Chapter Seven

He watched as her hands shook... the pack of Ferrero Rocher looked like it would get crushed with the amount of force she was holding it with.

She turned around, her back to him and was about to walk off when Randhir grabbed her wrist from the back, stopping her from leaving.

He hadn't touched Sanyukta in so long, and the long lost familiar feeling of holding her arm came back to him. Back in FITE, he used to do this all the time... when she was angry at him, when she would say she had to go, when she was unaware that he was close.

She turned back around to face him, and one look at her told him that she was still affected by him. He felt nothing towards her... or so he told himself, he felt nothing at all... except hatred.

He looked around the aisle - it was nobody except the two of them. He grabbed both of her shoulders so tightly that she squirmed, and he pushed her against the shelf containing the chocolates, before bringing his lips close to her ear and whispering, "I don't know where you came from, but stay out of my way."

She struggled, trying to remove herself from his grip, but he pressed his body against hers, eliminating any possibility of movement.

"I don't know you," she muttered, still struggling.

"I don't care, I don't want to know you either," he told her through gritted teeth. "Just stay out of my way... I'm getting married. I don't want her to get any misunderstanding because of you."

He looked into her eyes, wanting his words to hurt her, and her eyes widened, as if she was shocked. He watched as she took a deep breath and looked directly into his eyes again.

"Good for you. Leave me alone," she told him weakly.

Why weren't his words affecting her like it should? It did look like she was slightly hurt, but told him to leave her alone. After years of not seeing each other, how could she so easily want him to go?

"I love her," he said, searching her eyes for something - anything, anything at all. "More than I've ever loved anyone."

He hated her. He hated her a lot, but she was so beautiful that he could get lost in her even today. He felt his lips being pulled towards hers involuntarily, like her lips were a magnet.

"Randhir," she whispered, his name sounding sweet.

He couldn't control himself.

Not when he was seeing her after years, not when she was so beautiful, not when he loved... no he hated... hated her, not when those lips said his name so sweetly, as if she was bringing back a long lost word.

He leaned even closer to her, feeling her heart beating against his chest. His hands slid from her shoulders, down her arms, and his fingers laced through hers as her eyes closed in response.
