Chapter Eight

She was still against the shelves, Randhir's body pressed against hers, his fingers laced through hers... and she was quivering, aching to feel his touch after so many years. Her eyes were closed, and so was his. She could feel his lips approach hers, closer and closer.

It was almost as if a bomb had exploded within him as his lips touched her soft ones after so many years. Sanyukta struggled a bit under him, but he let go of her hands and held her cheeks in place as she gave up, surrendering to his touch.

Her lips parted on their own as Randhir slid his hand under her ear, and rested it on the back of her head. Randhir knew that that small action turned her on so much.

Randhir slipped his tongue into her mouth and her tongue responded almost enthusiastically, craving for something that had long been lost.

Finally, she broke the kiss and wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his chest as fresh tears fell from her eyes. Instinctively, he held her close too. Kissing the top of her head, he smiled a little as she pressed herself tightly against him.

This had been what bliss had felt like years ago. This was what he had been missing in his life... and it was all a faded memory, it was all a long lost dream... did that time in his life actually happen? What happened in between? It was like he had forgotten who he was, why he was here, and where he was going.

Sanyukta was dangerous... she always had that effect on him, she always made him lose himself in her presence.

He closed his eyes as he inhaled the scent of her hair, and it was momentarily, and perhaps by accident too that the name Sanu flashed in his mind.

Sanu... who was Sanu again? He was still in a daze as the memory of who Sanu was, his to be wife, hit him hard.

Then all of a sudden, he pushed her off as he muttered, "Shit..."

Chapter Nine

He turned around and was about to storm out of the store, when he felt her soft hand wrap around his wrist. He pulled his arm away from her grasp and exited the store without looking back, his heart beating faster than ever.

Randhir couldn't believe what just happened or what had hit him... he didn't know why he was so attracted towards Sanyukta despite that betrayal, despite the hatred, despite that painful separation, and above all, despite being tied to someone else.

He got a text, and looking down at his phone, he saw that it was from Sanu: Hey... want to talk on the phone tonight?

Randhir looked down at his phone and ignored the text for a moment, before feeling guilty and replying: Tonight I will be busy...

Inside the department store, Sanyukta was still trying to catch her breath from what just happened. She had sent him a quick text, trying to see what his mindset was about the kiss, and just like she had expected, he replied with a text that only suggested that he would be avoiding Sanu.

She replied to him as Sanu: I really want to get to know you and meet you...

His reply came almost instantaneously: Sanu we'll meet soon... don't worry.

She sighed and put away her phone before putting the packs of Ferrero Rocher back on the shelf and walking out of the department store.

She noticed Randhir's figure going down the escalators, and Sanyukta didn't know what hit her... she wasn't going to let him leave so easily. She ran down the stairs in an effort to catch up with him, and finally, met him at the bottom of the escalators, as a look of surprise took over his features.

Sanyukta grabbed his wrist and started to pull him towards the parking lot.

"What do you think you're --" he started but she had already pulled him out of the doors into the lot.

She dragged him towards her car and opened the passenger door, basically shoving him inside.

"What the hell," he protested, but she noticed that he didn't physically hesitate... just shouting at her meant nothing to her. "Where are you taking me?"

"Shut up," she ordered, getting in the driver's seat and starting the car, before driving away from the mall's parking lot. "We're going to my place... and we're going to talk."

"I am not talking to you," he said defiantly.

"Sure," she said with a slight smirk, "You can show me what you feel then."
