I recall the days I loved you in a million ways
"Rati I don't want to see anyone... I repeat anyone... Make sure no one enters my cabin..." Meher told rati and leaned into the chair closing her eyes.
Last night she intentionally stayed in the same room where it all started from. The hotel room which witnessed the beginning of the end. The end of her relationship with abeer. Whole night she again cried... Cried her heart out... Hoping for a miracle to happen. Wishing time flew back and everything gets sorted. You know opening her eyes, and finding herself wrapped in his arms and realising it was a dream. Life was a nightmare for her now.
Rati told Nisaar how sad and upset meher seemed. Nisaar knew the reason behind it but acted as if he was as clueless as rati was. Then Nisaar called abeer saying that meher was fine and in the office.
Back at home, abeer paced left and right in his room.
"I'm not supposed to see her... Abeer get a hold on yourself... Dude... Don't repeat the history... Stay away..." Abeer told himself.
"What's the harm in seeing her once...?? Its been 2 long years... I'm going to meet everyone at groove... That's nothing... Im not going specially for her..." Then abeer himself contradicted his own words.
"Hiii everyone... Look who is back..."
Abeer grinned as he entered the channel's building. Every face bloomed with happiness on seeing abeer. Their hero, their real rock star returned.
"Sattu sir..." Abeer said as he saw sattu walking down the stairs with a happy face.
"Mera rockstar aa gya... Mere chopde..."
Abeer hugged sattu and then nishi who had tears in his eyes.
"Kya nishi ma'am... Aisa welcome...??" Abeer asked.
"Nahi re... Woh main senti ho gyi bas tumhe dekh ke..." Nishi replied.
"Ohh Teri... I missed you the most nishi ma'am.." Abeer hugged nishi.
"Kahan hai woh...??" Abeer whispered to Nisaar.
"Cabin mein... Mood bahut off hai..." Nisaar replied.
"Main jaun... I should meet her... Boss thi meri..." Abeer asked.
"Pyaar thi tera... Jaa..." said nisaarnisaar and abeer glared at him.
"Stop crying Meher Purohit... Stop it for once... Stop crying..." Meher told herself with tears continuously rolling down her eyes.
A knock on the door and meher wiped her eyes hurriedly, composing herself. She isn't a weak girl to show her weakness to the whole world.
"Come in..."
Meher turned her chair around, her face facing the wall.
"Meher..."
Did he hear the voice she yearned to hear all these years...??? Is he back...?? Is he calling her...?? Or her senses playing with her...??
"Meher... Main... main..."
"Abeer..." A whisper escaped her mouth.
Meher got up from the chair and turned to face him. Her abeer... Was he still hers..?? The first thought that crossed her mind.
You know the moment when you wish the time froze and you live in that moment forever, wishing the bliss to never end. That's what meher and abeer felt. Looking at each other after years and the great feeling of breathing in the same air and standing under the same roof. It was feeling alive. Coming back home.
"How are you...??" Abeer broke the ice and asked meher, closing the door behind him.
"Wonderful... You..??" Meher replied sarcastically.
"I'm handsome and hot as ever..." came the bang on reply.
"Great..."
Meher sat on the chair and started working on a file kept on her table. Her body language told abeer she was nervous. Nervous of what to say NOW. Meher kept turning the pages on the file and was thinking of how abeer could have given them a chance. What did she ever ask him for...?? A freaking second chance...
"Boss... Mera 9 pm slot mil sakta hai kya...???" Abeer asked he settled in a chair opposite hers.
"The world doesn't revolve around you... We don't have that 9 pm slot free..." Meher replied.
"I thought you would gift me that 9 pm slot now... As a welcome gift... But no... How sad..." Abeer sighed.
"What do you want abeer...??" Meher asked closing the file.
"You... I want you back..." Meher wished he say that. How her heart hoped he would say that.
"Nothing other than the prime slot..." Abeer replied and giggled.
Meher looked at the paper weight kept on her table and controlled the temptation of throwing it at him. At his face. All these years she was yearning for him, hoping for him to return. And now when he returned, he has started irritating her.
"I have work... Excuse me please..."
"Meher ok I came here to meet you... To see you... Once..." Abeer whispered on seeing the saddened look on meher's face.
"Hmm... After two years... Isnt it too early...?? Thank you for being so thoughtful..." Meher replied and looked away.
Abeer could see her eyes getting moist and he knew she was trying hard not to break down in front of him.
"I needed time... That night...-"
"Just don't... Let's not talk about it... Please..." Meher interrupted abeer.
"At least listen to me for once..." Abeer requested.
"Did you listen to any of my pleadings that night...??"
"Sorry... Its fair..."
Abeer got up from the chair and meher looked at him from the corner of her eye.
Was he leaving already...?? He is again giving up... That easily...?? Doesn't she have the right to be angry with him...??? Does she even has any right NOW...???
Meher got up from the chair in disbelief when he turned around to leave after murmuring a 'bye'.
Before he opened the door, meher angrily moved towards him and turned him around. Abeer looked at meher in confusion and then that confusion vanished when her soft lips touched his. As she kissed him, his eyes widened in shock but soon his hands were immediately wrapped around her waist, kissing her back. Nothing mattered to them in that moment, other than the feeling that it felt amazing; like it seemed a decade back. Their bodies were tingling with desire and wanting more. Meher's hand moved to the back of abeer's head pulling him close, she wanted him like she needed air to breathe. Abeer sucked on her lower lips pressing his body to her. Meher moaned in the kiss and her mind spinned as the new yet old sensation and passion took over her senses. They both wanted the same thing and they knew that. Abeer pinned meher to the door and strongly gripped her waist deepening the kiss. Slowly it changed into something more desiring, desperate and fulfilling. As the kiss finally broke and he trailed his tongue down her neck, she was panting for breath and her body was on high alert.
But the moment sadly didn't last forever, the reunion of two yearning souls couldn't complete, there was a knock on the door. Meher opened her eyes and pushed abeer away, both of them realising what were they wanting to do.
"Come in..." said meher after fixing her hair.
"Woh abeer bhai ko sattu sir bula rahe hai..." said jawahar looking at abeer and meher. He read their faces and knew something happened. Between the two.
"Aa raha hoon..." replied Abeer.
"Abeer..." Meher called abeer when he took a step towards the door.
"Let's meet tonight... If you are free..."
"Fine..."
Abeer left the cabin and meher smiled genuinely. The ear to ear kind of smile. The smile reached her eyes. She was suddenly excited like a teenager whose crush crushed her out on a date. Was it really a date..?? Their new beginning...?? Meher felt butterflies in her stomach and sat in the chair, thinking of how beautiful her life will be, if they work out this time.
"We will work out... He still loves me... Why would he have kissed me back, if he didn't... He loves me... He still loves me... Yeyyy... I love you too abeer..." she said and took out a photograph from one of the drawer of her desk. It was a picture of them from the initial days of their marriage. On the beach holding hands watching the sun set.
"You have taken already too much of time Mr. Malhotra... im glad i waited for you... Bas ab aur der mat karna... Main toot chuki hoon abeer... Kahin ab bikhar na jaun..." She said looking at his smiling face.
"Sattu sir... This isn't done... I can't take it..."
"They are yours... You obviously don't remember mere chopde... You did invest in some shares and it is your share... Aaj mila hai tu, aaj bhi na doon..." said sattu.
"Thank you... Net amount hai kya...?? Aapki commission deduct kar ke..."
"Jo hai ab yahi hai..."
"Arrey majak kar raha hoon sattu sir..." Abeer hugged sattu.
Abeer sat in nisaar's cabin. The cabin which was once his. He looked around and remembered that time. The time when groove had only one rockstar - Abeer Malhotra.
"What happened with you guys...???" asked Nisaar.
"Nothing..." Abeer replied.
"Bta na... Kuch toh hua hai..." Nisaar winked at abeer.
"Jawahar... Hai na...??" Abeer smirked.
Nisaar giggled in response.
"I'm seeing her tonight..."
"What...?? A date..??"
Abeer got up from the chair and opened the door of the cabin. As he opened the door, he saw meher. She was grinning while talking on the phone. Suddenly the smile from his face faded thinking who could it be. Someone who could make meher smile, the way only he used to make her smile. Once.
"She is not dating anyone... Very much single... Still loves you..." Nisaar told abeer standing behind him.
"She shouldn't... I did all this so that she could move on in life... I feel nisaar... Forget it..." said Abeer.
"You tried pushing her away abeer but if she doesn't wants to move on. Its not your fault buddy..." Nisaar told abeer.
"Where am I wrong nisaar...?? I want her to be happy... To start life a fresh... When will she understand that..."
"When will you understand that you are her happiness..."
"See you later..."
Abeer walked out of the office; looking forward to meet meher in the evening.
