Thank you so much! I wanted to show Ishita's weaker side with the mall incident, but didn't know it was something that would happen in real life, thank you for sharing that. I always wanted to add such a scene where Raman would hug her and console her, and glad you wanted one such scene as well! Glad you like the ring exchange and their texts are definitely becoming more and more open. They are still hesitating to move on, but are slowly getting there unknowingly. I didn't have her write Raman since it wouldn't be something genuine from her side anyways, so this way it represented Ruhi, one reason she is getting married to him. Thanks for liking the writing! Will try and update soon!

But it may be a friendly hug tooo... and when you console someone you can't think of such things... but seeing her cry he also started to feel that was something a progressive sign for me...Their ring exchange was awesome... It showed their present condition.. initial hesitation then acceptance...Texts wereš³...Ofcourse, they will progress and their inhibitions will go in air...Im expecting an Update soonerš³P.S I Love Your Writing...
OMG! 60+ likes! I feel like I am imagining things. I seriously cannot thank you all enough for this. The lovely comments I get and the many likes is so overwhelming! All I can do to thank you all is give you updates as fast as I can and that's exactly what I will do!
Quick Note: It's 12am on a Sunday night where I live, I have proof read for once, but I am sure there will be weird spelling and grammar mistakes, so kindly ignore them...And one small things; I hardly know much about weddings, so I make a mistake in the order of events or mess anything up, please point it out in your comments, so I will know for next time. Thank you and enjoy!
The Wedding Day
This was actually happening! She thought as she sat looking at herself in the mirror all dolled up in the dress he bought and the tons of jewelry her mother had bought. She was about to marry the great CEO Raman Kumar Bhalla. She was having mixed feelings about the whole process. She was so happy she was going to marry a man who was caring and sincere and who accepted her child, but this marriage was after all a compromise for the two of them. They would stay as friends for their whole lives living as friends together and raising their kids as parents. That's all her life would be! But she was happy, happy that her child had a father. She placed her hand over her stomach...
"Finally you will have a father!"
He was really doing this! He thought as he sat in his car being driven to the marriage hall. He was going to marry Ms. Ishita Iyer. The same Ishita Iyer who had he been forced to meet and been rejected by in one go. And now they were marrying each other for their kids, but he didn't know what he felt. He was glad he had a mother for Ruhi, a woman who loved Ruhi liked her own and had even become his friend over time, but there would never any love in this marriage since it was just a contract for them. He would spend his life with his friend and raise their kids with her. But he was happy today, happy Ruhi had a mother. He looked over at Ruhi who was playing with her dupatta very seriously, he ran his hand over her head...
"Finally you will have a mother!"
~~~~~~
Mihika ran into the room with their cousins and told her to finish whatever she needed to do since Raman had arrived. She for the first time was sure of what she felt; she was content. Content with whatever she was getting a daughter through Ruhi's love, a caring friend in him, and a motherly figure in Mrs. Bhalla. This marriage was giving her more than she had ever expected. She went to the window of the room hoping to get a glimpse of him and Ruhi, but the crowd of people surrounding them made it impossible to see them. She sat down disappointed, but knew this was only for a while, since she would be with them forever.
He was welcomed by her parents who stood at the entrance waiting for him. Her Amma performed an aarti as he looked around to see if he could spot her anywhere, but she was nowhere to be seen and on top of that, he had been caught by Mihika.
"Jiju, relax Akka is upstairs getting ready. It's just a while more and she's all yours."
He shook his head and smiled his lopsided smile at her.
"I wasn't looking for her...I was just checking the decor."
"Sureee..." She replied sarcastically.
He entered the beautifully decorated place and everyone got busy chatting away and feasting on the snacks as they waited for the bride. He waited by the mandap and met her relatives who he didn't have a chance to meet before and got busy chatting with her cousins about his business. Until...
There was a sudden crowd forming on the other side of the room and he looked to see what it is all about and as he saw her, he knew the reason people where gathering around. She looked like a goddess right now. She gracefully carried the red lehenga and the shiny jewelry, her makeup was minimal yet flawless. Her hair was covered with her dupatta, but he could tell her long locks were put up into a bun that had been surrounded by flowers, her huge smile topped it all off wonderfully. She sneaked glances at him as she walked over, he was looking his best today. He wore a white sherwani and looked at her with his deep brown eyes. He resembled the man she had found attractive on the cover; the clean shaven look enhancing his features, the fancy watch, and the dimpled smile topped it all off. She slowly made her way across the hall and stood next to him. She took his handsome appearance while he looked clearly smitten by her bridal look. Mihika noticed the two staring at each other and couldn't help but tease them.
"Akka, Jiju we all know you two look great, but enough of the staring. Do that later when you're alone."
Ishita scolded her with her eyes and looked at the ground avoiding Raman while he enjoyed the small banter between the sisters like usual. Mihika ran off to her mother leaving them alone. Ishita asked for Ruhi and he looked around for his mother to point her and Ruhi out. His mother came up to him and Ishita asked to hold Ruhi. She was dressed in a sparkly lehenga and had small shiny bows on her head holding back her growing hair. Awed by the jewelry on Ishita, she reached out to her earrings, and he held her hand stopping her.
"No Ruhi...Ms. Iyer let me hold her otherwise she will pull your jewelry."
He extended his arms reaching out to her and disappointed she handed Ruhi to him. Seeing her disappointed, he moved slightly closer to let Ruhi come closer so Ishita could play with her without having Ruhi trouble her. They both talked to Ruhi in a childish tone and were unknowingly clicked by the photographer and many of the guests. Their small moment was disturbed by their parents as they brought over garland for them to exchange. As his cousins came over to lift him up, he refused knowing her relatives were unaware of her pregnancy and there was no way he was letting her get hurt at any cost. Though it earned him a lot of teasing, there was one person who didn't say a word; his sister-in-law who never left a chance to pull his leg smiled at him knowing he would fulfill all the promises he made. He asked Ishita to put the garland around his neck and didn't move an inch as she did the needed. He repeated the same, earning a loud applause of everyone in the hall.
Without waiting much further, he was told to sit down and he did as he was told. She sat down next to him with the help of Mihika. Her hand was given into his by her father with tears in his eyes. Her tears also started to form, but stopped them as he gave her father a reassuring nod. His cousin sisters came forward with Ruhi and tied his scarf to her dupatta as Ruhi fiddled with them. They both smiled and looked at the reason they were being tied together, their children.
They stood up again tied together to take seven rounds of the sacred fire. She started off in the front and they completed the first 4 rounds with synchronised steps as everyone around them celebrated their union, they would look at each other being reminded this was only for the kids, bringing a sad smile to both the faces. As he took the lead for the last 3 rounds, her steps started to slow down as she became tired and as he noticed, he slowed himself to her pace. He looked back and their eyes met, they were both getting a feeling that right now, this moment was for them, not for anyone else. Maybe this wasn't completely a compromise, a wave of confusion hit them and they both tried to convince themselves they were being too selfish and expecting more out of this marriage, which was impossible.
As they sat down after finishing their pheras, he was forwarded a plate with a manglasutra and sindoor placed it. He picked up the beaded chain and turned towards her. As he came closer to tie the chain, they both closed their eyes & took a deep breath as they thought about their exes for a moment. She needs her to fill the void you left, he thought. The baby needs him to fill in the empty space you left, she thought. They successfully convinced themselves it was only for the kids. He opened his eyes and waited for her to look up. She open her eyes and looked at him. She nodded positively and he went ahead to tie the manglastura around her neck. He took a pinch of the red sindoor and without a second thought filled her partition with it remembering the promise he had made to move on and not let anything hold him back for the happiness for his daughter and she smiled as he put the sindoor on her remembering she had done this for the child inside of her. They were now husband and wife only for their kids...at least that's what they believed...
