ENTRY 4
Today morning while I was taming my wild horse, which is a part of mine regular practice, a soldier came in the practice area and informed me of my mother's visit. I nodded telling him that I will be going to meet her. As soon as I went to where she was residing, she got up. When I greeted her she smiled seeing me and then put her hand over my head affectionately. Though I didn't like her gesture but I couldn't have been hostile to the Mallika-e-Hind, could I?? No, so I had to bear with all her affections. I showed her the respect that she deserved. I bowed down my head while talking to her, avoiding as much eye contact as possible.
Then I asked her the reason of her visit. She replied that she had gone to Ajmer Shareef, to seek blessings and on her return journey, she thought of seeing me once. While talking, she fastened a tabeez on my right arm, probably the one she brought from Ajmer.

I told her that she could have written letters from Agra, it would have been better than coming here in the was camp,the way badi ammi sends me letters.Talking of badi ammi I remember how much I miss her. For me she's my mother though she didn't bring me in this world. But my mother said that political letters can be sent like that but not feelings, so she came here personally to convey her feelings. She said that personal emotions should never be mixed with political decisions.
How can she say these things when she herself had put the throne, her duties towards the nation upper than her duties towards her son? She didn't think for a moment before leaving me. I asked her these questions. She tried to answer but I didn't give her the opportunity as I knew that she was going to utter the same things that she has already said before.
I knew she was hurt, as if to hurt her more, I told her to tell badi ammi that I miss her and to tell my wives that I think about them daily.

My plan got successful, as I saw hurt flashed in her eyes. She asked me whether I missed her. I replied in positive saying that I missed her whenever I saw an orphan. As that made me feel as if even that
orphan's mother must have had some
inevitable difficulty, due to which she
must have had to leave the infant,just
like her.
While trying to hurt her, I had hurt myself.. not able to withstand that pain, I left her. I felt the tabbez knot loosen but didn't try to tighten it and at the end it fell while I was distancing myself from my mother. But I didn't stop to pick it up.
Later on after this bitter incident, I heard that my mother had left the was camp.
Later, in the afternoon, Khan Baba said that my name will be there in the list of all great emperors. I laughed out loud and asked him, whether he came to know of that just then. He replied that he knew of it from the time I sat on the throne.
