Everyone has been made for some particular work and that work has been put in every heart! Rumi
First of all this place belongs to Ruchi. I am sorry, my love, for taking it from you. I love your generous heart for allowing this injustice to take place...

Jigs, I love your continuity. You know how to master the flow of your work, the detailing and the consistency of your characters points of view and their distinctive traits and quirks. You have either very detailed notes that you refer to from time to time to allow the events to glide seamlessly into one another and you must go over the chapters with an eagle eye to spot any particular sentences and statements that do not fit in the fluidity of the story. Or you also have a punctilious editor. Either way what a treat you have introduced us to.

In this chapter you take this even further. Everytime Khushi has touched something: the bedroom door, the kitchen island, sat at the steps of her house, the metal banister at her parents home, she has done so whilst being reminded of the most painful times in her life. She was trying to bring herself to smile and paper a smile over the agony she was going through...

Yet this time, when she touches the metal sign of vortex, the joy and the impatience to see her husband were accompanied by a beautiful memory. The smile was real and her joy indescribable as she was walking to meet him...

When they tried to eat together the morning after the party for Arnav's latest tower, they left their plates unfinished, alone in their thoughts and misery, one was looking for some tablets while the other was trying to cook...

This time they are together in preparing dinner, laying the table, welcoming the guests, enjoying each other's company. There's no desolation, just an awareness of their love and the anticipation of moving into a new phase in their life...

How can we not rejoice with them when you are removing all the despair and heartbreak in such a delightfully mesmerising manner? The point of change is described in such a wonderful implied viewpoint. If the description is coloured by both their viewpoints, it becomes in effect part of their character definition and allows us to see it as part of the action. That dinner was sumptuous, but for that mushroom...

One good deed deserves another...
We have seen throughout the story, how both Arnav and Khushi have helped their friends. Their selflessnes is being recognised now as Lavanya is trying to help them with their home study and moving this phase forward. We haven't been introduced to the particulars of this process, apart from knowing that their family and friends were interviewed. I guess we will find out how all of them will help them or if this will solve the last remaining anger and angst. I love how you leave those little alleyways in the story for us to ponder over which way you might develop them later...

Also, now is the time for Kabir to help them. His love story with Roshni (hush, resist for some more my little achy breaky heart, let's behave with dignity till the very end) is so lovingly and charmingly portrayed. Arnav was so gracious to allow Kabir to propose so beautifully by organising the tour for them. Now Roshni would be the link to fulfill their wish. When I put the quote from Rumi at the top of the comment , I just did it only for the word That, in hindsight I realise how apt it is for the chapter.

I see how carefully you have introduced the adoption process, the struggles they need to go through to have their own child. You have introduced the role Roshni plays so charmingly, but it gives another dimension to the whole process. The orphanages are full of children who for no fault of their own find themselves alone, unable to understand what is happening to them. The questions that they have have no satisfying answers sometimes. As they grow and get to know the world they are left even more hurt, as rarely people adopt children over 4 years old. These children are also more vulnerable to predators who trade in human trafficking, organ trafficking or just prostitution. The adoption process might seem long and tedious, even unfair to people who want to adopt, but it safeguards the children and parents from further problems, it tries and in most cases detects the flaws a couple might have and brings an end to their uncertainty. Let's not forget that there are cases where prospective parents realise that adoption is just not for them, the responsibility of brining a child in their lives doesn't seem enticing anymore. They back down...

Yet I know you'll do justice to this part of the story as well. Even making us think deeper about it, it makes you a crusader, in your efforts to make us see a different picture and react accordingly.

Like them, I am also impatient to meet their child...take it away my darling and work your magic on the rest of the story...

Res for "that" ;)

Kya se kya ban Gayi thi
Jigsji tere "That" Ki soch mein. 😭

What_the! Stuffed mushrooms? Really?!?!?! 😆

Unres for this 😳

"they warmly welcomed Kabir and Roshni inside their home"

This sentence so perfectly encapsulates the distance travelled by Arnav and Khushi over the last few months. It's "they", it's "their home" and together they're "welcoming" the iridescent light of hope.

Roshni embodies her name so beautifully. You can sense the serenity around her. Doing what she does is a calling, and her missing her children after a mere few days away demonstrates just how much she cares. Kabir and Roshni's "prem kahani" was so sweet! I loved how you showed the awareness between them through Khushi's eyes. Kabir's recounting of it was so cute. They do make a lovely couple ... sorry G :p somethings are "meant nothing" ... will a hug help my love? <3

Kabir proposing at the Tower with the world at their feet was lovely. A place begot of Arnav's passion was where Kabir and Roshni take the next step in their life together, and a place tended by Roshni's passion will be where Arnav and Khushi take theirs.

Friends do things for each other and are there for each other, but friends who take genuine joy in your happiness and feel your pain inside them touch you deeply. Lavanya's joy at her friend's news, her helplessness at not being able to make things better for her friends when they were going through a tough time, is immensely moving. Friends like these are a blessing and are one of life's greatest treasures. Reading that scene made me tearful. The incandescent joy in Lavanya at being the bearer of good new, the wonderment in Khushi at receiving it, was both so well brought out.

Such a perfect place to give Arnav the news. After all the rigours they've been through, finally the sun is visible over the horizon. I loved how you had Khushi tell him. Those tears in both their eyes and the unfettered rush of joy in his shout. You brought it all out so well. If I'm feeling so emotional right now, I don't know what I'll do when they finally hold their baby. I can't wait for them to feel that tender, peerless emotion of holding a piece of their heart.

Tche... Seriously? You mean That was that? Like really?

But seriously... That sounded so like ...

Ah well... what can I say? When one's imagine is fertile.. anything can grow..😉

Alright.. Alright.. Bas.. 😊 Now for the update.

Adoption - what a divine word.. and a sentiment. I, for one, have always believed that the real estate of our hearts is big enough to have room for one more to love and one more to receive that love. And I for one read that update with a film of tears and a blurry screen. The feeling of fullness that I had after I was done reading was and is indescribable Writerji. You got me in that update.

Now, add to this the love story of another noble couple is just ...

That Kabir fell in love with Roshini is no surprise. What is not to love in Kabir - a wonderful friend, a dedicated doctor and ... an attractive bachelor! I, for one am really really glad that he found an equally wonderful partner in crime. ❤️

But I do want to come back to the idea of adoption - A process you describe in detail. Yes! that home study is an exam of sorts - a judgement, an evaluation of how you live. It is a harsh process, but for a good reason. I have always wondered if all of us should have a license test like we do for driving - you know? for parenting as well? Loved that Khushi felt the same!

I know the story is winding down and I have this sentimental nostalgia for this couple. I feel like I have gotten to know them, like they are in my WhatsApp circle... And that is because of what you did with your writing my dear SS. You brought them alive for me and now they are under my skin.

What can I say? I wish them more "Thats" and "That also"... (what else can one expect from an Italian stallion 😆)

But most of all, I wish them a whole lot of love that comes from all corners - children (yes, plural), parents, friends... neighbors, FF-fangirls too.

I love this one like always.. Bas.

Jigs, I feel like the above picture is just right for the "That" situation.

Looks like the above kiddo is telling me:

When you were all thinking with your gutter minds about "That", that was actually the first step my future parents were taking in welcoming me.

That was the tasty food my mom had cooked in honor of the woman, who would help me in reaching my mom's arms.
So ladies, that was for me!!!!! 😡😆

Coming to the update Jigs, you mesmerize me everytime with your super duper updates again and again.

I loved how you have visualised Kabir and Roshni's love story. The tower where Kabir proposed his love, it is the same tower built by Arnav right. That was just awesome!!!

Also Roshni, light which brought love into Kabir's life, light which would bring joy to Arnav and Khushi's lives, perfect name to symbolise this extraordinary woman.

I never knew that adoption process was so complicated and it would take such a long time.
Kudos to you for collecting all the information and a big thank you for sharing it with us.

Lavanya is indeed a good friend helping them with the adoption process.

Now me too waiting like Arshi for the day these two would become parents and would welcome their bundle of joy in their lives.

I cannot stop myself and wonder how old would the baby or child be. I hope its really small so that these two can experience every stage of being parents. Maybe there is a pregnant woman who has signed up to give away her new born for adoption and these two can get that baby, it would be perfect. A new born baby for the new parents!!!!

Congrats Jigs for the new Dori. 🥳 With the story seeing the light at the end hope that this is not the last one for this story. Sorry was unable to unres my last post on this thread.

THAT my dear was one yummylicious surprise😆.
Poor Arnav how much does he have to do and now he is not even allowed to eat THAT 😲 You are one strict wife Khushi or lets say Jigs😛

Adoption - a process and its not an easy one. Especially the wait and all. Do you know it takes a minimum of 2 years even before a kid can be called yours in Canada? Its a process that determines that the kids really find a place that can be called as a home and not the place where their life will be a hell.

As we come to the final stage of this story; we find that finally its the friends that are helping them big time. 👏 Be it Krabs, Roshni or Lavanya or Aman. This to me is the true friendship where one does not have to ask for anything but just receive it and that too in ten folds⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Loved the banter between Arnav and Krabs and the little love story of Dr Roshni and krabs. I know its going to break our G (Albmum's) little heart but well😆

The wait, its frustration of the process all was visible.

What i liked the most was Khushi giving the news of the baby when Arnav was with his first baby 😃.
The side discussion of the green buildings that's what its called, save energy for better earth tomorrow kind of the slogan was clear through their discussion.

And for that unseen child. Does it even matter if its boy or girl?

PS- Now THAT the confusion over THAT is over I shall be back to THAT for which i am paid to do THAT😆

Jigs, may I just say, this might be my favorite of anything you've ever written? I absolutely adored the entire update, and I can't even find words to express how much!

Adoption is something that is very close to my heart. I firmly believe in it, in giving a kid a family that loves them, and in turn gain a child who will love you unconditionally as well. There are just so many children in the world that have been abandoned by the cruel twist of fate...It's a no-brainer to me that anyone capable of supporting a child, financially and emotionally, should seriously consider adoption. And I wish, some day soon, it wouldn't be such a taboo to express the desire to adopt a child instead of having one biologically. And so, as much as I hate seeing our A & K hurt and in pain, I am glad this is the option they are pursuing, as it shows the options for people who want to be parents have.

I was hoping for a more guttery THAT, but I'll take the stuffed mushrooms for now, as long as we also get to witness that "fun" Mrs. Raizada and Lavanya were talking about in the next update 😆

I am so glad Krabs found happiness of his own, or shall I call her the light of his life? 😉 Dr. Roshni seems like a wonderful person, and I am immensely happy our Doctorji has finally seen the light (no pun intended) and decided to declare his love for her.

I can't wait for the next update, where, hopefully, A & K get to see their child for the first time.

Loved it, Jigs, as always, and I love you for taking the story down the route that you did.

A big cheers to THAT awesome update Jigs!
more comments later...

Sorry jigs, I got busy at work, didn't mean to just leave it at THAT!
Your Arnav and Khushi are just the most amazing people. They love their work, they love their food, they love their friends and family, they love to love and now are so ready to shower all that they have between them on a bundle of Joy that will hopefully soon be theirs.
BUT, it's been so tough for them. We all take our blessings so much for granted. Now after reading revealed, I'm appreciating everyone and everything in my life so much more. It's not easy to find love and when we do find it we quickly forget to nurture it, we tend to get busy with other things, or just take each other for granted. Being blessed with children is such a precious gift, only when you can't conceive or miscarry can you imagine the great loss.
Your writing was so vivid that I could feel Khushi and arnav's excitement and their frustration with the delay too. The process of adoption is not easy or a cakewalk, hope things only improve for them. I don't want Khushi to suffer any more.
I know, I'll have to wait patiently for your update and god knows what you have in store for us ;)
Have a great weekend.
Cheers!
