Hey guys here is the next update!!It has been long since last update as i was quite busy with assignments.I have tried to make it better than previous one .hope u like it.
Chapter 4 -BACK TO THE LIFE
Ranveer tried to open his eyes but they won't open.he tried again only to close them immediately as bright light hitted his eyes.after several blinks,he was able to open his eyes.after some moments of blurriness,his vision got clearer and he got the view of the room he was in lying in.the room was filled with the light coming from the window.ranveer's eyes traced light to window through which several trees were visible.he could also hear the pleasant chirping of birds along with the rhythmical beeping of machines that were connected to his body.
he wondered how he had gotten in such condition.he tried to remember what had happened and he remembered falling from the cliff.
'so thats what has brought me here!!ishani must have been very worried for me!!where is she? She will not leave me like this alone in this condition.whatever she says in front of everyone,doesn't matters to me.because I know the truth maybe not completely but enough to make me sure that you are the same,you never changed!!where is everyone? Where have they brought me? This looks like new place'.
Ranveer was wondering where he was ,when prashant entered the room .after seeing that ranveer was awoke,he felt happy and relieved.
"welcome back to the world ,young man!!It feels good to see you open your eyes".
Ranveer looked in the direction of sound to find a tall man in his late fortys smiling at him happily.
he wondered who he was,smiling at him like this.
"you must have been wondering about so many things right now,so I will give you a brief information,the rest could wait till your health improve more. My son saurabh found you lying unconsciously and bleeding severely in the forest.we brought you to hospital and treated you.you went into coma then and woken up now after approximately one and half years.you are not able to move even your hand as your body has not made a movement for so long.so it will take time to recover fully.I would advice you to rest for a while and keep trying to make movement.it will help you a lot."
Ranveer looked at prashant as if he was some alien or ghost.he was so shocked to hear it that he could not absorp what he had said though he had heard every word of it.
his mind was now so full of thoughts that he found it difficult to think clearly.
'one and half years!!!He brought me here means no body knows about me!!everyone must have thought that I am dead after falling from cliff.oh god!!ishani!!!what must have been her condition!!!oh no,I must go to her now.'
he tried to wake up with all energy he could gather but still he was only able to move his fingers.prashant observed this.he kept hand on ranveer's and said in smooth voice,
"I know it must be difficult for you,but you have to recover so that you can do what you want to.you have been in coma for so long,can't you give yourself some more time to get fit and normal so that when your loved ones see you,they must be very happy to see you,not worried by your condition.do you understand what i have trying to say?"
ranveer nodded absent minded.'time' that was the thing he could not wait for.he had to know what had happened in those years.an unknown fear had began to grip his heart.but what dr.was saying was also true.last thing he would want to see was ishani's reaction if she sees him like this. He decided to wait as it was the only thing he could do.
Lily was feeling sad for ishani as alice told her ishani's story.alice had avoided for about one week telling lily this for she feared that along with ishani's story,lily would also again remember their past.but she had to finally gave up before lily's pleas.lily had found it very strange when her mother had refused to tell her anything and ishani had also choosen to be silent .she had pursued her mother successfully .
it was then she understood why alice was refusing to tell her anything.
"I understand mom," lily said in a low voice," but trust me, I have since long learned to follow what you have taught me,It will remind me of our happy past but it will not be able to affect me as much as before as I know that I still have u and you are the most precious tresure to me. "
Alice nodded at this and took lily in her embrace.she patted lily's back affectionately.
"mom,what concerns me is ishani.she have no one to support her.she even leaved her family though I know there must be a reason for that too."
"lily ,you have been a brave girl so far.yes ,dear,I know what you want to suggest.we will give her a new family,a family with whom she could share her fears,with whom she could be happy once again,we will be her family!!".
"you are the best mom!!but I think perhaps you should give her some other job.have you observed??she works like crazy!!! It is not good for her anyway!
"hmm..,I have been thinking for the same,lily!!And I think I have found a suitable job for her that will not allow her to be aloof,will keep her busy with people."
"oh really mom!!you are just...!!!"she hugged alice tightly.
It was a beautiful evening in february.room was filled with golden glow of sun light entering from windows.cool and refreshing air was playing in room happily. Sunset had filled window's canvas so beautifully that anyone would have been easily tempted to watch it even if for few seconds. but amidest such a scenic beauty,there was one person who had not given a second's attention to her surroundings.she had literally buried herself in the files kept on table.she was trying to focus on files but had not been able to do so from quite some time.finally exhausted,she stood up and went to window to take a watch at outside.she could see sunset as well as the trees that were dancing happily with wind standing on both side of nearly silent road.the house was somewhat isolated from city being the reason of silence.
she sighed to herself and lost again in her thoughts.
'why I am feeling like this from some days? It could never happen,I know it and then also why I could not stop feelings coming from my heart??my heart ,which has refused to feel anything since he has gone in fact has been dead,now suddenly has began feeling again,living again!!!it again and again revolts against me,why??why it is not listening to me,not accepting the truth it had already accepted long time ago? what has happened? '
she began to walk uneasily in room. 'no,its not right!I must have to make my heart understood that the feeling it has been feeling even if they are very little ,are not right! It could never happen what it is feeling!!I saw it with my own eyes!!I confirmed it in every way possible!!no,no ishani,you must keep your heart as it has been for all these months!!'
"I will not allow it to be same again!!" she spoke loudly.
"to whom you would not allow to change ,dear??"
alice asked ishani.she had entered room before some time.but ishani had so engrossed in her thoughts that she had again failed to notice her.
"well,I must say,it has nearly been a custom that you don't notice me whenever I come to you!".
Feeling akward and uneasy,ishani tried to cover it up,
"no,no,it's nothing like that aunty! It's just I was thinking about something ."
"it's good to hear that you could think also ,ishani!".
"and what do you mean by that?"asked ishani surprised by alice's remark.
"ishani,to be honest,don't you think,you have been keeping yourself so much busy in the job that you almost gives no time to yourself?"
Ishani sighed and spoke in soft voice,"its not like that. I just like to work.thats it."
"no ishani no,from now you will not work like a maniac !!!I am removing you from the job!!you get it?"
"what???", now completely shocked,ishani said,"you are firing me because I work more than anyone??"
"no ishani,i didn't said that,i just said i am removing you from job means i am transferring you from this job to another job that was vacant from so many days ."
Ishani could not understand what to say,she wondered what job alice was speaking of.
"dear,I have appointed you as a new manager for our NGO's cafe.I thought that would be ok with you,so I arranged everything for you there,you will have to only observe work of staff and solve complaints of customers.I will explain the rest later"
"but,I don't want job of a manager!! I am happy to work with you as accountant."
"but ,i am not!!why everyone wants such a job!!what is the reason for you to say no ,then? Oh,I understood it now.is it that you will not be able to cry hiding from all,you will have to meet so many people everyday,that you will hide from your own family?".
Ishani looked at alice unbelieving and shocked.
"oh please ishani,don't give me that look!what do you think,I can't see anything?please ishani ,give yourself a chance!!you have come here in france,only live to like that??"
Ishani now looked below to avoid eyes contact with alice.she said softly and sadly ,
"if you have understood this much,then why don't you understand that i would not be able to live like before,that whenever i will try to be happy, i will remember everything that is so painful?"
Alice now softened from her strong and commanding tone,
"ishani,dear, I understand that ,but have you once thought that he would be happy to see you like this?stop living the life?would he had been happy to know that he is the reason you have stopped smiling and enjoying the life?besides that ishani,it is not the job i am giving to you,its form of social work only.all money earned there goes to NGO's account,you know that by now.ishani,give yourself a chance atleast ,not for you,not for me,but for him,please."
ishani now slowly raise her gaze to alice's.she thought for a while and spoke,
"i know he would not have been happy see me like this but I can't help it.all my happiness went with him,but as you said i will try to give myself a chance for HIS sake.you are like my mother.i won't disappoint you by saying no after you have trusted me so much. I am ready for the job."
"ishani,I can't tell you how happy i am for not only because you have accepted job and have given yourself a chance but also that you have given me place equal to your mother!! To be honest you had taken place as my second daughter when you had came to this home,and i am happy that now you also think the same!!thank you ishani for giving such happiness to me and lily!!"
"please,you are making me feel insulted now!!you have just said that i am your daughter!!does anyone says thank you to their child for respecting them?"
Alice laughed and teary eyed,took ishani in her embrace. Ishani was overwhelmed by the emotions that were flowing through her after so much time.she missed her mother terribly,and hugged tightly to alice and started crying.
"its ok ,dear!!i want to see hope and liveliness in your eyes from now,not tears anymore, ok!"
Alice was happy that ishani had finally agreed to give herself a chance ,though she knew that it will not be easy for her as it was saying it but she was happy that atleast ishani had given it a thought.
Phew!!finished it at last!!sorry friends for such a late update but i promise u all that i will update at least one chap. In a week .
