From the pages of Khushi's Zombie Survival Guide - Entry 45:

I reflect a lot on my primary education these days. We aren't taught how to identify which plant produces edible components. Or how to listen to nature to predict immediate weather. Or how to cook food to make it last long without any resources.

We aren't taught how to navigate in a world where everyone is in a transient state. We all have the same questions now - What should I live for? Why should I live?

The school taught us how to live. But living was a luxury now. We had to survive.

And no one taught us that.

They were two people who could make a stunning water color painting with the tragedies of their past and the shadows they dwell in.

The twirl of her veil adds the crimson to the water color and the smile he smiles to himself when he thinks no one is looking brings out warm ocher.

Green is when he presses his hand into the warm soil, channeling his belief and cajoling the seedling to grow.

Black is when...

01. Prolegomena to Childhood

The inevitable tragedy of human condition occurs when transition is made from childhood to adolescence. He was transformed into an adult when he overheard days later he should have probably said "no" when his mother asked him to push her into the well. He was only eight years old then.

She was only twelve when she was told by the people she called parents all her life that they weren't her biological parents when an elderly aunt called her "stray". She had stayed up late night and looked up the word "adopted" and "biological parents" in her weathered pocket dictionary.
