I haven't seen Indian Idol I, neither Indian Idol II. However, on the basis of a lot of comments in this section; I have deduced that every single time the wrong person wins the competition. I've listened to Abhijeet Sawant's songs, and I have to admit the guy is good, so I'm not going to say it's so unfair that he won the entire thing.
However, if we go on the basis of Season 2, and Season 3, then as per most people in Season 2 – Karunya should have won, since he was a much better singer than Sandeep, but ultimately in the end Sandeep won. Word got around that the wrong person won. In this past season of Indian Idol we witnessed a similar scenario with Prashant winning.
I'm not stating Sandeep and Prashant are horrible, but they have a long way to go compared to Amit, and Karunya. They have a long room for improvement.
Most people may disagree with me, and point out that Amit didn't do, as well, as Prashant in the concert in Mumbai, but guys let's go over the overall picture, and the answer is evident.
Possibly, I'm in a major way biased when I state this unfair point of the show due to Amit. But, if we have wonderful singers like Deepali being voted out, then it's ridiculous. She should have gone a long way in my opinion, and should have been there in the finals.
Is it really worth it for "unique" & possibly the best singers to enter the show? Since, consistently, we have noticed a trend of the "not-so-great" person winning. If this trend continues, then the show will soon become a joke. What do you think?
