Never Had Issues with Karan Johar, says Akki

Being one of the top actors of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has never worked with Karan Johar before Brothers. When the two top names of the B-town didn't collaborate for as little as one project, people thought something was fishy between the two. Next, it was the fourth season of Karan's show Koffee with Karan, that Akshay was roped in for the first time. Sidelining all the rumours, the Baby actor has revealed that he never had any issues with Karan. On the other hand, the producer-director says that he was "dying to work with" the Gabbar is Back star.

In an interview with Mid-Day, when Akshay was asked what took him so long to work with the filmmaker, he said, "I never had any issues with Karan (Johar). In fact, he is a close friend of my wife (Twinkle Khanna). We didn't work because he probably thought I do only action films. We have not discussed this, but there was never a fight or a cold war between us". The producer of Brothers, which is Akshay's upcoming film, told IANS, "Akshay was the one person who I was dying to work with since two decades".

Last year, while promoting Khiladi 786, Akshay Kumar jokingly said in an interview with TOI, "Karan doesn't take me in his films. He probably thinks I'm not good enough". Their first collaboration, Brothers, which also stars Sidharth Malhotra, is hitting the theatres on August 14.
