Aaliya sat in her room reminiscing the past few months of her life. The emotional roller coaster she had been and the number of people she took along with. She had loved Purab, hadn't she? Was that wrong? "No, but trying to make him yours forcefully was." A very small voice, a voice she had recently started paying attention to said. She had realized in the past few days that the voice had always been right, when it told her to let Purab go or when it told her not to make bhai marry Pragya for revenge, but she always ignored it but now that she was all by herself she had no choice but to listen to it. If only she did, maybe she could've prevented all of the devastation she caused in the lives of the people she loved so much.

An hour later she found herself sitting beside Daadi's in her bed. She just sat there looking at her Daadi. She had decided what she needed to do and she is going to need all the help she can get. Daadi woke up and saw Aliya sitting next to her and almost immediately Aliya placed her fingers over her mouth, "Please Daadi just listen to me once. I know what I've done isn't forgivable and I don't even expect any of you to forgive me but I want to correct it Daadi." Daadi looked at Aliya almost not believing her and said, "There is nothing you can do that can fix this Aliya. Even if you want to correct things, everything is already way too broken to be fixed anyway. And anyway how can I trust you anymore. After everything that you have done I cannot even think that you still understand the amount of damage you have caused this time Aliya." "I know there is nothing I can say or do that will make you trust me again but Daadi, I promise you I realize what I did was wrong, to say the least and that making up for it will take a lifetime but I will try till the day I breathe to fix this Daadi and I know with your help I can." She saw that Daadi was still looking sceptical and almost cried. There was a time her Daadi would take her word even if she had nothing to prove her word but her mistakes took away that trust. But she was determined to get that back. "I swear on Maa and Papa Daadi, I will fix this." With this she got up. Daadi looked on as she went out. She knew better than anyone that Aliya or Abhi would never lie after taking their parents name, let alone swear on them. She also knew that if Aliya set her heart on something she will do it. She silently prayed for her children. Maybe things could work out like she said.

For the next few days she saw a drastic change in her grandchildren. To say that Abhi was sad was an understatement. He was devastated. He would come and check on her every two three hours but that was it. He wouldn't even sit or talk to her. Just come in, talk to the home nurse and go away. She would not look at him too. Initially it was because of how angry and disappointed she was with him but these days it was because of the way he looked. It seemed like he had aged a decade in these days. He had huge circles around his eyes, she could see how loose his clothes looked evident of all the weight he had lost during these days, his eyes seemed dead. The mischievous glint in his eyes that she loved so much was replaced by a hollowness so deep that she was scared to even look into his eyes and if their eyes momentarily collide there would a ocean of regret in them. Above all this there was another thing she saw, it was love, love for Pragya. She had seen him stealing glances at a picture of Pragya and her. He would look at her face, sometimes a ghost of a smile would appear on his face and then he would just look away as if he cannot even bear to look at her.

And then there was Aliya. She had started to be the person who they always wanted her to be. She took care of her and her entire family. Abhi had withdrew into a shell and so Aliya had taken full responsibility of the house. Some days she could see how tired and worn-out she looked and thus she made a decision, to give her children a second chance.

The next day when Abhi came into the room, Daadi had already called Aliya in. Abhi looked at her and winced before he turned around to run out of the room but Daadi stopped him. "I want you both to sit down. There is something I want to talk about." Abhi was about to interrupt but Daadi shush him down. She looked towards Aliya and said, "You said that day that you wanted to fix things, how do you propose you do that?" Abhi and Aliya looked up shocked. Abhi got up and said, "Fix what?" Aliya looked towards Daadi as if asking for permission, Daadi smiled at her and nodded. Aliya stood up and said, "Your life bhai. I am so, so sorry for what I did bhai. I know it will be hard for you to believe me but bhai you have to give me a chance. I want to help." "Doing what, Aliya?" Aliya closed her eyes and then opened them, "I want to bring your wife home bhai. I want to bring Pragya bhabhi back."

So here is my big turning point. Aliya is going to try and fix the damage she has caused.
