Chapter 16

Delhi's winter was at its extreme that night. The cold freezing breeze was playing with Taani's hair who was already pissed off with Rey and was sitting in the other corner of the gate.

Rey sat on a rock opposite her, folding his arms across his chest as he moved back and forth trying to deal with the cold. He glanced at her eventually but then immediately looked away whenever she would glance back at him.

Finally Taani started murmuring, "lucky are those ladkiya, jinka boyfriend aise situation mein unko support kare!! Na ki khud grumpy hoke ek corner mein baithe!"

Rey immediately frowned and looked at her, "Haan haan!! Muje kya malum aise situation mein kya karte hai!! Main perfect thodi na hu?? Ek kaam karo muje uss perfect Shivam ka number do! Usse toh definitely pata hoga kya karna chaiye aise time pe!"

Taani tugged her hair behind, "You're insane Rey!! Tum pagal ho chuke ho!"

Rey smirked, "Baap ne bahar thand mein bita diya aur beti muje pagal keh rahi hai!"

Taani opened her mouth out of surprise, "atleast tumari mom ki tarah Road trip ke chakkar mein, road ke beech mein chodke toh nai aya na??"

Rey stood up as he spoke, "Ye sab tumhari galti hai. Na hi tum trip pe ati aur na hi main yaha fasta!"

Taani frowned as she stood up, "Are you serious??? Actually!! meri nai saari galati tumhari hai! achi khasi train miss ho rahi thi us raat!! Tumne agar muje train me chadne ko help nai kia hota toh aaj story kuch aur hi hota!!"

"Woooahhh!! Tumne muje apna haath kyu dia??"

"Tum zabardasti ka mere friend kyu bane?"

"Tumne mera friendship accept kyu kia?"

"Tum zorbing karte waqt mere upar kyu gire??aur muje ghur kyu rahe the?"

"Tumne sunrise dekhte waqt mera haath pakadke mere khando pe apna surr kyu rakha tha?"

"Main paani mein dub rahi thi right?? itna risk leke , mouth to mouth respiration deke muje kyu bachaya?"

"Indrasan festival mein mere saath slow motion mein dance kyu kia??"

"Jab tumhare mom ke saath family picnic also called road trip pe jane ka plan tha toh muje kyu apne saath le gaye?"

"car ke bonnet pe baithke muje kiss kyu kia?"

Rey stopped right there as he realized that they were standing close to each other. Taani was just inches away breathing heavily as she stared at him right into his eyes, all irritated and annoyed yet venerable and extremely seductive. She was thinking of an answer and was about to speak out when Rey stopped her,

"ssshhh..." he kept his fingers on her lips as he didn't want her to speak anymore. He moved his fingers on her cheeks moving towards her chin. Slowly he leaned closer to her. Taani lifted her hands and pulled them up high to his shoulder. He moved his hands on her waist as he pulled her closer and nuzzled her noise before he pressed his lips against hers. At first it was gentle, as if they were afraid to hurt each other but with time Rey began to kiss her with so much passion making sure she felt the stars that were up high! She felt his tongue run across her bottom lip and she opened her mouth to let their tongues explore each others mouths. He ran his fingers through her hair and pulled her closer, before pulling away from her completely so they could catch a breath.

"Wow, what was that for?" she breathed, and put a hand to her tingling mouth.

And he just gave her the big, goofy smile as her answer.

They just stared at each other all blushing and smiling when the balcony lights turned on.

"Gaye nai ab tak?" Yelled Taanis father as he walked out the porch.

They immediately walked towards the gate,

"Sir hum tab tak yaha se nahi jayenge jab tak aap Taani ko maaf nai karte" Rey said as he caught Taani's trembling hand.

His dad stared at both of them in disgust as he nodded and turned to walk back,

"Sir aap bhi jante hai ki Taani uss shaadi se khush nai hoti!..." her father stopped as Rey continued, "Whats the point? Wo shaadi toh karti but puri life uske dil mein yahi baat rehti ki kaash mere dad muje ek baar samaj pate!"

He turned and faced Rey who kept his voice firm and spoke to the point, "Shaadi karna har ek ladki ka dream hota hai sir!, yeh toh usne bhi nai plan kia tha ki wo apni shaadi se bhag jayegi."

Taani kept looking at her father as Rey spoke, she could see the difference in his expressions, Rey defintaley was doing some magic there,

"Aap uske dad hai aur Taani humesha kehti hai ki ap usse sabse zyada samajte hai. Pure trip mein agar usne baat ki hai toh apke bare mein ki hai. Usne galati ki hai! main bhi use yahi kehta hu ki wo galat hai but agar aap aaj use maaf nai karenge toh Taani kabhi bhi apne aap ko maaf nai karegi. "

Her dad glanced at Taani who caught the lock of the gate pleading him with her eyes to open it. He walked towards the gate, looking staright at Rey,

"Tum uski itni taraf daari kyu kar rahe ho? Tum toh just friends ho right?"

Rey gulped out of fear, now he realized exactly whom Taani is like!! She's just as strong and firm like her father. Gathering all the guts from the deepest organs of his body Rey decided to confess his feelings for her,

"Juth bola tha...sach toh yeh hai ki Taani aur main Himalayan trip pe mile.." , he looked straight into her dad's eyes, "and I feel in love with her."

Taani's father took a deep breath in, "kaise pyaar kar sakte ho ek aisi ladki ke saath jo khud apni shaadi se bhag ke gayi thi?"

Rey gave a smile as he spoke, "maine Taani se pyaar kiya hai sir! Taani ke past se nai..." , he looked back at Taani, "Taani ko main samajta hu! Uska tarika galat tha par irada nahi! Wo harakate baccho jaisi karti hai par dil ki saaf hai. Apki beti bohot daring hai sir!"

He gulped as he continued, "Par Taani agar kisi se itna zyada pyaar karti hai toh woh sirf aap hai. Wo apki bohot izzat karti hai! Please Sir! Use ek mauka dijiye! She will never disappoint you again"

Seeing Rey begging for forgiveness crushed Taani's as well as her father's heart who released his breath as he blinked several times before finally opened the gate.

Taani shut her eyes and smiled as a tear rolled down her cheek. She caught Rey arms and was about to walk in when her dad stopped Rey by holding his shoulders,

"Tum ab andar nahi aa sakte."

Taani furrowed her eyebrows and glanced at her father, "Daddyji yeh aap kya bol rahe hai?"

He glanced at Taani and then at Rey and smiled, "Bilkul sahi bol raha hu. Rey se acha ladka iss bewakuf ladki ke liye muje kahi nahi milega aur Ab shaadi karne ke liye pehle uske maa baap se baat toh pakki karna hoga na? Jao apne maa baap ko leke aao! Shaadi ki taiariya karni hai!"

Rey felt as if a huge burden was taken off his chest! Taani's parents didn't only accept Taani but they accepted their relationship too!! He smiled as he moved his fingers in his hair. Her father patted his shoulder as he walked in with Taani.

Taani turned back several times looking at Rey! She was excited and happy! Her parents forgave her, they were happy with Rey and now they are planning to meet his parents. This was perfect, now she gets to marry someone happily!!

Just as her father shut the door, Taani's smile suddenly faded away. Her father wanted to meet Rey's parents! Means Mandy! And Mandy hated Taani and was upset with Rey! She covered her mouth as she realized that there was nothing to be happy about it. Rey had sorted out all her problems and now was left alone to solve the issue that she created for him.

She immediately opened the door and rushed out. But it was too late as Rey was nowhere to be found. She caught her forhead feeling all guilty about it.
