And did you really feel emotional during that parting scene? Wow! I am really touched to know that! I did not think I was that good! Thanks for telling me! Gave me a boost of confidence!😳
And no! It is not Arnav who will betray her! There won't be any betrayal from him! It will be someone else! It won't be Arnav, Naaniji or Nk! Thats all I wil disclose! Rest will be out next week!
Thanks once again for reviewing! Really enjoyed hearing your point of view!

Awesome update with lots of surprises and twistes...
Good that Arnav somehow had his own savings a side which nobody is aware of. This tells that we should have our own saving as we don't know what might happen in the future...

Felt bad for Khushi as she was thinking that she will somehow manage to convince her amma and buaji but things turned totally the other way round which made Khushi to witness one side of the revelation of her past. Luckily Arnav went with Khushi to also witness the truth...
I'm guess Nk would help that financially

Can't wait to read the next sequel
Continue soon!
Thanks for the pm😉

CHAPTER 5. AN OFFER WORTH ACCEPTING!

"Please Maasiji! Try and understand!", NK cried as he stood in front of Manorama in her room. Manorama, who was facing the window in her room and had her back facing NK, huffed in annoyance but did not say a single word.

NK scratched the back of his head as he wondered how to convince his Maasi. He wanted to go with Khushiji and Nannav, why doesn't she understand that? NK shook his head. I don't think I have met any person as stubborn as my Maasiji. No wait! I have met such person, NK thought sarcastically. Nannav! But then what else do you expect NK? They are aunt-nephew! He must have got certain traits from her!

NK shook his head. What am I thinking? Focus NK! Focus on convincing Maasiji! NK opened his mouth and tried again, "Please Maasiji! Let me go! Khushiji is going through a very difficult time and she needs all the support. And I am her friend Maasiji! It is my duty to stand by her. Please Maasiji. Kuch toh samjhiye and lemme go!"

"Bas karo Bitwa!", Manorama ordered as she turned around and glared at her nephew. "Hello Hi Bye Bye! Bahut hogaya ee tamasha! Ab ise hiyaan hi khatam karo! End eet right now! Humko kuch naahi sunna aur kuch naahi samajhna! Got eet? Now ghet out! (Enough of this drama! Now end it right here! End it right now! I don't want to listen or understand anything else! Got it? Now get out!)"

NK bowed his head down in defeat as Manorama turned back towards the window. NK turned and was about to slink out of the room when he heard Manorama mutter, "Pehle hi uu chudail humri Bhatije ko le gayi. Ab ka humre Bhanje ko bhi humse cheenegi? The girl ees a sona khodne waali, gold digger! (Already that witch has taken away my older nephew. Now is she going to take my younger nephew away from me too? That girl is a gold digger!)"

NK could not stop himself from protesting after he heard Manorama's words. He had to defend his dearest friend. He turned around, slightly annoyed, "Bas keejiye Maasiji! Stop insulting my friend. Khushiji gold digger nahi hai! Agar hoti then she would not have left with ASR with nothing but the clothes on her back. Aap mujhe bataayiye! Agar woh Nannav ke paise ke peeche hoti toh kya woh itni aasaani se Nannav ke saath jaati, jab ki uske saamne Nannav ne saare paise aur property Di aur Aakash ke naam kar diye. Wouldn't staying here with her Jeejaji and Jiji be more profitable than staying with penniless ASR? For God's sake Maasiji, use your brains and stop parroting your first impressions. (Stop it Maasiji! Stop insulting my friend. Khushiji is not a gold digger. If she had been then she would not have left with ASR with nothing but the clothes on her back. You tell me! If she wanted Nannav's money would she have gone so easily with Nannav when just right in front of her he handed over all his money and property to Di and Aakash. Won't staying here with her Jeejaji and Jiji be more profitable than staying with penniless ASR? For God's sake Maasiji, use your brains and stop parroting your first impressions.)"

"KA? Ka tum bole? (WHAT? What did you say?)", Manorama pounced at him, " Apni Maasi ke saath is tarah batiyaaoge? Have you no mannerj? These aaj kal ke boyz! No tameez! All badtameez! Don't taak to me like this! (You will talk to your Maasi in this way? Have you no manners? These boys of today! No manners! All ill mannered! Don't talk to me like this!)"

NK glared at her, "Bolunga! Aise hi bolunga Maasiji! When adults make stupid decisions it is upto kids to show them the way! You are wrong and I am going to prove it!", NK's tone softened as he once again attempted to convince his Maasiji, "Maasiji please! Khushiji is not bad person. I know her! Main use chaanta hun!..."

Manorama interrupted, "Chaanat naahi! Jaanat hai!"

NK shrugged, "Yeah! Whatever! But the fact is that I know her. Woh paise ki greedy nahi hai! Hoti then she would have baited me. After all, I was crazy for her!"

"KA?", Manorama roared in shock. Her Bhanja was also in love with Phatti Saari! Her face reflected horror. Uu Khoon Bhari Taang humre Bitwa ko phasa gayi aur ee Phatti Saari humre Bhanje aur Bhatije dono ko phasa gayi! Ee Gupta sisterj hai kis cheez ki bani! (That Khoon Bhari Taang trapped my son and this Phatti Saari has trapped both of my nephews! What are these Gupta sisters made of!!)

NK took in his Maasiji's horrified expression and smiled sheepishly, "Errr... Yes! Maasiji! I liked Khushiji!"

Manorama sniffed and muttered, "Sharma toh aisan rahat hai jaisan aaj iski shaadi hai! (He is shying as if its his wedding today!)", then she raised her voice, "Arre oh Majnu ki Aulaad! Uu toh gayi! Tohre Nannav ke saath! Ab toh uu ke gun gaana chod de! (Oh son of Romeo! She is gone! With your Nannav! Atleast now stop singing praises of her!)" What kind of boy is he? Manorama wondered. The girl he loved eloped with another guy and this fellow is still praising her? What the!

"Maasi! I liked her! Had a crush on her! It was not love! And I am over it! Chill!", NK replied in a panicked voice.

"Bhaatevher! (Whatever!)", Manorama looked at him with annoyance.

NK shook his head but continued with his earlier monologue, "Coming back to the point Maasi, I liked Khushiji and I never hid it. And yet, Khushiji, usne kabhi mujhpe dhori nahi daali!"

"Dhori?", Maamiji interrupted in confusion, "Matlab thread?"

NK rolled his eyes, "Oh come on Maasi! You know what I mean. She never tried to trap me. Even when I flirted with her she did not try to woo me even though I am NRI and an easier target than ASR. She could have easily trapped me Maasiji but she did not. This shows that the girl is not a gold digger and she did not marry Nannav for money or property!"

"Achcha? Toh humko tum ee bataao! Apne Khushiji ke baare mein itna sab jaanat hona! Toh bataao! Chote aur uu Phatti Saari ne aisan jaldbaazi ma kaahe shaadi ki? (Oh really? Then tell me! You seem to everything about your Khushiji! Then tell me! Why did Chote and Phatti Saree elope?)", Manorama looked at NK with narrowed eyes.

NK opened his mouth but then shut it again. He again opened his mouth but then shook his head. He was so confused.

"Bohoraayi gaye na tum? (Baffled, aren't you?) Hui gava na kanfujan (Isn't this a confusion)? I tell you bitwa, daal mein bahut kuch kaala hai. There ees something black in the daal! Ee phatti saari ees naat a good girl!", Manorama spoke.

NK slapped his forehead. Back to square one! Or shall I say back to torn Saree! Seriously, what is this obsession Maasiji has with giving ridiculous nicknames to people? Phatti Saari! Khoon Bhari Taang! NK shook his head. Focus NK Focus! You are here to argue Khushiji's case, not to discuss Maasiji's weird nicknames.

NK wondered what to do now. What shall I say to convince Maasiji? I can't go on with my current argument. Lagta hai I have to try some other tactic! Think NK think! Suddenly his eyes widened. Yes! That's the perfect argument! NK! You are awesome!

NK sat on the bed and spoke up, "Ok! Maasiji! I give it to you! Your Torn Saree must be not a good person!", Manorama smiled brightly at her nephew glad that he was finally seeing reason. NK continued to speak, "But what about your Chote? Your Arnav Bitwa?"

Manorama frowned, "Chote?" NK smiled widely and nodded, "Yes! Your Chote! Do you think that ASR is a nave idiot? What is that word you people use? Oh Yes! Bhola! Kya woh koi bhola aur bewakoof insaan hai? (Is he a nave and foolish person?)"

Manorama huffed, "Dekho bitwa! Humre Chote ko kuch mat bolna! Heera hai heera! Itna tez dimaag hai humre bitwa ka! Isliye toh pichle kuch saalon mein kitna bada umpire khada kiya hai! (See here son! Don't say a word about my Chote! He is a diamond! My bitwa has such a sharp brain! That's how he was able to build so big umpire in last few years!)"

Now it was NK's turn to frown, "Umpire?"

"Arre! Business! Company!", Manorama retorted.

NK chuckled, "Oh! You mean Empire?"

Manorama pouted, "Hello Hi Bye Bye! Ishtop interrupting me! Toh hum kahaan the? Haan! Humre Chote toh itne ishmart hai ki besht bizinechmen ka award bhi mila hai! (Stop interrupting me! Where was I? Yes! My Chote is so smart that he even got the best Businessman Award!)"

NK smirked. Got ya Maasiji! He stood up and looked at his Maasiji with a smug expression, "Exactly Maasiji! ASR! The Great ASR! Fashion World's Tycoon! One of youngest and successful businessman! He is the guy who bought back Sheeshmahal just for his sister! He is the guy who takes every step seriously and thinks twice before taking it. He is the guy who is always ten steps ahead of his competitors. Then how can you even think that a small town girl like Khushi can dupe him so easily? Aap kaise yeh soch sakti hain Maasiji?"

Manorama blinked. She never thought of it this way. NK continued, "Maasiji! Itne successful hain Nannav toh I am sure unke raaste mein bahut saare ladkiyaan aayi hongi jo unke money, fame and property pe fida hokar unke peeche honge! If Arnav did not fall for them, how did he fall for Khushiji? What is so amazing about her that the great ASR uske liye crazy hogaya? Have you ever thought? (Maasiji! He is so successful, I am sure, many girls might have thrown themselves on him for his money, fame and property! If Arnav did not fall for them, how did he fall for Khushiji? What is so amazing about her that the great ASR went crazy for her? Have you ever thought?)"

NK grabbed his Aunt's hands and pleaded, "Maasiji! It is ok ki aap Khushiji pe bilkul trust nahi karte! (It is fine that you don't trust Khushi!) But don't you trust your shrew minded calculative nephew's sharp brain? Aap apne Chote pe trust nahi karti? What is that word? Oh yes! Bharosa! Bharosa nahi karti!"

Manorama blinked in worry. Her Bhanja was right. Chote jo har kadam phoonk phoonk ke rakhte hain uu ne agar jaldbaaji ma shaadi ki, toh kuch na kuch toh raaz hoga uu ke peeche! Kuch toh gadbad hai! Aur ee raaz Phatti Saari se hi nahi humre Chote se bhi judi hai! (Chote, who took every step after deliberating, why would he elope with Khushi? Some secret must be there behind his decision! Something is wrong! And this secret is not just connected to Phatti Saari but also to my Chote!)

"Theek hai!", Manorama announced as she turned and looked at her nephew in eyes, "Jaao! Jaao lekin uss Phatti Saari ke paas naahi! (Go! Go but not towards that Phatti Saari)", NK looked confused and Manorama continued, "Humre Arnav Bitwa ke paas jaao! Uu ke paas raho! Uu ko support karo! Chote ko jo madat ki jaroorat pade, woh karo! Humre Chote ke saaya bano! Samjhe? (Go to my Arnav Bitwa! Be with him! Support him! Whatever Chote needs, help him get it! Become his shadow! Understood?)"

NK nodded eagerly, "Thank you Maasiji! You are the best!" He lunged forward and hugged his Maasi tightly. He knew it! He knew that his Aunt will see the logic!

"Lekin yaad rakho", Manorama announced as NK pulled away from her, "Hum tumko isliye nahi bhej rahe kyunki humko us Phatti Saari ki padi hai. Uu pe toh humko ratti bhar ka bharosa naahi! Lekin humka humre Arnav Bitwa ki bahut chinta hai! Apne parivar se door uu kaisan rahega? (I am not sending because I care about Phatti Saari! I don't trust the girl even a little! But I am worried about my Arnav Bitwa! How will he live, away from his family?)", here Manorama's face crumbled as she tried to imagine her nephew struggling to survive. Her expression turned into determination, "Aur humri Sasuma bhi toh hai! Humko uu dono sahi salaamat chaahi. Aur uu ke liye tumko jo karna pade, karo! (And my mother-in-law is also with them! I want both of them hale and hearty. For that, do whatever you can!)"

"Ji Maasiji!", NK vigorously nodded as he turned towards his room. He had to start packing. Suddenly, he turned, "Maasiji! Tell the Raizadas ke mujhe ek urgent assignment mila hai isliye main Australia waapis jaa raha hun! (Tell the Raizadaas that I had got an urgent assignment so I am leaving for Australia right away!)"

Manorama nodded as her eyes teared up. Her nephew was going and that also so soon. God knows when she will see him next what with him following ASR! "Suno bitwa!", she called for him with a lump in her throat. NK stopped again and Manorama went and hugged him. She kissed his forehead and ordered him, "Humko phone karte rehna! Udhar ki khabar aur tumri khabar humka dete rehna! Humko humre Bhatije aur Bhanje dono ki bahut phikar hai! (Keep calling me! Keep giving me every news about them and yours too! I am worried about both of my nephews!)"

NK nodded as he also felt emotional. Manorama was so similar to his mom that she always reminded him of her and going back was always tough on him. That is why he rarely visited India.

"I promise Maasiji!", NK spoke as he wiped his tears, "I will keep you in loop. I will report everything to you. And then you can decide whether your Phatti Saari is good or not!" Manorama huffed and NK let out a chuckle.

Few Hours Later...

"And that is how I came here!", NK announced as he smiled at Naaniji, Arnav and Khushi. While Khushi remained catatonic, Naaniji smiled at him with trembling lips. Arnav took a look around the room finally noticing the bags strewn all over by NK. The bags seemed too many, Arnav realised. NK chuckled, noticing Arnav's confused gaze and spoke up, "Too many bags right? Wonder what's packed in them!"

NK's mischievous tone had Arnav raising his eyebrow. NK chuckled again and spoke in playful tone, "Maasiji might have packed your and Naaniji's clothes in some of the suitcases too!" When Arnav's eyes widened NK continued with same playful tone, "And there might even be documents of yours and Naani's so that if either of you plan to fly abroad you can do that too!"

Arnav felt gratitude for his Maamiji. He never thought she would be so resourceful. dWhen I go home, I have to find a way to thank her! Then he frowned as NK's rest of the words registered in his brain, "Fly abroad! What the! Spit it out NK! There is something you are hiding!"

NK huffed, "I can't hide anything from you right? OK! Fine! I have an offer for you!"

NK fell silent, a bit nervous about his idea. This was something he and Manorama had discussed when she came to handover Arnav's and Naaniji's things. She was worried about their emotional and mental well being and had thought of the idea.

When Arnav did not respond, NK continued hesitantly, "I am thinking that you all should come and stay with me in Australia!"

When Arnav opened his mouth, NK burst out, "Just listen to me before you say something! Just listen!" Arnav shut his mouth and NK continued, "Dekho Nannav! Everyone knows you here! Everyone knows who is ASR! So surviving in Dilli, infact surviving in India is going to be hell for you. Forget about the difficulty you will face in getting a job, the media will toss the story around the moment they get a whiff of it and that will cause nothing but emotional backlash in your life. They will tear your image apart, they will destroy your company. Not just you, but Di, Maasi, Aakash, everyone will be affected. And while they can handle it as they have PR and all under their payroll, you without the protection of the Raizadas will be left open for the attacks! Think ASR think!"

Arnav stared at a distance as he realised that NK had a point. NK continued, "And think about Naaniji! Will she be able to handle the fallout? And how will the slandering of her family name, the Great Raizadas will affect her? What was that word? Ah! Mitti! Raizada ka naam will be in mitti! Then how she will take it?"

Arnav turned towards his Naani who had her eyes closed with her lips whispering some mantra. Then NK pointed towards catatonic Khushi and spoke in softer tone, "And think about Khushiji! If she stayed in this city, she will keep on coming face to face with her family. How will that affect her? She is already in pieces. Meeting them will destroy her. And right now she needs to get away. And Australia is the best place for her. Because not just you and Naaniji she will have me for support too. I can amuse her, distract her. And this will give you a new start! You can live few months without worry or pressure. After that once the furor dies down, you can come back, you know. But right now going away from all this will not just be good for mental and physical health of Khushiji and Naaniji but also for you too! What do you think Nannav? How's my idea?"

NK looked at Arnav with trepidation wondering what he will say. Will he reject the idea right away? Or will he laugh at me for even suggesting it?

Arnav frowned as he mulled over NK's words. Suddenly, something struck him and he looked at NK, "But what about Di? I mean..." NK interrupted him, "Don't worry. Your Maamiji aka my Maasiji has agreed to help us. All I have to do is keep her appraised about our situation and she will keep us in the loop regarding Shantivan. She will give you every info about Di if you want!"

Arnav looked away as he mused. Suddenly, another doubt cropped up, "What about Khushi's documents?" NK shrugged, "I will ask Maasiji to send one of the Prakash brothers to get it from Gupta house! Look ASR! Now you are grasping at straws! These are minute details that we can take care of! And you know that! Stop stalling!"

Arnav nodded and then finally smiled a sad smile to NK, "Fine! Go ahead! I will call Aman! He is loyal to me! He will arrange all the visa procedure and tickets and in few days we will leave for Australia!" As NK called up his Maasiji to get Khushi's documents Arnav turned towards Naaniji and Khushi. The former was still praying while the latter continued to stare at a distance still being unresponsive. Yes! Arnav mused as he took in their expressions. His decision was right! If not him, they atleast deserved a new start! Once we enter Shantivan after Di's delivery, we have to face many difficult situations and for that all three of us need lots of strength and positivity. Australia would be good for us! Yes! This is the right decision!

And with this ends the Betrayal - An Uncertain Future!

But this is not an end to this story!

Pretty soon Arnav, Khushi, Naaniji and NK will be back to entertain you in the sequel of Betrayal called Love - Its Complicated!

Along with them, some new characters will also arrive! And you will also see the comeback of one of the old and most loved characters of IPKKND! Guess who? I think you guessed it right!

While Betrayal was all about the problems ASR and Khushi faced with their one single decision to elope, Love will be more focused on them and their love story. Till now ASR and Khushi have yet to confess their feelings to each other. So when we come back next time you will see romance in the air and some dating and wooing and... you get the gist!

But not everything will be hunky dory. After all, what is a Love Story without some complications? Here the complications will be many, one of them being Khushi's past clashing with her present. Khushi's past was left untouched in the show and we still do not know how her life was before she met Guptas except the fact that her parents died in a car accident which has left her traumatized about fast cars. This has given us writers the chance to use our imagination and give Khushi a backstory of our preference and Love will be my attempt to do the same.

Some other complications will also include the impact Arnav's decision has on Khushi. In the show marriage was used as a weapon in the game between Shyam and Arnav where Khushi was an unwilling participant. And in this story, marriage was used as a tool to prove Khushi's innocence. But as far as Khushi is concerned, marriage is very precious and pure bond and to be used in such a manner and taken so lightly would have some repercussions for Arnav.

Also let's not forget that their marriage is not yet registered, so when you add a newly found relative of Khushi hell bent on giving her a better life and a short tempered ASR who married Khushi in such a way, unregistered marriage is surely going to create one hell of a ruckus.

Last but not the least complication is the above mentioned relative who will not stop at any cost to ensure that our Khushi gets to make choices based on what she wants rather than what is best for her family like she had done till now.

Phew! That is one complicated love story!

So get ready people! Because on 16th October, 2015, we are going to land in Australia with our favorite couple, our favorite sidekicks and have Arshi romance, lots of twists and lots of jhatke! After all, what is a story penned by Kalpana without some twists and shocks? So if you still think Arshi love story is going to be simple, then keep dreaming! Coz what is a love story without some complications? You see, this is Love - Its Complicated!

Thanks for reading!

Take care and have fun!

See you on 16th of October,

Kalpana
