushi with golden heart acted like a real Kid👏

A family getting together and helping the couple to reduce time with some external push from a connection was the sight to be hold to. Small details of the family gathering that you have shown is worth a read Jigs😃 How a mother sees the change in the couple, the small gestures of everyone's comfort is too endearing.

Your teaser - Is that surprise Anjali's family in town?

If just the A word is making everyone glow, I am waiting to see what would an actual Pari (or a boy) would do to the family😃.

Arshi's banter is something I can never get tired of and the one out in the open is the best kind always😃. Especially the one which makes even the in-laws jaws drop😉.

And talking about in-laws, I am sure there is some saying out there on the lines of "The best husband is the one who could even convince his in-laws😊". As per me, he is a complete husband today😃.

Avni's introspection was long overdue and the much needed embrace may not erase the past but a few more that will sure will make the past more and more cloudy. I guess it all goes to show, hiding from your demons only extends the inevitable. The mother and daughter owed it themselves on this one.

Lastly, my two cents on the Indian system. Just like a coin everything has two sides there. I guess, our day depends on what call you made on the flip😃.

This is true story of one of my colleague who had to go to India for work traveling via England for a few weeks. She needed a British visa and an Indian visa for her trip.

As expected, with the British system, she got her visa in the exact number of days they have said it would be done and as expected, the Indian visa thing made her go in loops and took a lot longer than what she thought it would take. Needless to say, she was dreading her India trip based on this experience.

As fate would have it, three weeks before her trip, she realized that both the visas had her name wrongly printed. She was ready to drop the trip altogether but some of our prodding made her actually go ahead with it.

Dreading the Indian process, she approached the British agency first and to her astonishment, they listened to all her story and only responded with a "sorry, we need to go through the process". They told her that it would take a whole two weeks to get her passport back in the mail.

With holidays in between she finally got her passport just two days before her flight. She gave up all hopes of making her trip based on her prior experience with the Indian embassy. But, being the desi "Jugaad" guys we are, I literally accompanied her to the Indian embassy with the promise that we guys will figure out something.

True to our amazement, the guy at the counter listened to our problem, took her passport inside and came back after a few minutes and said we are all good. Not being sure on what he was saying, we opened the passport to the visa page and had our jaws dropped seeing that all he did was literally white out one letter from the visa page.

Seeing our W*F faces, he seemed to understand our dilemma and even before we could ask, he reached out and literally grabbed the passport from my friend's hand and walked inside again. Not being sure again, we were just bracing ourselves for the next wave of W*F.

Out came the guy with the passport again with a smile on his face and the look of an accomplishment. It did temporarily relieve our W*F faces but it was right back once we saw that all he did was sign his name next to the white out as if we were there to get his autograph. Sensing our double W*F faces now, he offered us the time tested solace that makes every problem go away - "No problem, sab chalta hai India mein".

With nothing much else to do we walked away from there with a nagging feeling of did we make it worse than before. Earlier someone could have missed that one extra letter in the name and now we have a white out and signature of the president of Jugaadville to go along that made sure the name gets highlighted even for the most unobserving kind.

After much difficulty and convincing, she got on the plane towards India dreading where she would finally end up. I am glad to say, once she landed in India, no one even cared to ask her about her visa name thingy and she enjoyed her stay so much in India, she made a few trips after that just for pleasure.

I guess the gist of my rant or more of an excuse for my story, was to convey my point that the system that is the slowest to move and that can cause you the utmost pain can also be the same one which can get something good done faster. Of course as I said earlier, it just depends on what call you made on the flip.

Coming back to the real story, eagerly looking forward to move on from the "A" word to the "P" word soon😃.

I don't want to cut a sorry face again jigs.. so, i'm here with my two cents😆
your first sentence made me 😆 the way Arnav was thinking listening to the word IN LAWS.. I guess this is the reaction with most of the husbands😉 but Arnav made sure that they are comfortable and I loved the way they were trying to help the couple with the adoption process..
As harshad said, this couple deserves happiness more than anyone😊 i'm glad with harshad's contacts the wait is going to be little less now...
so, avni has understood what she has lost all these yrs and trying to bring some normalcy in her relation with kushi.. good that therapy is helping her to gain her senses which she has lost long ago... but, I loved it when kushi tried to make her mother comfortable.. how can a daughter be without forgiving her mother when the mother apologises, how ever big the mistake may be😃
the best thing in this update is that these two are not wasting their alone time before the baby comes😉😆.. at this rate kushi might get the double good news.. fingers crossing😳
waiting for the baby now..
thanx for the pm jigs😊

"The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong."
Mahatma Gandhi, All Men are Brothers: Autobiographical Reflections

And Khushi is certainly strong, isn't she? She is such an inspiration...in everything she does. I was pretty unforgiving to Avni before, in my mind, she didn't deserve the forgiveness them, because she hadn't done anything to earn it at that point of time. But now, she is making a conscious choice, making an effort to fix what is broken, and that deserves forgiveness, and Khushi, being the sweetheart that she is, offers it up in a heartbeat, of course.

It was also great to see the changed equation between Arnav and his in-laws. It took them a bloody long time, but Devyani can not finally have the peace of heart that her bello is being given the respect and love he deserves.

You've portrayed the family in a beautiful light in this chapter, Jigs. The acceptance of Avni and Harshad when it came to the adoption, their desire to help in any way the can...isn't that what being a family means?

And the scene at the end, with Khushi and her mom, finally starting to heal the cracks in their relationship. This chapter had that element of hope and fresh beginnings that we all love so dearly, and that is what made it a great read.

Can't wait for what will be revealed to Khushi, and as a result, us, once the blindfold is removed on Friday ;)

Incredible update di...!!!
This part was all about the "second chances"...
Sometimes we need to "have" a second chance and sometimes we need to "give"...!!
I can't go way past the part where you described the conversation between Avni and khushi...
That was the highlight and one of the best scenes of this story for me...
Avni made a very great effort to talk and apologise to khushi... It was very emotional to read that... A Mother asking forgiveness from her daughter...!!
It's not easy to except or realise your mistake and when u do...its even more tough to seek sorry, especially from the younger one's... And Avni did that... It was very heartfelt and genuine...
I really loved her for that...!!!
Khushi and Arnav are rilli in a peaceful zone now...
Everything is falling into place...
They will soon have a baby of their own...
What a great journey...!!!!
This part especially made me love this story all over again...!!
Love to you for writing this amazing dear...
Plz continue soon
