Arnav heard some faint voice and stirred in his sleep. He felt Khushi's hand tightened around his waist. Pulling her close, he tried to block the noise and go back to sleep. But the faint voices still invaded his head. He concentrated on the voice.

"Arnav open the door!! Open it else I will go knocking at your dear wife's door!!"

His eyes jerked opened. He looked down at Khushi, who was frowning in her sleep. His eyes shifted to the door.

"Someone is ... shouting .." He looked down in his arms as Khushi murmured.

"Shhh.." he dropped a kiss on her chin. "Go back to sleep.. I will see..." Covering her with the quilt properly, he hurried out of the bed.

He opened the door to only see a furious woman standing there.

"Jennifer. I should have known!" He took her wrist in a tight grip and pushed her inside Khushi's room, locking the door.

"You cannot throw me out like this Arnav!" Jennifer shouted, her pale face all red. "Why did you tell my Father to send me off to my Grandmother's place?" she demanded.

"AND WHO THE HELL ASKED YOU TO COAX MY WIFE INTO RIDING THAT WILD HORSE! " He strode towards her and caught her chin. "SHE WOULD HAVE DIED, YOU BITCH!"

"As if I care ...Ahhh.."

His fingers tightened around her chin, making her whimper in pain.

"Nobody cares about you either, Miss. Jennifer Mathews. I guess I should have dragged the matter to the court, humiliated you in front of all the nobles and country people , and then sentenced you to death for trying to kill your Duchess. I was a fool to keep it a hush matter. But not anymore. If you want this to be the other way, then other way it is. But trust me Jennifer, it's because of your Father's years of loyalty towards this country that I am keeping mum about this, or else I would have gone with the other way sparing me all this scene. So now you have two choices. Either get lost from here, or we can involve the judiciary here, OK? "

Jennifer jerked his hand away from her chin, her blazing eyes boring holes in his majestic form. Her eyes moved towards the bed, which was empty. "Your wife isn't here. Having fun with that lass? Of course you are, or else why would you so willingly leave your scoundrel-hood, right? But , your majesty, have you told her that she is not the first one you are having fun with? Have you told her about me? Don't you think I should tell her before getting lost from here?" She asked, and it very much satisfied her ego beholding his sudden pale face. "What happened, my Lord? Doesn't your little wife know about your life before she was forced on you?"

"You .." He caught her arms. "You are not going to tell her anything. Just f**king get lost from here..."

"Don't cuss, my Lord. What's wrong in telling about us to your wife? It was all before your marriage, she shouldn't have any problem with that. Or would she? "

Arnav gritted his teeth. Only if he could kill her. Kusi isn't aware about such relationship shared between man and woman. For her only husband and wife can kiss eachother, forget about doing other things. He cannot tell her about all this before he explains her that there is nothing wrong in man and woman kissing and touching eachother before they are committed or married.

"What happened, my Lord? Would the truth ruin the wonderful fairy world you have created for her and yourself?" She caressed his hard face with her fingers. "What a mess, right?"

And then adding more to the mess, he heard the door open, and immediately pushed Jennifer away. He turned to look at his wife coming in through the joined door.

Khushi looked at the two in front of her, her eyes resting on her husband. "Why were you shouting?" She asked in a sleep infused voice.

"Kusi ..." Arnav walked and stood in front of her. "What are you doing here? Come..." he took her hand in his, his heart thudding really loudly. He just wants to take her away from here.

But Khushi stopped him and lifted her eyes to look at him. "Please don't scold her, she was only helping me.." her beautiful eyes looked into his with so much innocence.

"Oh he wasn't scolding me, my lady.." Jennifer cooed and walked towards them. "I am so sorry for that day, my lady. I didn't knew that horse was wild.." she smiled at her Duchess and then looked into her Duke's warning eyes. "Hope you forgive me .."

Khushi smiled. "I forgive you.."

"That's so so so sweet of you, my lady .. Thank you so much. .. Actually I came here to tell you that ..."

"We are getting late, Kusi ..let's go ..." he gave a tug to her hand, "Come..."

"Just a moment, my Lord. Why so hurry? It's still so early .." Jennifer said, making Khushi stop.

"She wants to tell something to me. I should listen, right?" Khushi smiled at her husband and turned to look at Jennifer.

Arnav just stood there looking at her, fear gripping his heart.

"Actually I wanted to ask that ..." she looked at Arnav and smiled. "That ..that, my lady , may I attend your birthday party tomorrow, please?"

Khushi's eyes danced with glee, and without waiting for a second, she gave the permission. "Yes ... Akash Bhaiya said everyone is coming, you too can come ..."

Arnav's blazing eyes looked at Jennifer. This cunning witch! Without waiting for another second, he took his wife's hand in his and dragged her inside his room.

Locking the door, he made his wife stand in front of him. "Why did you give her the permission to attend your birthday party, Kusi?" Arnav asked, his voice angry.

Khushi looked at him confused. "She wanted to come... How can I refuse her?" She asked innocently.

Arnav closed his eyes and ran his hand over his face. How can he tell her about Jennifer? She will never understand. He opened his eyes to look at her.

"Kusi, you FOOL!" He shouted , frustrated. "Your Nani had taught you everything BUT the things you should really know. What am I supposed to do with you? I am a bloody Duke, I have so many things to look after. I cannot roam everywhere with you, protecting you, taking care of you. YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU, YOU FOOL! ..." And then he stopped suddenly he saw a tear roll down her cheek. "Kusi .." he tried touch her cheek, but she moved back. "Kusi ..."

"Don't shout at me... don't shout at me .." she smacked his chest with her little fist. "You had told it's my birthday, I can invite anyone. Then why are you shouting at me, tell me tell me ... Hume nahi karni koi party..." she continued smacking her husband's chest.

Arnav stood there, amused. Least affected by her tiny fist smacking him. "You forgot what your Nani-maa taught you? I could marry someone else if you misbehave with me.." he teased, but face remained hard, not giving away anything.

Khushi stopped smacking and looked into his eyes. "But you told you will not marry anyone else no matter what .." and with that she started smacking his chest again.

"You little thing .." he picked her in his arms. "I am spoiling you, ain't I?" He took her inside her room. "Now go and take your bath. And listen to me carefully, you will stay away from Jennifer, she is not a good lady. Do you get me?"

"Do you get me?" she mimicked him.

"You brat.." Putting her down, he caught her chin and placed his lips on hers, giving her a slow and toe-curling kiss. "Now.." he breathed hard on her lips. "You disobey me, and there will be no magic for one week. Now do you get me?" he smirked.

"Kya!!" she shouted, horrified.

"Yes. Now tell me, you will stay away from her or not?"

Khushi pouted. "Yes."

"Good girl.." he patted her cheek.

"But I want something ..." She smiled her charming smile.

Arnav's shoulder slumped. She and her never ending wishes. "Now what is it?"

"You will come with me to that big Lake behind the Palace?"

"Lake? Why?"

"I will tell you, but you will come with me na?" she caught his sleeve.

Arnav shook his head. "What are you? Puppy? Always tugging at my sleeve.."

"Puppy...Puppy means dog ... You are calling me dog?" her big round eyes asked him.

"Yes.." he picked her by her waist and started towards her bathroom. "A very adorable and cute one ..." he kept her near her bathtub and smiled.

"But its still a dog.." she pouted.

"OK, I am sorry ...Fine? "

Khushi smiled. "Fine! Now go, I want to take bath, and then we will go to that Lake.." she clapped her hands in glee.

"When did I said yes, Kusi.." Arnav asked as he turned to leave.

"You did. You forgot.."

Arnav chuckled as he closed the door of her bathroom. "Of-course I forgot.."

Arnav took her to the beautiful Lake located behind his palace. The deep blue water adding serenity to the green surrounding. He looked down at Khushi, who stood there in awe, taking in the beautiful scenery.

"It looks so beautiful from near.." she grinned.

"So? Why you wanted to come here, Kusi..? And what is inside that chest?" He pointed at the small chest in her hand.

Khushi lifted the chest and opened it.

Arnav looked inside the chest to see so many small stones resting there. He frowned. " Stones? You have collected stones, Kusi?"

Khushi nodded her head. "When you had gone away, I use to cry everyday. Everyday I use to take one stone and keep in this chest? "

Arnav looked at her, guilty. "And why is that?"

"Whenever I cry, I collect one stone and then throw in water..." she smiled and lifted her eyes to look at him. "Then those bad days never come back and we forget the sad memories... "

Arnav smiled at her innocent logic. "Really? Who said this to you?"

"I said ..."

He chuckled. "Ofcourse you did. Who else could think of something like this.."

"I am not lying... " she took his hand in hers and started dragging him near the Lake. "Now I will throw it the water , and then you will never go away from me.."

Arnav sat beside her as she sat on the grass. Well she was right about the last part. Now it's impossible to live without her. As he saw her, she kept the chest beside her and started leaving the stone one by one in the water.

Khushi finished throwing all the stones and smiled at him. "Finish!"

"This is all why you wanted to come here?" Arnav asked as she stood. He followed her.

"Yes. " She took his hand in hers as they started back home. "Tomorrow Maria Jiji will come back. She wrote to Akash bhaiya. Her Grandmother is fine now."

"That's good..."

"Yes. And then she too can attend my birthday party.."

Arnav smiled at the excitement in her voice. But a sudden fear invaded his heart soon. Jennifer too is coming to the party. That woman is capable of doing anything. He looked at Khushi's smiling face. But he will not allow her to ruin the day for his Kusi.
