Chapter One

"You're finally ready for marriage then?" Parth asked him with a raised eyebrow.

Randhir took another sip of his whiskey as he nodded, deciding that it was time for him to come out of his solitude and allow another woman into his life. It was time for him to get married. At least someone would look after his house and him.

"What kind of woman?" Vidhushi, Parth's wife piped in.

Randhir had nobody in his life. Just Parth and Vidhushi, his friends from college, and even they were so busy with their own lives that they only came and visited him once in a while.

"She needs to be able to take care of me and my house," Randhir told them. "Typical Indian housewife... someone obedient."

When he wasn't working, Randhir would spend his time reading... or he would write. Writing was something that he had gradually gotten accustomed to, ever since she left him.

"Hmm, okay then," Parth said with a smile, before he got up from the chair he was sitting on. "I'll see what I can find for you. I'll bring you pictures in a few days."

A hesitant Vidhushi stood up too.

"Are you sure you don't want to try and speak to Sanyukta again?" Vidhushi asked Randhir softly.

Randhir's eyes turned dark as soon as she said that.

"Don't talk about her Vidhushi," he snarled. "You know I hate her."

"I was just asking..."

"Don't ask and just do your job," Randhir replied arrogantly.

He knew he was being harsh on her. Vidhushi truly cared about him, but he just didn't like it when people spoke about her. He was reminded of hurtful memories of the past.

"Fine," Vidhushi sighed and grabbed Parth's arm. "Let's go."

Parth nodded and lead her towards the door of Randhir's house.

"Parth... wait," Randhir said.

They both stopped in their tracks and turned around to face him.

"Yes Randhir?" Parth asked.

"Make sure she's hot... she better be able to satisfy me at night," Randhir demanded, his tone cold.

Vidhushi gave him a disgusted look, but Randhir didn't care. He was not willing to make compromises with this... he wanted someone who would be able to keep him satisfied, or nobody at all.

A few hours later, Parth and Vidhushi picked up photos of possible suitors for Randhir. Opening the envelope of photos at home that night, with Parth lying down beside her in bed, Vidhushi went through the pictures one by one, until her eyes lit up as she saw a particular photo.

"Parth," she said, excitedly.

"Hmmm?" Parth asked, his eyes closed.

"Look at this," Vidhushi urged.

"Go to sleep Vidhushi," he mumbled.

"No... Parth, it's Sanyukta!" she said quickly.

"Sanyukta?" he asked, his eyes opening immediately.

He sat up on the bed and grabbed the picture from his wife. It was indeed Sanyukta Agarwal, their classmate from FITE, looking more beautiful than ever.

"This can't be a coincidence Parth, we have to make this happen," Vidhushi gushed, sounding far too excited.

"No way Vidhushi, he'll never agree, and we don't know if she will either," he said.

"He doesn't need to know," she said mischievously.

"What are you up to Vidhushi? I don't want to see him hurt again," Parth warned.

"This is going to make his life Parth, not break it. Trust me," she told him. "Now you go to sleep."

She pushed him down on the bed and leaned into him as her mind started to think of ideas to make this match happen.
