Great update -- very emotional one. the story of the older generation in flashbacks was awesome... loved it... felt really bad for Malik -- he loved Padmini all these years thinking she accepted him and his love -- but cant imagine what he would have felt the moment he heard Padmini confessing everything --- he had been living an illusion all his life... Padminis one sided love and her jealousy spolied soo many lives including Madhus and now when she realizes its too late... Malik would never be able to love her back again... so sad -- he must have waited for so long - 30 years - to hear Padmini say that she loves him and now when she said that he probably lost the desire to hear it...😭😭😭

Part 29

RK found himself standing at the gate of Malik Mansion. He had been too busy and pondering over the events of his life. Thinking about the best way t end the misery for all of them. He had even tried to forget all of it but was unsuccessfully. He took in a deep breath and entered. He walked hesitantly through the garden as his steps were still unsure if he should proceed or turn back.
Malik saw him standing at the door hesitantly. "Rishabh!" He said in a disbelief. Could it be possible that Rishabh was back in his house when he had least expected him to ever return.

RK looked up at him realizing that he had now reached the door.

"Is everything fine?" Malik asked him worriedly seeing the confusion on his face.

"I want to talk to the Malik whom I always looked upto.. to whom i always came to ask for solutions to all my problems.. the one who used to stand even against Dad for me.. yet would make me work according to what dad wanted from me.." he said with a slight chuckle through the daze that he was in.

Malik chuckled back hearing him. "I have always been that..." he said in a soft voice.

"Yeah.. it was me who was lost.." RK nodded his head disappointed.

"Forget it Rishabh... It was for the best.." Malik said.

"But what's happening now isn't for anyone's good. All of us are stuck up in a situation which seems nothing but a black hole.. ready to engulf us all.." RK said.

"Come in.." Malik said getting serious.

"No.. can we just walk in the garden.. or sit on those chairs.." RK said gesturing to the iron chairs on the side of the garden. He wasn't feeling comfortable in the house.

"I am so confused. Its like I am split up into many.." RK said to him as they had now settled. "A part of me tells me to just let that night stay where it was. And just move on in life, forgetting everything and have a peaceful life which I have longed for since 7 years. But another part accuses me of being selfish that way. It tells me how very disgusting I am to just think of myself forgetting the injustice done to my parents. One part says that Padmini aunty has already suffered to much, drowning in her guilt. But the other part tells me that whatever she might feel now, the truth of what she did won't change. her guilt wont get back mom-dad. There is so much confusion in me.. what should I do? .." RK said looking at him disheveled.

"Even I am having these conflicting thoughts.. Teared up between my selfish love for Padmini and my duty as a friend and brother for Mohan. Tons of regrets cluster my mind when I remember my life now.. Maybe if I hadnt done this or that, we wouldn't have landed here.. But in the end, all this has happened.. and I have a harsh reality to face now.." Mohan said defeated.

"What have you decided? What would you do?" RK asked looking at him hopefully as if to get his answer through him.

"I have decided to stay coward.." Malik said looking at him with a defeated smile. "This time Rishabh, I have put the weight of making the decision on you.."

"I had never imagined that being in control would one day make me feel so helpless.." RK said resting on the chair rest..

After some time RK entered his house. He was about to climb up the stairs when he heard someone call from behind.

"RK.." Dipali called out. A confused frown played on RK's lips. Why does she suddenly wants to talk? He turned around both curious and confused.

"Yes.." he said.

"Amm.. Why don't you sit on the dining table.. I will get you some tea and snacks.." she said frantically.

Has she gone out of her mind..? RK thought to himself. "Suddenly you want to serve me tea and snacks?" He said confused.

"Yeah.. You must be tired you see.. and besides I have prepared the snacks.. You dont need to bother Madhu.." she said smiling nervous and restless.

"Madhu.." RK murmured thinking something. Suddenly he was worried to the core. "Where is Madhu?" He asked.

"Madhu.. where can she be.. She must be somewhere in the house only.. Not a big deal.." she said nervously.

RK looked at her baffled. Due to some reason he felt that something around him wasn't right. He ran up in all his speed and reached their room. But it was empty. He went to the adjacent room but that was empty too. Still trying search for Madhu, he came down again.

"Where is she Dipali?" RK asked angrily.

"Why are you screaming at me?" Dipali asked back offended.

"I can be really bad Dipali and you know it.." he said clenching his teeth. Just then he heard a gasp from his parent's room.

He frantically ran to the room as he pushed the door open. What he saw, even he couldn't believe. Madhu was lying on top of a man, and both were on his parent's bed. He stood there trying to judge what he was seeing was actually there or he was hallucinating.

Madhu quickly got up from the bed as she looked at RK helplessly. She shook her head in denial, as if trying to negate all the accusations that might be forming in RK's head. RK looked at the man who was equally stunned.

"RK.. Its not what you think.." he said trying to act innocent but RK knew a bit too much.

"Madhu I am sorry.." Suddenly they heard Dipali breaking into cries from the other side as Madhu saw her stunned and confused.

"I tried to stop him but he was too worried for you not being here.. But I am sorry.." Dipali said sobbing.

Madhu's eyes went wider in shock. She just felt rooted to the ground as her tongue seemed to have dropped in her stomach.

RK closed his eyes as he drank the anger that was about to blow his head. He turned around and fumed away from there. Madhu was shook back to her senses seeing him walk away and she ran behind him. RK entered his room angrily while Madhu rushed behind him.

"Rishu.. please listen to me.. its not what you are thinking.. Rishu please... I am your Madhu.. please trust me.." she said frantically trying to defend herself as tears started rolling down her eyes.

RK raised his hand while still facing away in a gesture for her to stop. Madhu saw his hand and started crying even more.. "Rishu... I dont even know that man.. I dont know what all happened just now.."

"Stop Madhu..!" RK screamed at her. "Just stop it.." Madhu shook hearing him scream at her suddenly. She looked at him dreading for what he would accuse her of now.

"Dont insult yourself or me by giving excuses and defending yourself.. Dont I know you well enough to know whatever happened was real or staged?" RK asked her turning back.

Madhu was confused. Does he mean that he trusted her?

"But I am angry at you.. and I want to scream at you right now.. How many times did I tell you to stay away from that Dipali..? I would have kicked her out of our lives long back.. but you were bent on being the Cupid to no-one.. Now see, how she spat her venom on us.." RK said angrily running his hand through his hair.

"Rishu.. I didn't know that she would do something like this.. She was a nice girl.."

"No she wasn't.. you were the Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes here.. But being this much innocent isn't good Madhu.. Its foolishness!" He said angrily.

"I am sorry Rishu.." she said as she burst into sobs. "I usually go to Uncle-Aunty's room by this time to clean it. But today suddenly that man.. and then he pulled me and we fell.." she started muttering while in her cries.

"Shhh.. please don't try to explain anything.. I feel like we are being insulted.. I know you too much to believe that crap." He said holding her close as he hugged her tight. "Though Dipali doesn't know who I am.. seems like its time to tell her.."

Dipali was walking back and forth in the hall. She was confused. RK was a short tempered man. She expected him to burst out and by now Madhu's cries and defences must have been echoing in the house. But instead there was dead silence. She was apprehensive but still sure that whichever way, Madhu would soon be walking down the stairs defeated and maybe even out of the house.

She was still walking when she saw RK descending down the stairs in an angry stride. Well, is he going to leave the house? That won't be of much use to her. RK came down and looked around the hall. Soon Madhu too came down.

"Where is that Bas***d?" RK asked angrily.

"He ran away.." Dipali said pretending to be worried.

RK looked at her angrily. "Madhu.. he wasn't worth you.. dont be upset.. RK is right.. See.. he left you in the middle of a mess and ran for his own life.. he doesn't deserve you.."

RK breathed in his anger. "Madhu.. Do what I told you.." he said.

Madhu looked at RK and then at Dipali as anger descended her eyes. She couldn't believe she was the same girl whom she had decided to hand her Rishu. She walked to Dipali and then slapped her tight. RK smirked seeing her.

Dipali touched her cheek instantly and looked at Madhu stunned. "Its enough Dipali! I trusted you.. I thought you as my friend but you played such a cheap game with me?! I am so ashamed that I had ever decided to give Rishu to you.. But you are so disgusting!" Madhu scolded her with spite.

"What else do you think I would do? I was engaged to RK for 3 years.. The way you roam like the mistress of the house.. I used to be that way.. and suddenly in a span of weeks you come from nowhere and snatch it all from me.. I used to decide the working of this house and suddenly I was the guest.. And you think I should just hand you over! And you call me cheap? What did you do? You made me believe that you are working to bring me close to RK but in real you were working your way into him. You expect me to act stupid and just go away!" Dipali replied back angrily.

"You regarded this house as yours.. but it wasn't yours. Thats none of anybody's fault if you got into that delusion by yourself" RK said angrily.

"I was engaged to you RK.." Dipali said coming closer to him.

"Engaged.. Not married.." RK said sternly. "And did I ever even verbally gave you that authority..?"

Dipali looked at him hurt.

"I thought you loved RK?" Madhu said disappointed. "But you were here for the house? For the authority?" She said getting shocked.

Dipali turned to her angrily glaring at her.

"Get out now Dipali.. Enough of the drama for tonight.." RK said from behind.

"What?" She asked shocked.

"You cant be anyway thinking that I would let you stay beneath this roof after what you did tonight! And dont worry, I will get that man wherever he is and I will break his bones well.." he said angrily.

"I won't leave both of you!" Dipali said glaring at them. "You will have to pay for playing with me.." Dipali said as she flared in anger and turned around. She stopped for a second as she passed by Madhu and glared at her with spiteful eyes while Madhu stared back at her confidently. She then walked away.

Madhu looked at RK worriedly as Dipali had now went away. "What would she do?" Madhu asked.

"She can't do anything Madhu.. forget her.." RK brushed it off. "Now dont worry yourself for that.."..

Madhu walked to him as she rested her head on her chest.

"Did I really snatch you away from her Rishu?" she asked disappointed by Dipali's accusations.

"I was always yours Madhu.. You never needed to snatch me from anyone" RK said resting his head back at hers as he patted her head cherishing her smell so close to himself. Madhu smiled contended hearing that.
