CHAPTER : 9 :
The very famous MMS clip, showing Akash falling accidently from the cliff when he and Uday were fighting - was deemed ; INADMISSABLE IN COURT! The charges against Uday suddenly became serious! He was so sure that Jai's recording would exonerate him and nobody would need to know what Manyata did months later. Alas - it was not to be!
However, Uday was still adamant about Manyata "keeping her mouth shut" and Manyata promised not to breathe a word ... for the moment!
Uday's both trials were running parallel to each other; making court-room visits, almost daily. Sadly, both cases were looking badly for Uday!
Long lost characters from the past, had made a re-entry into the Royals' lives ... and not in a good way! Akash's parents, Chikki, Soni & Ammaji all testified for the Prosecution ... making Uday out to be The Devil Incarnate; and not even sparing Manyata - painting her to be a selfish, manipulative woman, who sold her love; in favour of the richer Prince.
I want to take the stand , Manyata told to Unnati. NO! , Uday answered before Unnati could. I'm not talking to u , I'm talking to Unnati! Well, I'm answering on Chotti's behalf.
That's all that Manveer have been doing recently - BICKERING! It was no surprise as both were under a lot of pressure. Uday was determined to keep Manyata OUT OF THE WITNESS BOX and she was adamant about TAKING THE STAND! Uday was fearful that Manyata would let slip about what happened in December 2012, rather than the 'Holi' -day fight which occurred in March 2012.
I'd also like YOU to give testimony Bhabhisa - it could help the case a lot , Unnati gave her approval and Uday walked out - ANNOYED! He was starting to get images in his mind, whereby he and Manyata were serving their sentences from adjoining cells!

2 months we're searching ... and still NOTHING! How can Mrs Kapoor just disappear into thin air? I want answers Officers! The judge has delayed Ayaan Kapoor's case for 3 weeks ... by the end of July - I want her in front of me , Inspector Dav'e gave his order and everyone dispersed, hoping to catch the elusive Mrs Anushka Kapoor, sooner rather than later!

As soon as Uday walked into the bedroom, Manyata walked out! He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her inside, shutting the door behind them. I don't want to fight with you Manyata ... I'm also tired of our fighting. Good! Then please listen to me - DON'T TAKE THE STAND! But ... I know what a righteous person u are, once you're sworn to tell the TRUTH, everything will come pouring out. Uday had a point! Manyata wanted to save Uday, but she didn't want to go to jail either, she needed another solution - FAST!

Baby, I'm so sorry ... I'm sorry that we're getting on with life without you! It's not fair that you're left out. It's not fair that you're here ... but NOT EXACTLY HERE FOR OUR DAUGHTER! , Jagat wept at Jai's bedside. She said "Mamma" - I still don't know how I feel about that. It sounded so sweet and she smiled after saying it ... it was a big moment for her! Unnati did a lot for us and I'm extremely grateful, but at that moment - I despised her for taking your place. She's not Jazzy's mother ... but then she's the only mother our daughter knows. He got up from her bedside and walked over to the window. Oh God - is Jai ever coming back to her family again? He turned to look at her and for the first time, he looked at her from a different perspective. There were tubes going into her nose, an oxygen-mask over her face ... feeding tubes going into her and excrement tubes coming out. Is Jai in pain because of these contraptions?
OF-COURSE she's in pain! , an inner voice answered him and Jagat believed it. How could she not be in pain ... she was lying there in a lot of discomfort ... Jagat wanted to pull out the tubes and let Jai go, but was interrupted when a nurse entered the ward.

Udita beta - u know that game we play with your NaanaSahib , Giriraj talked seriously to his grand-daughter and she listened intently ... I think it's enough now! Play sum more DaaSa. Me like dat game. No Baccha, I think we must stop now ... but don't worry I will still give you all the toffees u want. Udita was more than happy but had to ask once more, just to make sure ... DaaSa still gimme Sweeties? Yes Baby.
Udita & Giriraj were playing a secret game with Brijraj and nobody got even a hint of their mischief, which lasted almost 1 year.
Uday always called his father-in-law, UNCLE! Udita picked up on it and did the same. Giriraj heard it and took advantage of the situation. He made a deal with Udita, whereby he'd give her a sweet each time she called Brijraj ; 'UNCLE' , even though she now knew what name to call him.
Whilst Brijraj was going through the emotions of sadness, frustration and even annoyance ... Giriraj was having fun at his expense!

Ayaan's case resumes tomorrow Uday, did u hear anything from Unnati? , Manyata spoke as she drove her peas from 1 side of the plate to the other, making a loud, irritating sound with her fork in the process. Uday looked up at her for a moment, then looked back to his plate. His life had turned very monotonous recently and those vege's in his dinner plate were not helping matters much. Let's go out for supper Princess. Manyata was certain she heard wrong and made Uday repeat himself.
Are u mad Uday? Tomorrow is ... Great! I knew you'd say 'YES' , he got up from his chair and made Manyata do the same, while she started recalling WHEN DID SHE AGREE FOR THE DINNER-DATE.

Manveer was not even quarter way through their supper when they were rudely interrupted. Another person in the restaurant, happened to be a reporter and when he saw the VIP's in the next table ... he just HAD to come over to ask a few questions.
By the time the 3rd question came, Uday's fist was a inch from the guy's nose ... luckily Manyata calmed her husband down or a 3rd court-case would've been on the horizon.
Whilst Uday cursed himself for leaving his home and coming to this stupid restaurant ... Manyata took it as a sign from God! If she remained at home, she wouldn't have met this reporter ... neither would she have known his name - a name which gave her an idea about how to help Uday .
As soon as Manyata reached home, she phoned Rajat ... I need u to go to Pune immediately! She filled him on exactly what ... or rather WHOM she wanted. Rajat jotted the details and drove to Pune as soon as the call ended.

Judge - I request ... Prosecutor Shaw couldn't complete her sentence as Unnati cut in : U request another extension , am I right Miss Shaw? Was the last 3 weeks not enough for u? Or is it that your star-witness is STILL MISSING? Vanita Shaw lowered her head - she had no answer for Unnati. As u can see Your Honour, the Prosecution has no case against my client. So far - all they've done is waste the court's time! I move that the case against Yuvraaj UdayVeer Singh, be dismissed , Unnati told her piece and took her seat. The judge wrote something down ... as he cleared his throat to make the final announcement, the Prosecutor pleaded ... another 3 more weeks, Your Honour PLEASE!
Sadly for the Singh Family - the judge agreed. Sorry Dada. You did your best Chotti and I appreciate that, Uday kissed Unnati's fore-head. Uff - you 2 sound like we already lost the case, cheer up ... Manyata was suddenly in a chirpy mood and Uday was dying to know her secret.

DaadiSahib - this can't go on! I don't think we should keep Jai on life-support any more, Jagat broke down in DS's study. Slowly she got up from her chair and walked to him, this is what she was waiting for ... JAGAT WAS LETTING GO! I'm sorry DaadiSahib ... I misunderstood you, I misunderstood Komal Aunty and Uncle Brijraj, it must've been difficult to see your child in that position and I JUST PROLONGED THE AGONY! I stopped you'll from switching off the machines - I stood in your way ... I was selfish! Only MY pain mattered; I ignored what you'll were undergoing and I even ignored what Jai was undergoing. I saw her yesterday ... when I felt her, she was ice-cold and she was so pale. I got the feeling that she was in tremendous pain. When I got married to her - I promised her that she will never experience pain again ... but I went back on my word. DS listened silently, keeping a consoling hand on his shoulder, allowing him to say all that he suppressed in his heart for the last 11 months. I'm ready to let her go ... whenever u decide to do it - I won't stand in your way. I just have 1 request - don't take Jai away in Jazzy's first birthday. I don't want my daughter's birthday co-inciding with my wife's death-anniversary. He looked at DS and she nodded ... instead of the 27th of August; the plug will now be pulled on the 28th!
DS gave Jagat time to compose himself, but before he could leave - she cautiously approached a very touchy subject. Jagat Beta, after Jai's gone - we'll mourn for her but your mourning will understandably be longer; have to given any thought as to what happens after that? Matlab? Punar Vivah! Jagat was stunned ... Jai wasn't even gone yet and talks of him remarrying were underway.
He was horrified & DS could see the anger building in him - Beta, I'm not talking about you doing it the NEXT DAY ... I just want u to think about it. Jai has been absent for a long time now, Jazzy has found another mother in Unnati - but what about YOU? You are still young, you got a life-time ahead of you ... you'll need a companion in your life.
Jo aap theek samjhe DaadiSahib, Jagat said and left. He couldn't bear to hear what DS was saying - so he let her hear what she wanted to hear and got out of the house at once.

Manyata was visibly scared; Uday had a dangerous look in his eyes ... he meant business! She had a secret and he was determined to get it out of her ... 1 way or the other! Ud - Uday ... I'm pregnant , she said as she took another step backwards. Uday tucked his hands in his pockets, tilted his head and smirked at her : I know Princess. If YOU remember carefully - I had a major part in your pregnancy! Manyata gulped down hard ... Uday was closing the space between them and she was running out of room, bam; she hit the wall ... Uday was now hovering over her. Her eyes followed his hand, which went to her face - delicately moving a lock of hair to behind her ear ... Tell me your secret Princess , he whispered huskily. Uday's nearness , not to mention his hot breath - was making her weak ... her thinking power was shutting down and her mouth opened to reveal what she was hiding ... but then; Paapa - wat u doing?
Sorry Peeps ... I know everyone must be cursing me for not revealing Manyata's secret - but what to do ... it's my secret weapon to make sure you'll return for Chapter 10 😈 . (Hopefully - ch10 will be updated a lot sooner than ch9 was!)
