Episode 9: The Other Side of Luv
In the jungle, Luv had taken Riddhi to a safe place in what appeared to be a small cave. He found some nearby firewood which he used for a bonfire so the two could stay warm in the cave. Riddhi sat on the opposite side of Luv, who was fidgeting around with his phone. "Dang it! No signal!" Luv exclaimed.
"Well duh! We're in the middle of the jungle!"
"I was just trying, Arrowhead! Thanks to me, you're at least alive!"
"Whatever! I can't believe I have to stay here with you!"
"What's wrong with me?!"
"So many things! That's why you're on probation!"
Luv shook his head, while Riddhi kept quiet, trying to get warm by the fire. She then tried to rest against the cave wall, while Luv then took out his yellow notebook from his backpack and started writing in it. As he was writing, he started to sing, "In the jungle,the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight!" Luv's singing woke up an irritated Riddhi. "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps-"
"This lioness here is not going to sleep if you keep singing like Elvis over there!" Riddhi shouted. Riddhi rolled her eyes as she then tried to go back to sleep while Luv just shook his head and continued writing in his notebook. After some time, he put the notebook back in his backpack. As he put it back, he looked at Riddhi, who was sound asleep. He noticed that she was shivering as she laid against the cave wall.
Seriously?! Even with the fire around, she's still cold! Luv shook his head. He then went through his backpack and found his jacket inside. I was gonna wear this myself for the night. Luv rolled his eyes as he got up and then walked towards Riddhi, holding the jacket in his hands. He then sat beside her and grabbed hold of her as he then placed the jacket over her shoulders. While doing so, Riddhi's head fell right against his chest which startled him for a moment. Luv looked at Riddhi's innocent looking face as she rested her head on his chest. He then tried to move her off, and he placed her against the wall of the cave, letting her rest as she now wore his jacket. Luv then went back on the other side and rested on the ground.
"But sir, we have to go and find them!" Nikkita pleaded with Mr. Gabo. Aditya, Nikkita, and Disha had all gone to Mr. Gabo and explained the situation with Luv and Riddhi. "I understand, Nikki," Mr. Gabo said. "But you all shouldn't worry so much. This jungle is not as big as you all think. In fact, there are guards at the other end of the jungle. And there is nothing dangerous inside. So those two should be safe. We'll go get them early in the morning. Don't worry."
Early around five in the morning, Riddhi and Luv had both woken up at the same time, looking at each other as they both woke up. As the two got up, Riddhi looked at the jacket that she had on, surprised to see her have it. "This jacket?" Riddhi said. "How did I get this?"
"Oh...last night you were still feeling cold. So I just gave it."
"You mean this is yours?"
"Yeah. I had it for myself...but...you needed it more I guess."
Riddhi looked at Luv with a surprised look on her face. Who would have thought that Monkey Boy would have a heart like that? Riddhi asked herself. "Thanks." Riddhi said.
"What did you say?"
"You heard me."
"Not loud enough! Say it again!"
"Thank you! Now can you hear?!"
"Wow! Thats the second time since last night! Either I'm the best person in the world or you're just really sick!"
"Probably the second one. You're such a moron!"
"You call your savior a moron?!"
"You're no Superman who I should kneel down before! Savior my foot!"
"Zero appreciation!"
"Can we get out of here already?!"
"Fine! Let's leave the cave and we'll head out."
But as they moved out of the cave, Riddhi could hardly move as her foot was still paining. Luv turned to her, seeing her struggle to move. Yaar! Her foot still hasn't healed yet! Luv thought to himself. Luv went ahead and lifted Riddhi, who surprisingly didn't scream this time. She just held on while Luv took her out of the cave.
Outside of the cave, Luv remained still as he still held onto Riddhi. "You can put me down now, you know." Riddhi told Luv.
"Please! You can't even walk! You think I can just leave you here like that?"
"What do you mean?"
"Um...I mean...I can't...you know what I mean! Let's just go already!"
While Luv looked ahead as he carried Riddhi in the jungle, Riddhi couldn't keep her eyes off of him. You know...there's something strange about him, Riddhi thought to herself. Whenever you look at him, you see some troublemaking hooligan. But there are times where I see something beyond that. But I can't pick up on it. Is there really more to him then what means the eye?
As Luv walked further, he stopped, seeing Aditya, Nikkita, Disha, and Mr. Gabo walking towards the two. Once they came to Luv and Riddhi, Nikkita said, "Thank God you two are all right!"
"But why are you carrying her?" Aditya asked Luv.
"Oh...," Luv mumbled. "Um...-"
"I injured my foot so I can't really walk." Riddhi said.
"You two are lucky we found you before anything could happen!" Mr. Gabo told Luv and Riddhi. "Nikki, Disha, take Riddhi along with you."
While Luv put Riddhi down, Nikkita and Disha helped her walk. Riddhi turned to Luv for a moment as she walked with Nikkita and Disha. And right behind her, Luv stood still while Aditya brought him along.
Back at the camp site, the whole gang had returned along with Mr. Gabo. After everyone had eaten, Mr. Gabo rallied up the students. "Okay, students! We're going to go in now!" Mr. Gabo told the students. "Everyone has to stick together while we stay in the jungle, okay?"
"Ridz, you sure you can stay here by yourself?" Disha asked Riddhi.
"Yeah. I'll be fine," Riddhi assured. "You guys go ahead. I've seen enough of the jungle for one night alone."
"Okay," Nikkita agreed. "But you just stay here. Don't go anywhere else!"
"And if you need something to eat, Disha left some food for you in the tent." Aditya told Riddhi.
"Disha? Leaving food for me?" Riddhi asked, surprised.
"Very funny! Just don't touch my pizza!" Disha exclaimed.
With that, Aditya, Nikkita, and Disha followed the other students with Mr. Gabo as they all headed into the jungle. Riddhi stayed behind, trying to rest her foot against a rock as she sat on the ground. As she tried to get up, she was startled to see Luv coming towards her. And in that same startled moment, Riddhi fell and was caught by Luv, right in his arms. The two of them looked into each other's eyes as Luv held onto her.
Riddhi then stepped back, sitting back down on the ground while Luv put his backpack on the ground. "What are you doing here?!" Riddhi asked Luv. "Shouldn't you be going with the others?!"
"Hey! You think you can stay here by yourself?!"
"Yes!"
"Well you can't."
"And why can't I?!"
"Do you see how injured you are?! Someone has to stay here to look after you."
"Hello! I'm your probation officer! I'm the one always looking after you!"
"Well...I guess roles change then."
Luv then sat down on the boulder and looked at Riddhi's foot as she struggled to elevate it. Luv then went ahead and grabbed hold of her foot, looking at the injured area. "Now how am I going to walk?!" Riddhi asked.
"I have an idea."
"What idea?!"
"Just trust me on this."
Riddhi looked confused as Luv maintained a tight grasp on Riddhi's foot. And then, he turned her foot, cracking the foot bone. "OWW!" Riddhi screamed as she then jumped in pain. "What's wrong with you?! You want to put me in even more pain?!"
"Look now." Luv smirked. Confused, Riddhi then looked down to see she was standing on her own two feet. She opened her mouth in excitement. "Oh my gosh! I can stand now!" Riddhi exclaimed. She then started jumping up and down. "I can jump! The pain's all gone now! Look! I can jump!"
As Riddhi jumped in excitement, Luv couldn't help but crack a smile. Riddhi then turned to Luv, who was still looking at her. "Well...you seem okay now," Luv said. "I'm gonna go back with the class. You can come if you want." And with that, Luv went ahead and walked forward back into the jungle, while Riddhi looked on. Thanks, Luv, Riddhi said to herself. Thanks. Riddhi then followed Luv and the two went back into the jungle.
