"Okay and now for our final participant..." Rohan made his way over to the boys bowl and picked out a name...

Taani prayed that it was a good guy...

"REYANSH SINGHANIA!!!" Rohan said...

Taani's eyes snapped open... In her mind she was screaming NOOO!!!!!

Everyone was quiet and Rohan was a little confused... he looked around...

"Reyansh Singhania?" Rohan said again, everyone looked around for Rey, the teachers were also looking around for him...

Taani skimmed the crowd and found Rey sitting in the back of the crowd fast asleep...

The boys sitting next to him nudged him... Rey woke up... He put his hand up...

"Im here sir..." He said yawning... everyone laughed at him... he then realised where he was...

One of the teachers walked up to him and whispered to him...

"Oh shit..." He then made his way onto stage... Rohan applauded and everyone followed...

Rey stood next to Taani without looking at her... he was still half asleep...

Rohan continued talking but Taani's mind was buzzing about her partner...

After the assembly was over Taani went as far away from Rey as possible... her friends followed her out of the hall...

"Oh Taani I feel really sorry for you... you got the worst guy in the whole school..." Kria started...

"Rumour has it... Rey has no respect for anyone but himself..." Sharon said...

"He doesn't even come to class... he hangs around in the smoking area by the school... with his weird friends..." Aaron pitched in...

"I've heard that he has even killed someone..." Vicky said slowly...

Taani turned around to face her friends...

"Why does this have to happen to me?" She said close to crying...

"Taani, you know I would swap if I could...but we are not allowed too..."Kria said...

"I know..." Taani said slowly...

"Taani, look you are strong... all you need to do is show him who is in charge... then he won't be able to push you around..." Aaron said looking her straight into her eyes...

Taani was about to go into dream mood again but Rey's face zoomed in distracting her thoughts...

She shook her head to clear her thoughts...

"You're right, I need to show him I am the boss..." Taani said confidently... she looked around at the others... they looked like they doubt it...

"Guys come on... you have to make me confident..." Taani said...

"You can do it Taani," Aaron said winking at her... Taani smiled...

"Yeh, Taani show him your boss..." Kria said hugging Taani...

"Thank you... now what should I do.?" She asked...

The others looked at each other...

"I'll tell you... go find him now... and lay down the rules to him... you going to him, shows that things are done when you say..." Aaron said...

"Yeh... that's true... ok... let me find him..." Taani said looking around the courtyard for him..."Taani said confidently...

"He's probably at the smoking area..." Vicky said to her...

"Ok... I'll start there..." Taani said making her way there...

"Taani!!" Kria called... Taani turned around..."Good Luck!!"She said with a thumb up...

"Thanks... I think I'll need it..." Taani said with a wave to the others she left them in search of Rey... which was the last thing she wanted to do...

Taani walked up to smoking area from afar she could see some of Rey's friends smoking... but she could not see Rey anywhere...

Taani walked up to Nilesh...

"Hey, where is Rey?"Taani asked...

"Who's asking?" Nil said

"I am" Taani replied not liking Nilesh's tone... Nilesh looked at her...

"You are?" He asked his eyes were bloodshot...

"Taani... come on... just tell me where is Rey..." Taani said wanting to get away from this area...

"He left school..." Nilesh said still staring at Taani...

"Ok where does he live?" she asked... Nilesh laughed, more like coughed...

"You won't find him there..." He replied he coughed a little more...

"Where is he?"Taani demanded...

"Not a place for you..."Nilesh replied...

"What does that mean..?" She asked...

"It means... where Rey is right now... you won't be able to handle it..." Nilesh said standing up and walking away...

"I can handle anything... take me to him... now!!" Taani said... Nilesh turned to face her...

"Alright princess... but whatever happens... I am not responsible..." Nilesh said then he walked away...

Taani followed him reluctantly... she was unsure... but she wanted to talk to Rey so she followed Nilesh...

Nilesh drove like a crazy guy, although Taani had her seatbelts on she held on as tightly as she could to her seat... and prayed all of the way... as soon as the car stopped... she jumped out of the car... she had to hold a nearby tree to steady herself...

"You think that was crazy... look around you..." Nilesh said to her...

Taani looked around her, she felt she was in an underground gangster movie, they were people smoking, drugs everywhere, people playing card games, and other sorts...

"Follow me, keep your head down and don't look anyone in the eye..." Nilesh advised her...

"Oh and put this on... you stand out like the queen of Sheba... they will think you're a cop..." Nilesh said throwing her a hoody... Taani caught the hoody and smelled it, she thought it would smell nasty... but it had a nice musky scent...

"Its Rey's don't worry, It's not mine..."Nilesh smirked... Taani quickly put it on... she was loving the musky smell and she hugged herself... as she followed Nilesh through the crowd... keeping her head down and not looking at anyone...

They stopped outside a building...

"He's in here..." Nilesh said to her... She could not hear him from all of the noise outside and inside of the building, she realised it was an illegal boxing area... Taani's heart beat quickened...she had to push her way through people... Nilesh was ahead of her... He stopped and Taani nearly bumped into him...

"Where is he?" Taani asked..., Nilesh pointed to the ring...

"There..." Nilesh said with a manic smile on his face...

What Taani saw made her sick to her stomach, Rey was in the ring, he was punching his opponent, one after another, he showed no mercy on his face...

Taani stood frozen... she could not believe what she was seeing... she hugged herself tighter... she was drowned in fear...

Rey stopped he jumped up swung around and punched the guy in the face... the other guy fell to the floor, he didn't move...

Taani stared at the man all of the colour from her face draining... She looked back at Rey... what she saw scared her even further... he was staring right back at her... a manic look in her face...

Taani stepped backwards... she ran from the building...

"Hey where are you going?" Nilesh asked... he was cheering with the others but then notice that Taani had left... he ran after her...

Taani pushed pass everyone... she had no idea where she was going all she knew was that she wanted to get as far away from this place and Rey, as far as possible...

Just then someone grabbed her arm...

"Get off of me!!" She screamed... But someone covered her mouth and took her away... she had no idea who it was... all she could do was kick and punch anything she could...

Then the person let go of her... she turned around... she came face to face with Rey... he had the same look on his face... She saw Nilesh running towards them...

"Stay away from me..." She said tears falling...

"Rey man... sorry.." Nilesh said catching up with them...

Rey turned to Nilesh...

"What... were... you... thinking?" He said slowly... but the way he said it made goose bumps appear on Taani's hand...

"She wanted to see you..." Nilesh said in his defence...

"SO you brought her here..."Rey said in the same tone...

"Sorry man..." Nilesh said cowering under the look Rey was giving him...

"Ill deal with you later..." Rey said turning away from him...

He turned to Taani, He saw how scared she was... he took one step to her but she backed away...

"Get my bike Nil.." Rey said.. Nilesh went off to get the bike...

Rey continued to look at Taani wondering why she wanted to talk to him...

"What did you want to talk to me about?" Rey asked...

"Nothing..." Taani replied slowly...

Just then Nilesh came back with Rey's bike... Taani realised the bike was the same one that nearly ran her over this morning, when she was with Kria...

Rey handed the helmet to her, as Nilesh got off...

Rey got on and waited for Taani to get on behind him... but Taani stood frozen...

"How are you getting home?" Taani asked Nilesh...

"I have my car... remember the one we came in..."Nilesh replied...

"Oh yeh... I'll come with you.." Taani said to Nilesh... she would rather go back in Nilesh's crazy death ride than sit on the back of Rey's motorbike...

Rey got off of his bike, he walked over to Taani and picked her up over his shoulder...

"What are you doing? Put me down!!!!" Taani yelled...

Rey put her down on the bike, he put the helmet on her and sat down, he started the bike without a word, Taani had to grab on to him, to stop herself from falling off, she buried her face into his back as she was super scared... she had never been on a motorbike before...

Rey continued driving without a word all the way to Taani's house... he stopped outside her house and waited for her to get off... his shoulders were starting to hurt as Taani had driven her nails into his shoulder the entire ride...

Taani looked up, she realised they were outside of her house... night has fallen...

Taani got off, staggering a little, she stood up... she had got her confidence and her temper back...

"Don't you dare, ever do that again!!!" She yelled at him...

Rey looked at her and smirked...

"Don't look at me like that... its people like you who give the country a bad name... doing illegal things... and killing innocent people..."Taani continued..

Rey got off of the bike... he could feel his temper rising at what Taani had just said...

"Dont... Stop talking!!" Rey said he could feel himself losing control...

"No why should I... things are illegal for a reason... and people like you break the rules and create havoc everywhere..." Taani continued

"SHUT UP, don't talk about what you don't know... not everyone is brought up in bubble wrap, people goes through things that people like you can't even think about..."Rey replied...

"So that makes it alright to break the rules does it?" Taani asked...

Rey didn't reply...

"I thought so..." Taani turned around and walked inside...

"Taani!" he called she turned around, her heart did a flip, she could not understand why, it was the way he said her name...

"What?" She asked...

"If you say anything about what happened today... it won't be good for you..." Rey said...Taani knew he ment about the fight...

She didn't reply turned around and headed inside the house...

Rey watched her go, he waited until she was inside, and then got back on the bike, he started up his bike and drove off...

FLASHBACK

9 years before

Rey made his way home from school... the door of the house stood open... which was weird because the door is never open... he entered the kitchen and he saw his mum at the table... her head was on her hands,

"Mama, I'm home..." He called but his mum did not move...

"Mama, I'm home..." He said again... he was starting to panic,

"Mama," He called, he walked around to see his mum... her eyes were close...there was foam in her mouth...

"Mama..." He said softly...

There was a letter right next to her, Rey picked it up and read it...

My dearest Reyansh...

Mama loves you... never forget that... but I can't do it anymore... every day without your father... I just can't Rey... I love you... but I can't do it on my own... your dad loved boxing... and that brought about the death of him... living everyday without him is like trying to live without oxygen... you deserve better... you will be better... I love you...my dearest Rey...

I love you- Mama

End of Flashback...

Rey wiped away a tear that was falling from his eyes...
