Part 18

Darkness.
Anderi.
DARKNESS??
Khushi shrieked as she realized that the power in the Raizada Mansion has failed and everything has been engulfed in the darkness. Being scared of darkness ever since she was young, Khushi was bound to shriek.
And moreover, no one was there in the Mansion except Arnav, HP and herself as everyone was out for a Satsang.
Arnav had come running to his crazy wife, who was shrieking now like a child. Though engulfed in the pain of love, Arnav was lost in her ethereal beauty, as her hourglass figure stood bathing in the moonlight, which was the only source of light in the whole of the Mansion.
But the reverie had to break the hard way as one more shriek made its way out from Khushi's shivering lips. Arnav, who had realized it was time for action and not drooling, took long strides to Khushi.
Khushi who had her eyes shut due to fear, found herself held against the wall by a muscular person and the first thought in her mind was to scream. Oops..She was already shrieking but her voice wasn't coming out as it was stopped by Arnav, who shut her mouth with his rough manly palms.
" Khushi, just stop it! You are so hard on ears!" said Arnav, in a low voice.
Seeing Khushi getting relaxed, Arnav took away his palm from her mouth and let her speak. But the distance between them was of inches now.
" You are concerned about your ears when I am shivering here with fear due to darkness?" asked Khushi, in her stern businesswoman voice.
Arnav was seriously happy that she was speaking to him normally unlike her normal self, in which she gives only sarcastic or poetical replies to his statements or questions.
" You are scared of darkness? Like seriously?" said Arnav to feel her fuming even in the darkness. Sensing he didn't do a right thing, he said,
" Then let us take this darkness out. Let us go and check the fuse! But before that we need to light a candle or else who knows, I might die of shock!" said Arnav, as he didn't want Khushi to feel that she is hurting Arnav by demanding divorce from him. Because he wanted her to be beside him with her free will not by his force. Hence, he decided to act all calm and composed in front of her.
Khushi's fear seemed to take a backseat as she felt Arnav's presence near her.
Maybe this is how people feel when they are loved, thought Khushi, but immediately erased of the thought, that Arnav had no special feelings for her as he easily agreed for the mutual consent divorce.
Arnav held Khushi's hand with an authority that spread shivers across her spine. He took long strides to Pooja room when he knew there will be candles always.
And he was right, after all he was Arnav Singh Raizada.
Arnav had lit the candle while Khushi was all lost in Arnav in the candle light, which had just begun to spread its light. Arnav had turned to say that the work is done to see that Khushi is lost in him.
The surreal beauty in front of him, who had stolen the sleep of his nights was truly looking breath-taking in the candle light. Their gazes clashes and an eye-lock of passion and intensity took place.
Khushi found all the adoration and concern of the world in the eyes of the person, whom she loved more than herself. But Arnav, had found only pain in those doe-like eyes which were waiting for him from even before they named their love.
The eye-lock had to break as Khushi saw that Arnav forgot to discard the used matchstick which was still alight. She immediately made him throw away that matchstick by pushing it away, and breaking his reverie.
" Umm...Let us go and check the fuse board now!" said Arnav, sensing the awkwardness of the situation, they were into right now.
Khushi just curtly nodded at him for today silence seemed to be the most profound way to express their unsaid feelings to each other, than words could ever be.
She herself didn't what had happened to her after the sensuous dance at the party and the confrontation with Arnav. The feelings which she thought were dead in her were not really dead. They were dormant and now they were becoming active again.
Arnav guided the way to the fuse board to Khushi, who was still eyeing Arnav with Admiration and love in her eyes. Arnav began checking the connections of the fuse board while Khushi supported him by providing light to him, by holding the candle out for him.
" Nothing seems wrong here." muttered Arnav to himself. He was about to dig out his phone to call Aman to send the electrician but he realized that there was a Baba who had arrived from Himalayas to Delhi, which made everyone rush to Ramleela Maidhan.
So calling Aman to send someone would have been a waste of time and energy, and it certainly didn't go well with Arnav. Hence, he decided he will check the connection to the electric pole himself, rather than leaving Khushi to get more frightened as the time passed.
" Khushi, you wait here, I will have a look at the pole and be back!" said Arnav, with a voice filled with concern.
Khushi, who was lost in his reverie didn't realize what exactly she was supposed to understand here. But hearing him speak, made her get more lost and hence an automatic nod took place, which made Arnav think that Khushi gave her acceptance.
He called out to HP to bring a ladder to the pole and went outside.
------ On the Pole,

Arnav was hell nervous, but he couldn't show it due to his ego. And also, if he showed his nervousness, Khushi will keep getting scared due to the darkness and wouldn't his image as the fearless ASR get tarnished?

Damn these connections, thought Arnav.

Arnav was trying to join the wires of the electric pole so that electricity is back in Raizada Mansion. But due to the gloves on his hands, it was becoming difficult for him.

Hence he decided to take the gloves off, unaware of the fact that he can get a shock due to this.

Arnav took out the gloves and was trying to join the wires, when suddenly a spark took place and all Arnav sensed was a complete black out after a tinging pain in his body.

His almost lifeless body fell down from the ladder, while a voice screamed out,

"ARNAV!!"
