Part 6

"Rishu... Rishu.." she called out to him frantically.

RK wrapped his arms around her worriedly as she threw herself in his arms. "What happened baby?" He asked.

"I told you na that it would happen.. it did happen.." Madhu said looking at him with panicky eyes.

"What happened?" RK asked even more worried.

"Sultan.. he proposed to me.." Madhu said getting restless.

"Ohhh.." RK sighed in relief. "You scared me.."

"I am scared.. are you not scared?" She asked him in surprise.

"But Madhu why are you scared? You shouldnt be.." RK assured her as he held her arms firmly.

"But why am I scared then?" Madhu asked confused.

"Its normal Madhu.. Even happy and well to do people get nervous when considering marriage.. then we have been raised up in an orphanage.. its alright for you to feel that way." RK assured her.

"Ok.." Madhu said nodding. Rk was her sole support system. She believed him in all situations. "What should I do now?" She asked him as she looked at him with wide innocent eyes.

"Do what you think is right.." RK said softly.

"I don't know.."

"Only you can tell if you love him or not.."

"I don't know.."

"Then take some time.."

Madhu nodded her head. "That's a good idea"

Madhu was now sitting in her room lost in thoughts.

Flashback

"Madhu I wanted to talk to you about something.." Sultan said smiling at her.

Madhu knew what he would say so she quickly thought of something to divert his attention "You know Sultan, yesterday Trishna.."

"Dont do this Madhu.." Sultan said helplessly. "Why do you do this always..? This is more important than Trishna"

Madhu stopped and looked at him as panic started setting in her.

"Madhu, since the day that I saw you eating candy with all the children whom you consider your own, I have felt something getting alive inside of me.. You looked like an angel to me then, and you look like an angel to me now.. When you are around me I cant help but fall in love with you again and again and each second.. Will you give me the privilage of keep falling in love with you all my life.." he asked as he got down on his knees.

Madhu looked at him like a statue. She felt herself frozen as she prayed to God that this be a dream or rather a nightmare.

"Madhu.." Sultan called out to her and she was shook back to her senses. She stepped back from him and Sultan looked at her disappointed. She took another step back and then just turned around in a flash and ran away while Sultan saw her heartbroken and confused.

Flashback ends

Madhu was trying to think what was right, what Rishabh had asked her. Sultan was a good person, she also liked him and now she knew that. But when he proposed to her in the most romantic way, why she felt that she should have been with Rishabh. She felt the need to see him, she felt the need of his arms around her. Oh, how secure she felt in that circle of his arms always, the same that she felt today when she came back. But why did she run away from there like she never wanted that to have happened.

Just then her phone rang and she saw Sultan's number. She took in a deep breath as she calmed her nerves.

"Hello Sultan.." she said nervously.

"Listen I am really sorry Madhu if I hurt you.." Sultan said.

"No Sultan..I am sorry..I shouldn't have ran away like that.. I just felt so panicky.." she said helplessly.

"Why did you feel that way?" He asked hurt.

"I dont know... Rishu said its normal to get nervous.. and specially when I am from an orphanage and dont have an ideal picture of marriage or family.." she said nervously.

"Ohh.. you told him.." Sultan was a bit disappointed. Even though he knew Madhu and RK were the bestest of friends but he had always felt jealous of the place that RK had in Madhu's life. He was disappointed that Madhu didn't share her worries with him but with RK

"Ofcourse.." Madhu replied confused at such a question.

"Okay.. so what have you decided.." Sultan asked impatiently.

"I need some time Sultan.. I want to think.. I want to get accustomed to this idea.." Madhu said.

"Ok... whatever you feel right.." sultan said with a smile.

"Good night.." Madhu cut the call saying that.

She felt restless in her room. She wanted to be with RK and it was almost night. She quickly got up from the bed and ran upstairs.

As soon as she reached the roof, she found RK already standing near the railing. "Hey.. you are early.." Madhu said delighted. She had thought she would have to wait for RK as it was 15 minutes earlier to their usual time.

"I knew you would be too restless to sleep alone tonight.." RK said chuckling. Though he had another reason to be there. He was himself feeling restless. That morning when he had to be without Madhu was haunting him now as he found it turning into reality. Before Madhu came he was trying to reason to himself that it was the right thing and Madhu should move ahead in life. She need not wait back for him.

"You are right.." Madhu said grinning cheekily.

"So.. how are you feeling now.."

"Sultan called up.. he was saying sorry to have proposed to me like that.." Madhu said smiling embarrased.

RK laughed hearing her, "you must have scared the shit out of him.." he said.

"Yeah.. i had just ran away on his face.." Madhu said joining in the laughter as she felt the humour in the situation now.

"Poor guy... he chose a really tough case.." RK said.

"Ahh.. sure.."

"Madhu are you sure you want to sleep here tonight?" RK asked her after some time as they were lying down now.

"Yes.." Madhu shrugged.

"But your back might ache.. You shouldnt be careless like that.." RK said to her.

"If I go to room tonight my head will ache.. ." she said admantly.

"But Madhu.. this mattress is very thin.. its fine in normal days but.." RK tried to reason with her.

"I dont care.. i wont go." Madhu said even more firmly.

"Ok fine.." RK said getting up.

"Where are you going?" Madhu asked confused.

"to get my mattress from my bed.." he said as he walked out.

Madhu smiled satisfied seeing him.

"Should I say yes Rishu?" Madhu asked now that she was totally relaxed because she was with RK now. She no more had any insecurity.

" I wont influence your decision in this matter.. you are the one to decide if you love him or not.."

" You know me better.. cant you take this decision for me..?" She asked restlessly.

"No Madhu.. i cant!" RK dismissed the idea firmly. Already he was feeling this strange heaviness in his stomach thinking of Madhu with Sultan and now she even wanted him to say a 'yes' on her behalf. Madhu looked back at the sky disappointed.

"I never bought an ice cream without your approval and you want me to decide on marriage! Great going Rishabh Kundra.. thats how you do justice to friendship.." she accused him seriously.

"Madhu this is bigger than our friendship.." Rk said to her as he himself was lost in thoughts on how would Sultan become the first man in her life.

"Oye" Madhu sat up pointing a finger at him. "Nothing is bigger than our friendship..!" She said angrily.

"I didnt mean it that way.." RK clarified himself quickly not wanting to invite her wrath.

"thats better.." Madhu said lying back. "Okay lets take it this way.. what would you have done if Dipali had proposed to you.."

RK looked at her with a wierd expression. "Dipali?"

"yes.. why are you looking at me like that.. she is a great girl.. and I like her.." Madhu declared.

"No Madhu.. Sultan is different.. he is much responsible.. clear headed.." RK tried to evade the topic.

"Dipali is no less.. she is loving, caring.. she looks at you with so much love.. and she cooks great.. A plus for you.." Madhu said excitedly.

"Yeah.. she cooks good.. i liked the pasta she brought last tuesday.. but only if it had a little more.." RK unknowingly started loosing track.

"Rishu!! Dont get into the details of salts and peppers..!" She interrupted angrily.

"You made me divert out of topic.." RK accused her.

"You are elder to me.. You should be more focussed.. you would be 20 next month.." Madhu complained to him.

"Really. 20.. how long is our friendship then?" RK asked amazed.

"16 years.." Madhu smiled satisfied as she looked at the sky.

"Wow.." RK said amazed as he stared at the stars.

Love their friendship n comfort level.
D way they care for each other is so cute. Especially, when Rishu offered to bring his own mattress all d way up to d terrace, to make his Madhu comfortable in every way.That was such sweet gesture.

Rishabh will never get over his fantasy for food, I guess. 🤣

Nyc update,sultan finally propose her & she run away ri8 on his face to her safest place i.e rishabh arms..Both are feeling sumthng wrong but when will they understand whats wrong ?? Rk's b'dy coming.. Is some twist also coming.. Waiting for next update :)
