Chapter 42 - You and I are Finally We
Link to: Table of Contents
2 weeks later...
Meher finished laying out her wedding dress and various boxes of jewelry in her room at the Juneja's luxury hotel in Ludhiana. The beautician would be here soon to do her makeup, and she would get ready for her wedding for what seemed like the umpteenth time. She hoped this time though, it would be for good. Meher looked over everything one last time before pausing to pick up her phone. She knew there were no missed calls on it, but she checked it anyway.
It had been 2 weeks and there had been no calls, messages or surprise visits from Preet. He had been upset when he left. She had been the one to ask him to go to Mumbai in the first place, so she couldn't really blame him, but his complete absence from all the subsequent wedding festivities had begun to worry her. Just then there was a knock on her door.
"Come in", said Meher.
"Hey Meher", smiled Maya, as she entered the room carrying a small cat. "Look who I found wandering outside".
"Romeo!" Meher cried in delight. She took her cat from her friend and hugged him. "How are you? Oh, I've missed you so much!"
"And look who the cat dragged in...so to speak", laughed Maya, as she pointed to the door.
"Surprise!" yelled Sam.
"Sam!" smiled Meher. She ran to greet her friend with a warm embrace. "I'm so happy to see you! How are you feeling?"
"I have my days, morning sickness and all you know...but I was not about to miss your big day for anything", smiled Sam. "And neither was Romeo".
"Thanks for bringing him with you, and I'm so glad you're finally here", said Meher. "Maya has been complaining non-stop about the bride's side being severely out-numbered by the groom's side in everything".
"Sorry we couldn't make it earlier, but it's been really hectic at work for Gaurav ever since Preet left", explained Sam. "And he couldn't exactly tell Mr. Bakshi that he needed time off to attend Preet's wedding you know. But there was no way we were going to miss the main event. I would have killed him if we had. So...how are you feeling now that the big day is finally here? Nervous?"
"A little", smiled Meher. "Where is Gaurav Bhaiya?"
"He's at the Juneja house, getting our stuff settled in, but I couldn't wait so I came straight over here", said Sam. "He sends his best wishes, and he hoped you'd understand he's going to join the wedding party on Preet's side".
"Of course", smiled Meher. "So...um...does that mean Preet is back? I mean, did he come to Ludhiana with you guys too?"
"No", said Sam. "Why would he come with us? I mean, Gaurav did mention that he stopped by the office last week, but it was only to drop off his resignation. He didn't even stop by our place for dinner or anything, but I assumed it was because he was in a rush to get back home for all the wedding ceremonies".
"Ha! He didn't come back for anything", complained Maya. "He didn't even show up for the sangeet! We totally missed out on any leg pulling we could do?"
"What?!" said Sam.
"Gaytri Aunty gave us some lame excuse about her son-in-law Kiran having come all the way from Canada and that since there was just a handful of them, the guys went off to do something together, and how it was going to be fun to have a ladies only sangeet night for a change, but I have my suspicions. I don't think Preet ever came back", said Maya.
"Maya...you're not making me feel any better you know", sighed Meher.
"Meher, what is this I'm hearing? Is everything alright between you and Preet?" asked Sam.
"I don't know", sighed Meher. "I keep asking Heer Didi about him, but she just smiles and says she's sure he'll come back for the wedding. And I didn't have the nerve to ask his mom anything, especially after what happened".
"What happened?" asked Sam.
Meher explained to her friend about the elders not wanting Preet and her to meet before the wedding. And how after being caught breaking the rules in a most embarrassing way, she had insisted on him going to Mumbai. "Let's just say that he wasn't exactly a happy camper that I didn't side with him on this issue".
"I can understand how Preet must have felt", said Maya. "Poor thing. I mean technically speaking you 2 are already married, you were newlyweds in fact. You guys should have been honey mooning it up and instead get slapped with a month long separation".
"It was 2 weeks", Meher corrected her.
"You have to look at it from a guy's perspective Meher", said Maya. "Two weeks or 2 years...it's all the same to them, when they'd much rather be spending it with you doing you know what".
"Maya!" blushed Meher.
"Well it's true", chuckled Maya.
"Yes but we can't always blindly follow our heart's desire all the time", said Sam. "Tradition, culture, society...all of that matters too", said Sam.
"Yeah yeah...boring!" said Maya, rolling her eyes.
"Plus not everyone knew of Preet and Meher's secret marriage in Mumbai", Sam continued, ignoring Maya's remark. "You know how people are, they're always looking for an excuse to talk nonsense, and Gaytri Aunty probably did want any of that. And imagine if someone published some kind of rubbish in the papers. Gossip mongers would have loved that".
"You're both right", sighed Meher. "All I know is that Preet was upset when he left, and I haven't heard from him since. He's never behaved this way before. I just hope he shows up today".
"Meher don't worry. Preet loves you more than anything else in this world, of course he'll show up", smiled Maya.
"Yes. He's probably just giving you a hard time in order to get even with you. You know how guys are, they can be so immature sometimes. Anyway, there is one way to put your mind at ease", said Sam. "I'll call Gaurav. He'll know what's going on over at the Juneja house". She pulled out her phone and called her husband.
Meanwhile...
"It's Sam", said Gaurav, as he stared at the name on his phone's caller ID.
"I knew it!" said Preet, as he snatched the phone from his friend's hand. "I knew she'd call as soon as she met Meher. Women...they're so predictable".
"Woh sab to theek hai (That's all well and good), but what do I do now?" asked Gaurav.
"Answer the phone like you normally would", said Preet. "Just don't tell Sam I'm here".
"Preet, I can't lie to my wife!" said Gaurav.
"I'm not asking you to lie, just be selective in what you tell her", said Preet. "You know...be vague. You can be vague. I know you can. I've seen you do it at work often enough. I'll step outside of the room if you want, that way you won't be lying when you say I'm not here. But you have to promise me you'll keep your mouth shut, else I'll never speak to you again".
"But...", said Gaurav.
"No buts Gaurav", warned Preet, as he handed the phone back. "I'm standing right outside".
Gaurav took a deep breath and answered his phone. "Hi honey".
"Hi Gaurav, what took you so long to answer your phone?" asked Sam.
"Um...it was sort of out of my hands", mumbled Gaurav.
"What?" said Sam.
"Nothing. Uh...did you want something?" asked Gaurav.
"Yes. I wanted to remind you that I packed the camera in your black overnight bag. Don't forget to bring it with you", said Sam.
"Okay", said Gaurav.
"It must be really hectic over there", said Sam. "Don't forget to lend a hand".
"Actually Heer Bhabi and Gaytri Aunty have everything under control", said Gaurav. "And since everything is taking place at the hotel it's pretty quiet at the house. In fact, I was thinking of watching a match on TV before getting ready".
"Oh...okay...well...give the phone to Preet. I want to wish him good luck", said Sam.
"Preet?" said Gaurav.
"Yes...Preet...the groom", said Sam. "We're here to attend his wedding remember?"
"Yes I know, but...woh...I don't think...I mean...he's not exactly here", stammered Gaurav.
"What do you mean he's not there?!" cried Sam.
"How am I supposed to know? I'm just a guest here?" said Gaurav.
"Do you realize that the wedding is only a couple of hours away?" cried Sam.
"So?" said Gaurav.
"So...he's your chaddi buddy, go find him!" cried Sam. She hung up the phone and gave Meher an apologetic look. "Okay...maybe we should be just a little worried".
"Sorry Sam", said Gaurav, as he put his phone away. He turned and glared at his friend. "I can't believe I just did that! Meher is like a younger sister to me".
"And I'm your best friend. Plus, I've known you longer", said Preet.
"Poor girl. She must be freaking out after that phone call", said Gaurav, shaking his head. "It's supposed to be the best day of her life".
"Hey! She's the one who started this by insisting on following all of Ma's rules to the T", said Preet. "Now it's my turn to have a little fun by making her squirm a little". He put his arm around Gaurav's shoulders. "Come on yaar, where's your sense of humor?"
"You call torturing a girl on her wedding day funny?" said Gaurav.
"No. I call it getting even", said Preet.
"I never knew you to be so stubborn Preet", said Gaurav, shaking his head. "Remind me never to rub you the wrong way".
"If you're done analyzing my psyche do you mind if we get ready?" said Preet. "I've got a wedding to get to".
Later...
"Someone tell me what time it is again" said Gaytri.
"It's 5 minutes from the last time you asked Ma", sighed Veera.
"I don't believe it. We have to be leaving soon and this boy is still not here!" cried Gaytri. "I know he was angry at everyone, but is this any way for him to behave? And...what will we do if he doesn't show up?"
"It would be a bit much even for Preet Bhaiya", said Veera. "Still, considering he didn't come to the sangeet, I wouldn't put it past him"
"Hai Bhagwan! What will I say to everyone?" cried Gaytri.
"Ma relax", said Prem. "Maybe he's just running late".
"Try his phone again", Heer urged Prem.
Just then the family heard foot steps coming from the stairs. They turned around to see Preet dressed in his wedding finery, coming down with Gaurav in tow.
"Well...well...isn't this nice Gaurav?" said Preet. "The entire Juneja clan is gathered together, just waiting for me to show up".
"Preet! Where did you come from?" asked Heer.
"From upstairs", he replied non-chalantly.
"You mean you've been in your room getting ready the whole time?!" his sister Kulraj cried.
"Yup!" said Preet.
"And you knew about this?" Heer asked Gaurav sternly.
"Hey! I'm just a guest here, remember?" winced Gaurav.
"If this was a joke, it wasn't funny Preet", said Prem. "Do you have any idea how worried we all were, especially Ma?
"I don't see why", said Preet. "Ma was the one who told me to stay away from Meher in the first place. I was only doing what she wanted me to".
"Since when do you ever do what I say?!" Cried Gaytri.
"You know Ma, I'd love to get into a discussion with you on this topic, but I think we should head over to the hotel", said Preet, as he glanced at his watch. "A girl I'm already married to is over there, waiting for me to marry her again, and I don't want to be late".
"Oh forget it!" Cried Gaytri, as she threw her hands up in the air. "Heer call the Maans and tell them we're on our way".
Meher was in much better spirits since her friends had arrived. The girls were busy chatting up a storm when there was a knock on the door, and Daljeet Chachee poked her head inside. "Heer just called. The baraat is on its way to the hotel as we speak".
"Thanks Chachee", smiled Meher.
"Looks like Preet plans to show up for the wedding after all", chuckled Maya.
A shortwhile later...
Maya rushed into Meher's changing room. "The baraat is here!" she cried excitedly. "Oh my God! You should see Preet. He is looking so amazingly handsome! Your Chachee wants you to be prepared to come down". She helped Meher stand up then began to gather the fall of her dress.
"Maya wait", said Meher. "Did you by any chance see what kind of a mood Preet was in? Did he seem upset?"
"I don't know. I couldn't tell from upstairs", said Maya. "Anyway what difference does it make. You guys are already married, so it's not like he's not going to go through with the wedding. Now come on...let's go!"
Maya led Meher to the balcony where her other friends including Sam were waiting for her.
"Look", whispered Maya, pointing at Preet. "There's your prince charming".
"You were right", sighed Meher.
"About him looking handsome?" asked Maya.
"About not being able to tell what kind of a mood he's in from up here", said Meher.
"Uff ho Meher! Would you please stop worrying and enjoy yourself for a change", said Sam. "You're getting married!"
"How can I enjoy myself if I don't know whether Preet is still upset with me or not?" sighed Meher.
"Yeah...I can understand where you're going with this. You don't want him in a crappy mood on your wedding night. Well...there is one way to find out", said Maya, as she plucked a flower from one of the garlands decorating the balcony.
Before Meher could stop her, she aimed it towards Preet, and threw it as hard as she could. It landed right on his head. Preet looked up in surprise, and saw Meher standing with her friends. She offered him a small smile, but he didn't return the gesture. Instead, he turned back to talking with his brother-in-laws Nihal and Kiran.
Meher pretended not to be hurt by his reaction.
"I guess you were right", frowned Maya. "He is still upset".
Just then Daljeet Chachee came running upstairs. "Let's go girls. Pandit Ji wants the bride and groom in the mandap".
This was it, thought Meher. Her nerves had been a tight little knot in her stomach ever since this morning, and they wrenched even tighter now. She would have to be patient and wait for the ceremony to end before sorting things out with Preet.
With the help of her friends, Meher slowly made her way downstairs, where her Chacha was waiting for her. He kissed his niece on her head, then took her arm in his and proudly led her to where Preet was waiting for her.
It had been 2 long weeks since they had seen each other, and despite the fact that he was still a bit miffed at her, Preet couldn't ignore just how beautiful Meher looked all dolled up in her wedding dress. He drew a deep breath and his eyes fixed on her lovely face, as she came and stood before him. She too looked up at him trying to read his face, but lowered her eyes under his scrutinizing gaze. Preet smiled as she wrung her hands nervously.
"Meher", whispered Daljeet. She nudged her niece and motioned to the thal (tray) she was holding with the wedding garlands.
"Oh...yes...I'm sorry", stammered Meher. She picked up a garland then reached up to place it around Preet's neck, but he surprised her by raising his head above her reach. Laughter broke out among the guests as she tried a 2nd time but failed.
"Hai Rabba, kitna shararti munda haiga", cried Daljeet. (Oh God, what a naughty boy he is!)
Meher frowned as amusement danced in Preet's eyes. She knew he was having fun at her expense, but she could do nothing except endure it at this time.
"Preet", said Gaytri, as she placed a hand on her son's arm.
He nodded, and bowed his head slightly to let Meher place the wedding garland around his neck, he then placed one around her neck too. The remainder of the ceremony went smoothly, as did the reception for the guests that followed thereafter.
Later...
Meher had been watching Preet carefully for quite some time now. He was behaving like the ideal groom, sitting up straight, making small talk and taking pictures with all the guests, even putting up with all the overbearing aunties. Everything was perfect except for the fact that he had barely spoken 2 words to her, nor had he looked in her direction unless it had been absolutely necessary.
Meher smiled politely as some more guest took pictures with them then moved off the dais. She glanced over at Preet again, and coughed trying to get his attention, but he continued to stare out ahead as though he was hypnotized. Meher couldn't take it anymore, and she was certainly tired of being ignored. She had finally made up her mind to say something to him, when Maya came up to them.
"Hey guys!" she smiled. "It was a lovely wedding! I'm so happy for both of you".
"Thanks Maya", said Meher. She gave her friend a hug. "I'm glad you were able to come".
"I wouldn't have missed it for anything", said Maya. "You're really lucky Meher. The decor, food, music, everything was planned so perfectly...a real picture book wedding. I was up for some fun and games, but Heer Didi claims she needs to attend to the guests, Sam's excuse for everything is her pregnancy, and Veera claims to have been threatened with extinction by your husband if she tried any pranks tonight. Speaking of which Preet, you gave my friend here quiet a scare. She almost thought you weren't going to show up".
"Maya please!" hissed Meher.
"Speaking of no shows, where is Herman?" asked Preet.
"In Europe on business. If he keeps this up I'm going to have to reconsider our engagement", chuckled Maya.
"Well you tell him to be careful", grinned Preet. "I wouldn't be surprised if someone snatches you away from right under his nose. You're looking stunning tonight".
Meher shot Preet a glare hot enough to toast bread. Hmph! He hadn't bothered to compliment her at all, she fumed.
"Oh Preet, you're ever the charmer", laughed Maya. "So, where are you guys going on your honeymoon? You are going on a honeymoon his time aren't you?"
"Uh...you know what, why don't you 2 continue your chat", said Preet. "I just saw someone I need to go say Hi to".
As he got up to go, Preet stole a glance at Meher with a satisfied grin. The way her fingers clutched the beaded purse sitting in her lap, she looked ready to chuck it, undoubtedly in his direction.
Later...
After the last of the guests and well-wishers offered them their congratulations, Preet and Meher once again took blessings from their elders, then took leave of their families.
Preet held out his hand to Meher. "Chalein (Shall we go)?" he asked.
Meher nodded.
Preet gently took her hand in his and led her to the elevators. They rode in silence up to the honeymoon suite of the Juneja's Luxury hotel. The room was beautifully decorated, with candles and vases filled with red roses. A bottle of champagne peeped out from an ice bucket on a nearby table, with 2 crystal flutes sparkling next to it. Meher heard the door close behind her and turned to face Preet. They were alone at last as husband and wife, with everyone's stamp of approval.
"Everything is so beautiful", smiled Meher.
"Hmm...", said Preet. He walked over to the bed and fingered one of the rows of white flowers surrounding it. "It's been a long day. I'm going to go change".
Meher was about say something, but he had already turned to go. She shook her head and walked over to the dressing table. She removed her heavy dupatta, carefully folded it and put it away, then removed her jewelry. She looked around and found her overnight bag lying nearby. She went through it and quickly located a change of clothes. She waited patiently for Preet to come out of the washroom. When he did, he still didn't say anything to her. Meher frowned and headed for the washroom. Things weren't exactly going as she expected.
A shortwhile later...
Preet was fluffing up the pillows on the bed when he heard someone behind him clear their throat. He turned around to see Meher standing before him in a pretty, pink, mid-thigh length, silky chemise, smiling shyly at him. Her long brown hair had been brushed straight and draped loosely around her shoulders, so that it swayed with her every movement, just the way he liked it.
For minute, Preet just stared at her with his mouth open. A smile pulled at his lips, then as if reminding himself that he was angry with her, he took a deep breath, turned around and went back to fluffing the pillows.
Meher's mouth fell open. "That's it Preet Juneja, we need to talk!" She walked over and stood across the bed from him with her hands on her hips.
"About what?" Preet asked innocently.
"About whatever is wrong?" said Meher.
"Nothing's wrong Meher", said Preet.
"Oh really?!" said Meher. "I'm standing in front of you practically naked, in this flimsy half baked excuse for a dress when you know I'd much rather be in my pajamas, just to make you happy and all you want to do is fluff the bed pillows! Something is definitely wrong!"
"Nothing is wrong Meher", said Preet. He passed his hand over his mouth in an attempt to control the full-blown smile that was trying to break out on his face. "I'm just really tired". He went back to arranging the pillows.
"Uff! You and your pillows!" Cried Meher. She picked up a pillow and threw it at him, which was silly she knew, but gave her a sense of satisfaction nevertheless.
He caught it, and put it down. "No pillow fights", he said shaking his head.
But Meher wasn't listening. She picked up another pillow and threw it at him this time hitting him squarely in the face.
"Meher, I'm warning you", said Preet.
She ignored him and reached for another pillow. Before she knew what happened, he pulled her down and pinned her to the bed with her hands caught above her head in his firm strong grip. She could feel her heart thudding loudly against his chest, as their eyes locked.
"Preet...no fair...you're a lot stronger than me", she said, as she squirmed beneath him.
"All's fair in love and war", he said.
"But I can't breathe...truce...please", she pleaded.
"Spoilsport...", Preet whispered in her ear. He smiled lazily as he moved off her, and her heart flipped over again.
Meher sat up and looked at Preet. "Why didn't you call me while you were in Mumbai?" she asked. "Were you so busy that you couldn't pick up a phone?"
Preet let out a heavy sigh. "No Meher, I wasn't that busy. You weren't taking my calls when I was in Ludhiana, so I just assumed you'd rather not hear from me while I was in Mumbai".
"And how about the way you behaved today?" said Meher.
"What was wrong with the way I behaved?" asked Preet. "I showed up on time. I was dressed to the nines. I smiled and took pictures with all the guests. Laughed at all of their bad jokes. I even let all the old aunties tweak my cheeks as much as they wanted. What more did you expect?"
"Preet...I'm talking about us. We hadn't seen each other for 2 weeks and then all day long you didn't say but 2 words to me. Do you have any idea how that made me feel?" asked Meher.
"Alone? Kind of like how I felt being away from you", sighed Preet. "You know Meher, I never really believed in love until I met you. I never knew I was missing that someone special I could share everything with. Someone I could hold in my arms and everything would be just perfect. Someone, who made me smile, be more confident, made me feel like I mattered. Someone who I could see a future, raise a family and grow old together with.
I'm sorry if I made you worry, and I'm sorry if my giving you the silent treatment took something away from our special day. Perhaps it was a little childish on my part, but after everything we went through with your kidnapping, I never wanted to be separated from you again. And yet, you sent me away so easily for stealing a few kisses, just to make my mom happy. It was as if suddenly everyone's feelings mattered to you except mine. I was hurt".
"For someone who hasn't said a word to me for 2 weeks, you sure said a mouthful", sighed Meher. "I'm sorry too Preet. I guess I was just doing what I thought our families expected of me. But I never meant for you to get hurt".
"Yeah...I guess it's okay", Preet said shrugging his shoulders.
"Hey! What's this?" Asked Meher. She had just noticed a small velvet box with a gold bow peeking out from under one of the pillows.
"Nothing", said Preet as he quickly grabbed the box and hid it behind his back.
"Come on Preet, show me what it is...please", said Meher, tugging at his arm. He finally relented and held out his hand with the little box in it. "A wedding gift?" she asked, flashing him a wide grin.
Preet gave her a soft smile and nodded. Meher removed the gold ribbon and opened the case. Inside was a gold chain with a gold pendant in the shape of a heart.
"I saw this is in a jewelry store, while I was in Mumbai, and I thought it would be perfect for you", said Preet. "Nothing too flashy or extravagant, simple yet sophisticated...just like you".
"It's beautiful Preet", said Meher. She put her arms around his neck and gave him a warm hug. "Thank you. Oh wait...there's a date engraved on it. Hmm...it's not my birth date, or your birth date. It's not our wedding date or the date we got married in the mandir. What is it then?"
"You really don't remember?" asked Preet.
Meher shook her head, and he had to smile at her embarrassment. He reached out and took her hand in his. It was soft and fit perfectly into his. "Well Mrs. Juneja, let me remind you then...this was the date...jab (when) we met, for the very first time, right on the stairs at my home in Ludhiana".
"Ah...of course", smiled Meher. "How can I forget? You accused me of stealing your mom's kangan that day".
"Uh...yes...well... It's funny how love changes your opinion of people", said Preet.
"I love it", laughed Meher. "Help me put it on".
Preet took the pendant from the box and fastened it around Meher's neck while she held her hair up. "How does it look?" she asked turning to face him.
"Perfect", smiled Preet. "So...do I get a gift too?"
"Gift?" said Meher. "Uh..."
"Oh come on Meher", sighed Preet. "It's our 2nd time around. You had a 2 weeks notice this time. I was right, you think of everyone except me". He stood up and folded his arms together pretending to be upset with her again.
"That's not true", said Meher. She tugged at his arm and pulled him back onto the bed, then laced her fingers with his and gave them a gentle squeeze. "Tumhe pata hai Preet? Tum gusse mein bauhat hi cute lagte ho" (You know something Preet? You look so cute when you're angry).
Letting her eyes meet his, she looped her arms around his neck and touched her lips to the corner of his mouth. Her touch slowly sliced away at Preet's angry facade leaving him practically defenseless. He pulled her closer to him, as she continued to lightly brush her lips across his jaw, then nibbled on his earlobe.
"Meher...", smiled Preet. "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to seduce you", whispered Meher. She kissed his neck, feeling his body grow tense. "How am I doing?"
"Great...", gulped Preet. "...But if you think this is going to make up for..."
"You know what I think Mr Juneja?" whispered Meher, as she slid her hand inside his half-buttoned shirt and traced a single finger nail across his chest.
"What?" he asked, his eyes never leaving her.
"I think you should make love to your wife", smiled Meher. She slid back further on the bed to make more room for him. Her dress had ridden high on her thighs, giving him a generous view of her legs, and her knees trembled, parting ever so slightly in silent invitation. She was just waiting for him to take her.
Unable to resist her any longer, Preet moved up closer to her, took her in his arms, and laid her back on the bed. His hands lovingly traced the curves of her hips and waist, then caressed her shoulders and cheeks, sending delicious shivers throughout her body.
"You know Mrs. Juneja...", he whispered. "That's the best thing I've heard you say all day". He kissed her sweetly, tenderly with a longing that was undeniable, until slowly, ever so slowly, he claimed her completely.
Epilogue
The gold locket Preet gifted Meher on their wedding night was not the only surprise he had in store for her. A few days later they left for their honeymoon to Europe, making sure to visit all the places Raj and Simran visited in Meher's favorite movie DDLJ.
At one point, they ran out of gas and were forced to spend the night in a barn. Meher was upset at Preet's carelessness, but he assured her it was all part of his master plan to make her relive all the DDLJ moments. 🤔 As night fell so did the temperature, but since they didn't have any matches, they couldn't light a fire. Preet didn't mind, he was more than happy to warm things up by sharing body heat with Meher. ☺️ She of course got back at him the next day, by visiting nothing but museums and churches. 😈
On their return to Ludhiana, Preet joined his elder brother Prem at the helm of Juneja Enterprises, while Meher took up work as a substitute teacher at the local elementary school.
A few months later, Sam delivered a healthy baby boy. Shortly thereafter, Gaurav took up Preet's offer to join him at Juneja Enterprises, and moved his family to Ludhiana. Although the 2 friends sometimes wind up driving Prem up the wall with their unique style of 'out-of-the-box' thinking, their employees are quite content, and claim to have the most fun bosses in the world.
Preet and Meher recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary with their family and friends, which includes their 2 bundles of joy...5 year old Gungun and 3 year old Krish.
Meher is now a firm believer of knights in shining armor and happy endings...after all she got hers with Preet. And it all began jab they met.
