Episode 5: Disha on Probation
It was a regular day at Dhingra High School. During free time hour, Riddhi was walking down the hall with Luv following her, carrying a stack of ten large books. "You know...what you're making me do is called child labor!" Luv exclaimed.
"And since when have you become so smart?!"
"Shut up!"
"You shut up! Since you decided it was funny to throw water balloons at the football team, you're going to carry all the new booksfor the library! Every single one!"
"This is torture!"
"That's what you get for acting like a moron."
"Hey, Ridz!" a voice called out to Riddhi. Riddhi and Luv stopped to see Nikkita, Aditya, and Disha heading their way. "Hey, guys." Riddhi greeted.
"There's a fight in the school lobby." Aditya told Riddhi.
"What?!" Riddhi gasped.
"A FIGHT?! I gotta see!" Luv exclaimed, dropping the books on the floor and dashing down the hall.
"Hey! Come back here!" Riddhi shouted at Luv as she went after him down the hall with Nikkita and Disha following.
Nikkita then stopped for a moment, looking at Aditya who remained still in the hall. "Aren't you coming?!" Nikkita asked Aditya.
"Someone has to pick up the books."
"Nerd!"
In the lobby, several students surrounded what appeared to be a school fight. Disha barged through the crowd, making way for Luv, Riddhi, and Nikkita to come through. She stood and watched, eating from a bag of chips. "Yeah! Fight! Fight!" Luv started cheering as the two students continued to hit each other.
"You idiot! How can you cheer for this?!" Riddhi shouted at Luv.
"You're right, Arrowhead! I need snacks!" Luv exclaimed. Luv turned to Disha, who was still eating from her bag of chips. "Give me those!"
"What?!" Disha said, confused.
Luv grabbed the bag of chips from Disha and started eating. Disha's face turned red with fury. "NO ONE TAKES MY CHIPS AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!" Disha shouted as she then tackled Luv to the ground, getting right in the middle of the fight that was already going on. Riddhi and Nikkita watched Disha attack Luv, trying to get her bag of chips back. "You psycho! Get off of me!" Luv screamed.
"This would have been the best time to give Dish some Swedish Fish!" Nikkita exclaimed.
"Well someone has to stop the fight!" Riddhi said.
At that moment, the sound of a blowhorn blew into the lobby. It was none other than Dean Rahul Kapur who was coming into the lobby, saying, "All right! Get out! Get back to class! Come back when the fight's on DVD!"
As the students started to go away, the two students that were fighting, Luv, and Disha, all four stood up as the dean came to them. "Disha! You got involved in a fight?!" the dean exclaimed.
"Hey! She assualted me!" Luv exclaimed.
"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU STOLE MY CHIPS!" Disha yelled.
"Nikki, handle these two," the dean told Nikkita, pointing to the other two boys. "Riddhi, you and I will deal with Luv and Disha."
In the Jungle Jail, the dean and Riddhi were seated at the front desk with Luv and Disha sitting before them. "Why am I here again?!" Disha asked as she started eating a cheeseburger.
"Because you got into a fight, Disha!" the dean replied. "And put away the burger!"
"But I'm hungry." Disha said.
"You're always hungry, Disha! Put the food away!" Riddhi ordered.
Disha wrapped the cheeseburger in a wrapper and stuffed it in her black leather jacket that had long fringes at the end. "Now...I understand Luv getting into trouble," the dean said. "Its your style."
"Thanks!" Luv exclaimed.
"But you, Disha! You yourself are a probation officer!" the dean told Disha. "You remember when we first classified you as a bear! But we stepped you up a notch on the Jungle Pyramid simply because you do decently well in school and one of the best trumbone players in the school!"
"You play trumbone?!" Riddhi asked Disha.
"Yeah! I even won the Trumbone Olympics last year for this school!" Disha added.
"There's such a thing?!" Riddhi asked, puzzled.
"You still have to get used to this school, Riddhi," the dean told Riddhi. "So I've come to a decision. Obviously Luv still stays on probation because...well...he's Luv."
"Hey!" Luv exclaimed.
"But Disha...I didn't want to do this. But it looks like I have to," the dean said. "Since you tackled Luv and got in the middle of a school fight, you're on probation for a whole week."
"WHAT?!" Disha cried.
"Is that neccessary?" Riddhi asked.
"Yes it is! And you will be in charge of probation for Disha until then!" the dean told Riddhi.
"WHAT?!" Riddhi said, shocked. "You mean...look after Monkey Boy and Food Girl?!"
"WHO YOU CALLING FOOD GIRL?!" Disha shouted.
"Oh come on! You know its true!" Luv retorted.
"Say it again and I'll rip your head off!" Disha yelled.
"So then...what's her task for the week?" Riddhi asked.
"I know!" the dean beamed. "For the whole week, Disha is not allowed to eat during classes anymore or during Jungle Jail time!"
"NOOO!" Disha screamed.
"She's only allowed to eat during lunch time like everyone else. And she must go with only healthy and nutritious foods." the dean added.
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?!" Riddhi asked the dean.
"Of course! And to start things off, I'm gonna need you to hand over the cheeseburger, Disha." the dean told Disha, lending out his hand.
"NO! I REFUSE!" Disha shouted.
"Luv." the dean called on Luv.
Luv then got hold of Disha and managed to get the cheeseburger out from her jacket, handing it to the dean. "NOOO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME!" Disha screamed. The dean then held the cheeseburger over the trash bin while Disha looked in horror. He dropped it into the trash and Disha dropped to the floor, sulking. "WHY?!" Disha screamed to the top of her lungs. Riddhi put her hand to her head. "This is gonna be a nightmare."
The next day, in the Jungle Jail, Disha was placed behind bars where she was far away from all the junk food possible. She whimpered as she saw Aditya taking away her stash of snacks and locking them tightly in the closet. "Did you lock everything?" Nikkita asked Aditya.
"Yup. Now Disha can't get any of her junk food from here." Aditya said.
"Come on, Adi! What happened to 'Dish! Fish!' " Disha cried.
"Not this week, Dish." Aditya nodded his head.
"I'm sorry, Disha," Riddhi told Disha. "This hurts us more than it hurts you."
"LIES! That's what they all say!" Disha cried.
"Oh shut up, Dish!" Nikkita shouted. "Just sit there for twenty more minutes and you can have lunch!"
"Remember, only healthy food." Riddhi whispered to Nikkita.
Just then, two boys entered inside the Jungle Jail with their hands handcuffed. And they happened to be the same boys who were fighting the other day. Nikkita stepped up to both of them. "Hello...Tom...Jerry." Nikkita called the boys by their names as she glared down upon them.
"Is this neccessary?" Tom asked.
"Duh!" Nikkita exclaimed. "You guys think you're so macho that you can go out and fight like we're watching Tom and Jerry!"
"Is it just a coincidence that their names are Tom and Jerry?" Riddhi asked Aditya.
"There are many weird things about this school that you still don't know." Aditya replied.
"Since you guys love to be all tough, come with me and lets have a workout session!" Nikkita exclaimed as she dragged the two boys to the fitness area, making them stand on the place mats.
Once Nikkita removed their handcuffs, she stood before them and said, "Now...I want you both to do one hundred jumping jacks. If you stop in between, you start over!"
"What?!" Tom exclaimed.
"This is stupid!" Jerry added.
"And you're stupider! You're gonna do it!" Nikkita talked back. "Otherwise...I have a lioness in the cellar ready for a snack!"
Tom and Jerry turned to the cellar, looking at Disha who was staring into space with her mouth watering. The two gulped. "Fine." Tom and Jerry shrugged their shoulders.
"All right! Start!" Nikkita ordered. Tom and Jerry then commenced into doing jumping jacks while Riddhi and Aditya watched in amusement. "Faster!" Nikkita ordered. "Even faster! I want to see you sweating!"
"So I'm assuming Tom and Jerry are classified as bears?" Riddhi asked Aditya.
"Correct." Aditya replied.
"How ironic," Riddhi rolled her eyes. "Disha seems to be locked tight. I better go check on Luv. I sent him to organize the books in the library."
"Have fun with that." Aditya smirked.
And so, Riddhi left the Jungle Jail and headed upstairs down the hallway. She made her way into the library, looking for Luv. She then found Luv alone in the corner of the library, placing books on the shelves. What appalled Riddhi was the mess of books that were scattered on the floor. "You call this clean?!" Riddhi asked Luv as she started walking towards him. As she walked, Riddhi tripped over a book that laid on the floor. She fell right into Luv, who caught her with his arms and in the moment, placed her hands on his shoulders. The two looked into each others eyes as they were lost in the moment, still in the same position. Riddhi then snapped back to reality and took her hands off Luv's shoulders while Luv let go of Riddhi. The two composed themselves while their faces remained a cheeky pink color. Luv then went over to the desk nearby and took what appeared to be his yellow notebook and placed it in his backpack with Riddhi watching him. "I'll get the job done! So you can go." Luv told Riddhi.
As Luv continued to organize the books onto the shelves, Riddhi left the library, calm and solemn.
During lunch, Riddhi, Nikkita, and Aditya were all seated at their usual table. Disha then happily made her way to the table. "Finally! Its lunchtime! What'd you guys bring me?!" Disha asked in an eager tone. "Chicken?! Burgers?! Steak?! Oh I love steak! Well?!"
Riddhi, Aditya, and Nikkita all looked at each other. And then they handed Disha her tray for lunch which Disha looked at in utter shock. On Disha's tray was a plain salad with a low fat milk carton on the side. Disha then began to chuckle. "This is a joke, right?!" Disha asked.
"Don't you remember?" Riddhi asked Disha.
"King Kong specifically said for you to only eat healthy food for the week." Nikkita reminded.
"And that's all your getting." Aditya added.
"But...but...look at this!" Disha exclaimed as she picked up the lettuce leaves from the salad. "There's no meat on this! How can I eat something like this?! And the milk! I never drink low fat milk! I want the chocolate milk! The same milk that comes from brown cows!"
"What?!" Nikkita laughed. "You actually think chocolate milk comes from brown cows?!"
"Duh!" Disha exclaimed. "That's why strawberry milk comes from pink cows! I saw one last night in my dream! It was calling to me!"
"Is she more stupid than I thought?" Nikkita asked Riddhi in a whispering tone.
"I think she's starting to lose it." Riddhi whispered back.
"Come on guys! Give me the real food! The meat please!" Disha pleaded.
"No can do, Dish. We're following orders," Aditya said. "And its for your own good."
Disha then whimpered. She slowly began to sulk in her chair until she finally fell onto the floor with a thud with her face to the floor while the others watched her. "WHY?! WHY ME?!" Disha cried.
"This is so sad." said Riddhi.
"Are you kidding?! This is gold!" Nikkita exclaimed. "I should be recording this!"
"Nikki." Aditya raised his eyebrows at Nikkita.
"How can you laugh at Disha's pain?!" Riddhi asked Nikkita.
"Well she's just gonna have to deal with this. She got herself in this mess in the first place." Nikkita said.
"Then we'll just have to get her out of it." Riddhi grinned as she looked directly at Luv, who was sitting with some friends at a table across the canteen.
"What do you mean?" Aditya asked Riddhi.
"I'll be right back." Riddhi said as she then got up from the table.
Riddhi went right up to Luv's table and sat right across from him. "Arrowhead?! Why are you here?!" Luv asked Riddhi.
"Hey, Luv! This is your girlfriend, right?!" one of the boys asked Luv at the table.
"WE ARE NOT DATING!" Luv and Riddhi shouted at the boy.
"Well then!" the boy exclaimed. "Didn't know it was a secret."
"What do you want?!" Luv asked Riddhi. "More books for me to throw around?!"
"No," Riddhi replied. "I need a favor from you and your little friends here."
"And why would I do a favor for you?!" Luv asked.
"Because I'm your probation officer and if you don't do as I ask, then instead of organizing books, I can get you to help the janitor after school," Riddhi smirked. "He needs help getting rid of the rats in the basement."
Luv's eyes beamed. He then let out a deep breath and said, "So what do you want us to do?"
"That's more like it." Riddhi smiled.
The next day, during free period, Riddhi, Luv, and Luv's friends snuck out from the Jungle Jail and headed down the hall near the lobby. They hid behind the doors to the lobby to check if the coast is clear. "All right. You guys know what to do," Riddhi told Luv's friends. "And you...you go in only after they are settled down. Go."
Luv's friends then made their way into the lobby, lingering around as if they had nothing better to do. Once they were settled in the lobby, Riddhi signaled Luv to casually walk in the lobby. Luv walked in, looking down at a magazine he held in his hands. Riddhi then turned to see Nikkita heading her way. "Is Disha coming?" Riddhi asked Nikkita.
"Yeah. Adi's bringing her in," Nikkita replied. "And I already made sure King Kong would come to the library."
"How'd you convince him to come to the lobby?" Riddhi asked.
"I didn't," Nikkita answered. "I prank called him that a year supply of bananas was waiting for him in the lobby!"
Riddhi rolled her eyes. As she and Nikkita stood by the doors, they turned to see Dean Rahul Kapur heading down the hall. Riddhi then signaled a thumbs up to Luv and his friends. And so, one of Luv's friends knocked him onto the floor. "Hey man!" Luv exclaimed.
"Give me your money!"
"What?!"
"I said give me your money!"
"What the heck?! This isn't a bank, you moron!"
"You call me a moron?!"
"Oh we'll show you whose the moron!"
Luv's friends then began to attack Luv, hitting and punching him in the face and his arms. "King Kong!" Nikkita called out to the dean. The dean then rushed to Riddhi and Nikkita.
"What's wrong, girls?" the dean asked.
"Look, King Kong! Those boys are hitting Luv!" Riddhi pointed out.
"What?! Those hooligans! I'll show them!" the dean exclaimed as he made his way into the lobby.
Just then, Riddhi and Nikkita turned to see Aditya coming with Disha. "Hey guys!" Aditya played along, greeting Riddhi and Nikkita. "What's new?"
"Luv's getting beaten up by some boys in the lobby!" Riddhi exclaimed.
"Really?!" Disha asked.
"Yes, Dish!" Nikkita replied.
Disha immediately went into the lobby while Riddhi, Nikkita, and Aditya followed her. Over there while the foursome had arrived, the dean was trying to intervene between Luv's friends. "All right! Break it up! Break it up!" the dean said, trying to hold down the boys as they continued to beat up Luv. "Don't make me assume my ultimate form!"
"I'd actually love to see that!" Luv said as he sat up, raising his hand. The two boys continued to beat up Luv while the dean couldn't control the situation. "Disha, do something!" Nikkita urged Disha.
Disha then went in and pushed both of the boys away from Luv onto the floor, surprising the dean. "All right! That's enough!" Disha told the boys. "You both are violating school rules! Now I'll put you both on probation!"
"But you're on probation yourself!" Luv exclaimed.
"Shut it, monkey face!" Disha told off Luv.
"Wow...Disha. You managed the situation better than usual!" the dean said, surprised.
"Oh yeah...I did!" Disha beamed.
"This is quite a good deed on her part considering she's been on probation." Nikkita said.
"Maybe you should reconsider her probation." Riddhi eyed the dean.
"You know what?! You're right!" the dean agreed. "Disha, you're no longer on probation. Just make sure take care of these two!"
"Wait!" Disha exclaimed. "You mean...I'm free!"
"Yes, Disha." Riddhi smiled.
"I'm free!" Disha cried out.
Disha then dashed off to the front door. "Where are you going?!" Nikkita asked Disha.
"To McDonalds!" Disha replied as she opened the door. "See ya!" And with that, Disha rushed out of the school. The dean then made his way out of the lobby towards the hall. "Where are you going, King Kong?" Aditya asked the dean.
"I just got a text message that my year supply of bananas is in my office!" the dean replied. "Guess they didn't bring it to the lobby then! See you all!"
"Wait...that was true?" Nikkita asked as the dean left.
"Who would've thought that?!" Riddhi exclaimed.
"Man! If we had him there longer, I could've seen his ultimate form!" Luv pouted.
"Trust me, you don't want to see it." Nikkita told Luv.
"Thank you boys for your time," Riddhi told Luv's friends. "And don't worry...I'll make sure you're let off the hook."
"No problem!" one of the boys replied. "Anything for Luv's girlfriend."
"FOR THE LAST TIME, WE'RE NOT DATING!" Luv and Riddhi shouted at Luv's friends.
The two boys left the lobby with smirks on their faces.
"Man! Those guys I tell you!" Luv shook his head.
"Girlfriend?!" Aditya said.
"Let's not bring that up again!" Riddhi rolled her eyes.
"Right." Nikkita chuckled.
"All right, Monkey Boy! Time to get back to organzing those books!" Riddhi told Luv.
"But I just took a beating to get Disha out of probation!" Luv complained.
"Disha may not be on probation anymore. But you still are," Riddhi smirked. "Hop to it!"
Luv sighed as he followed Riddhi down the hall while Aditya and Nikkita looked on with grins on their faces.
