CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR

Simmi was holding her breath trying not to think of the worst because despite it all Ishita couldn't do something like that.

When they walked to the kitchen door, Shagun turned around and looked at Simmi almost as if to ask are you sure to which Simmi said

'Open the damn door...''

When the door flung open, Parmeet was holding Ishita with his left hand in her right and his right hand around her waist. The way they were positioned was so compromising that anyone would the exact thing Simmi was thinking.

'YOU BITCH...'' Simmi screamed

Raman had seen Shagun and Simmi and he figured something was going to go south so he followed them. So when Shagun opened the door, Raman saw exactly what Simmi saw but their reactions were a bit different and their interpretation of it was also entirely different.

All Simmi saw was Ishita in her fianc's arms and him in hers while Raman saw a very petrified Ishita, what he couldn't really understand was it because she was embarrassed that she had been caught or was it because of something else.

'Simmi calm down there are guests in the house. We will handle this later.'' Said Raman

He was as pissed as Simmi was there was no doubting that and he sure hoped Ishita had a valid explanation for whatever the hell was going on.

'No I want to know what the hell you two are doing.'' Said Simmi

'Simmi calm down okay, you are misunderstanding it is not what it looks like'' Said Ishita

'What do you mean not what it looked like. You are here alone with my-would be husband in that position and you still insist what I am looking at is in my head.'' Said Simmi

'Will you just calm down. The guests are leaving so please, do not create a scene especially today I will not allow it.'' Said Raman who was getting angry and Simmi could see it. She looked at Ishita and Parmeet and walked out crying

Raman looked at Ishita and then at Parmeet and walked out without uttering a word.

He was so levied at this and he was feeling like a complete idiot for not having trusted his gut about Parmeet but also hated the way he was thinking about Ishita because she probably was not that kind of woman but what could he do, his head was refusing to reason with his heart.

He walked out and thanked the guests for coming and helped his brother see everyone out who had come for the birthday party. Ishita shortly joined him but he never even looked at her and just continued what he was doing and didn't utter a word.

All the guests had left and Romi sensing a hurricane was about to blow into that room told the kids to go upstairs after they said their goodnights. Aditya and Ruhi kissed all their parents goodnight and Aditya thanking them for the somewhat successful birthday party.

Once they made it up stairs Shagun began her drama as usual and started to add fuel to the fire

'I do not understand how the hell you can allow such a thing when you know this was a kids party, more so my son's party.'' Said Shagun

'What are you talking about.'' Asked Santosh

'Ishita is having an affair with Parmeet.'' Simmi said

'Am sorry what? Hell no! I am most definitely not having an affair with him.'' Said a shocked Ishita

'Simmi calm down, there was some water or something on the floor so she slipped and fell and I cuaght her, that is when you walked in and that is what you saw. I am not having an affair with anyone.'' Said Parmeet

Parmeet had managed to power oil on the floor and knew it would be slippery enough such that when Ishita walked in, exactly what he anticipated would happen happened and it would be easier to put the blame on Ishita.

'Oh really convenient isn't it.'' Said Shagun

'What the hell are you even doing here?'' said Ishita to Shagun

' Stop evading and answer...'' Said Shagun

'Raman I swear I am not having an affair with anyone. I honestly just slipped and he grabbed me to save me from falling that is all. I swear I would never do anything like this.'' Said Ishita but Raman just stayed there looking at her and didn't say a word.

'Is that so, so how do you explain you and him at PC Jewelers two days ago'' said Shagun

'He needed my help and I thought why not. He wanted to surprise Simmi. And wait how do you know this'' Said a suspicious Ishita

'Needed you help with what exactly, buying you jewelry. Please at least do not insult our intelligence.'' Said Shagun

'What the hell... Seriously Shagun not today'' Said Ishita ignoring Shagun

'Okay fine, Ishita are you having an affair. He seemed to know you earlier and you denied but as it seems you two have a history.'' Said Santosh clearly taking sides and all this while Raman was just standing there and not saying a word

'I knew it. I even tried telling Raman but he wouldn't listen because his wife is perfect and can have no fault. Well now do you believe me.'' Said Simmi in tears

'So Ishita can you explain this...'' Said Santosh

'There is nothing to explain because nothing happened...'' Said Ishita

'You liar, your such a cheap woman, how can you even do that when you're married more so to my brother...'' Said Simmi who was refusing to see reason

'Simmi plea...'' Ishita tried to talk but got interrupted by Santosh

'I should have known this is the kind of woman that you are. Is this how you were raised? I do not even blame you I mean seriously what to expect from someone who grew up...'' Said Santosh but held her tongue when she saw the look her husband gave her

'Finish your statement, someone who grew up in an orphanage or without parents which is it. Complete you statement I am waiting.'' Said Ishita as tears started swelling up in her eyes

'Ishita beta she didn't mean it like that ' Mr. Bhalla tried to say

'Actually it is exactly what she wanted to say. I will tell her this I will not tolerate anyone saying a world against my parents. You can insult me all you want but DO NOT SAY A WORD ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO RAISED ME BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT BEGIN TO FATHOM WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO GET ME HERE.'' Said Ishita something Santosh was not expecting

'Stop changing the topic, you have been caught just admit it you pathetic attention seeking liar.'' Said Simmi

Shagun turned and looked at Shlok and both smiled because finally their plans were coming into effect.

'What is the point. You already believe that I am guilty so what is the point?'' Said Ishita as she looked at Raman and walked out.

In her mind his silence meant that he believed them and that more than anything else broke my heart.

'There is no point trying to explain anything to you. Stop insulting her as she has done nothing wrong.'' Said Parmeet

'Please she is just a cheap woman and now you are defending her.'' Said Simmi as she cried

'Are you going to stand there and listen to her talk about your wife like that?'' Said Parmeet as he turned to look at Raman but still he said nothing

'Shut up, you ought to be embarrassed about yourself after this nonsense.'' Said Santosh

'Arrrggghhh Oh My God you people. I feel so sorry for Ishita right now. You People I swear...'' said Parmeet throwing his hands in the air as if to say I give up

'I can't believe you would hurt me like that...'' Said Simmi breaking down in tears

'Look I asked her to come and help me pick out something because I needed a girl's opinion about something and who other than the one you stay with can give a better opinion. I asked her to be there because I wanted to surprise you and do something nice for you.'' Said Parmeet

He walked and grabbed his coat that was resting on the chair and removed this small velvet blue box and walked back to where Simmi was standing

'When I proposed I didn't really give you a ring so I figured it was high time I did something about it. I was organizing this beautiful date and I was going to give this to you.'' He said opening the box and in it was this beautiful blue heart shaped Platinum Engagement Ring with two pear cut diamonds on each side.

'I have absolutely given you no reason to doubt me but you still think I cheat or I am doing something to betray you. If you do not trust me, how the hell are we supposed to start a new life together'' Said Parmeet guilt tricking Simmi and it worked because this, this is where his skill and art came to work and Oh My he was really good at it

She looked at the ring he was holding and then back at him and started to feel like a complete idiot. He was trying to propose to her while she just went and spoilt the plans for herself and instead created a scene, but Ishita was still to blame. Why the hell couldn't she just mind her business? Right now wasn't the time though to start laying blame, she had to do damage control and so she did

'I am so sorry Parmeet it is just that Shagun said that ... and then when I saw you and her with everything else I just...'' Simmi tried to speak

'You assumed the worst. Look I think you and I need some space'' said Parmeet closing the ring box and putting it in his pocket

'What are you saying?'' said a shocked Simmi and a more shocked Shagun because this was not the way the plan was supposed to unfold.

'I am saying I need space and I think you do too, you need to figure out what exactly it is you want.'' Said Parmeet as he turned to walk away

'Parmeet please, Parmeet I am sorry please do not leave me. Parmeet...'' Said Simmi as she followed Parmeet outside crying

Shagun had to think fast and she knew that something was definitely off with Parmeet today but no matter what she was going to make sure that not even him spoilt her plans. She had to think fast

'Are you people seriously believing this bullshit story.'' Said Shagun but no one was paying any attention to her so she thought I have to create a scene

'Simmi told me about all this and I will get you proof that she really is Aabha, the girl whose name he has tattooed and also proof that they have a history. The story they are giving for what just happened is way too convenient'' Said Shagun

Santosh looked at her daughter who was standing by the door and knew that no matter how much they tried to convince her that Parmeet was not the right choice, she would never agree so she figured evidence was going to be the only thing to bring all this bullshit to a halt.

'You have 48 hours to prove it.'' Said Santosh

'Okay this is ridiculous, you are putting your faith in Shagun, seriously Santosh.'' Said a very Shocked Mr. Bhalla

'I am doing this for my daughter.'' Said Santosh as she tried to convince herself

'Santosh what the hell is the matter with you. What do you have against that girl? This is going to back fire on you and when it does you are going to lose.'' Said Mr. Bhalla before he turned to Raman and said

'And you, given the number of times she had stood by you, you should have done the same for her today, this is not right and I for one believe nothing happened here because she is not that kind of girl'' Then he turned and walked out

Raman was listening to everyone and he really wanted to say something but for some reason nothing came out. He just kept on playing the odds in his head by the fact that she might be Aabha. Her reaction when he asked if it was her might have been because she was guilty and not because of some bad story of the past. And if she was Aabha then who the hell was Parmeet and why would she hide that?

His heart just wouldn't take the fact that she would do something like have an affair, and there was a justifiable reason for all that happened in that kitchen but there also you would argue that she was lying because of the numerous unexplained events.

Like the fact that Parmeet seemed to be oddly fond of her more than usual, or the fact that even after she found out that he was trying to get to know her more than usual she just let it happen.

Shagun played with his emotions and played him for a fool and he promised himself he would never again allow a woman to do that to him ever again. But then this was Ishita and his father was right, he had to take a leap of faith and trust her, except this was easier said than done.

He was still struggling with his emotions until he saw Shlok. He was looking at Shagun with an expression on his face as if they knew more than they were leading on. He then looked at Shagun and he could see she was smirking at Shlok giving him a nod as if to say job done and that got his blood boiling because he knew in that moment that Shagun most definitely had something to do with what happened.

Wasn't it oddly convenient that she is the one who lead Simmi to the kitchen. Knowing Shagun she was creating trouble for his family because she couldn't bear to see anyone else happy if she wasn't

'GET OUT.'' He suddenly said

Everyone turned and looked at him shocked at what he had actually said. He then turned to where Shagun was standing and said

'GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE.'' With a stern look on his face

'I do not know why you are behaving like this with me. If you want to hide your wife's flaws it is okay but I am just saying do not be blinded by ...'' Shagun tried to say

'SHAGUN I AM NOT REPEATING MYSELF,IF YOU DO GET OUT RIGHT NOW SO HELP ME GOD'' He roared

Shlok knew that things were about to go south, fast but it didn't matter because there work their was done and he finally after keeping quite the whole evening said

'Come on Shagun, you can't help people who do not want help.'' He said grabbing his wife's hand and they turned to leave.

'I have known you Shagun longer than anyone else in this room, if I find out you had anything to do with this I swear...'' he said holding his hand out in a fist before he left and walked out to go to upstairs.

Santosh lead Shagun to the door asking her to leave as it was the best thing now. She then picked her daughter who was sill crying by the door and helped her to her room.

Parmeet drove straight to where his meeting with his boss was because the day for the actual event was pushed nearer. They had a well-played out plan, infiltrate the Bhalla house, make sure Ishita is hated, she eventually gets ousted out of that house and only then can they do what they were meant to do.

'Sorry am late, there was a lot of drama at the Bhallas but finally got out of it.'' He said

'And your engagement...'' asked the boss

'Called it off like you asked. But what is the hurry all of a sudden.'' Said Parmeet

'My mother's health has gotten worse and she can't wait anymore. We need to act fast.'' He said as he turned to look at Parmeet before he added

'Aabha needs to tell me where the hell she hide Mayra. I could have grabbed her today but that idiot Shagun interrupted my plans'' He added

'So what do we do next.'' Said Parmeet

'Oh now we let them let that sink in, that Shagun woman given she is an idiot but still she will do the rest for us.'' Said the Boss

'Then when do we finally attack, I seriously cannot tolerate that Simmi any longer, she is so needy.'' Said Parmeet

Oh our plan, we strike tomorrow and by the end of this weekend you declare your undying love to the world for Mrs. Ishita Kumar Bhalla only and only then shall we execute the last part, no one will bother to look for her after that and I get what I want.'' Said the boss

'Okay then let me call the reporter and set it up.'' Said Parmeet grabbing his phone
