Love Will Set You Free (Attempted Poem)

In Marathi, there is a saying from a great saint who said "Disa maji kahi tari te lihave" Meaning one should write something everyday. This is yet another attempt. I am plagued with rhyming disease.😡

No more games and no more pretenses

No more love filled eyes to guilt my senses

It was all a sham, a game, a mere challenge

You are gonna feel it like some kind of revenge

I played with your feelings strumming them like a guitar

There can be no mafi to me, for giving you these scars

Your heart will be broken, you will feel betrayed

There is no easy way to do this, I have been astray

This burden of guilt is too heavy now for me to carry

I know I have hurt you and for that I am truly sorry

I have loved you even more than you will ever know

The very thought to go on without you feels like a fatal blow

I have to let you go, though my heart won't agree

I am grateful to you, your love has set me free
