Interested in chatting with Shilpa & Shny

Actors Shiney Ahuja and Shilpa Shetty are in a new tangle. The 'Metro' pair was recently shocked to learn that they are part of the Internet chat forum Facebook . Dale Bhagwagar, who represents both the actors as their spokesperson and publicist, is as flummoxed. "Someone has registered their names and uploaded their pictures on Facebook. While Shiney has been unaware about the forum, Shilpa has never been interested in it, though her sister Shamita does have an account on it," he says.

Does that mean the actors are being impersonated? "Yes, and the impersonators are regularly chatting, carrying on discussions under their id's and making new friends on Facebook," states Bhagwagar. "They are not only cheating on unsuspecting surfers but might also be spreading incorrect information. It's dangerous as most surfers might think they are chatting with the real Shiney Ahuja or Shilpa Shetty. What the impersonators say can even harm the image and reputation of the actors," adds the concerned
publicist.

So while the World Wide Web has its umpteen boons, the banes just don't stop growing either.
