Muskaan opened her big eyes to see her cradled in her mother's arms...

She hugged her tightly... "Maa... alabu... it'sh ok... Helo ne kaha tha aap upshet thi ishliye aap mujhshe nalaaz the... walna aap mujshe bohot pyaal kalte hai!" Muskaan looked at her mother with expectant eyes...

"Arjun ne kaha yeh sab..." She stroked her baby's hair gently as her child rested her head on Sakshi's chest...

"Haan Maa..." Muskaan hugged Sakshi tighter...

Sakshi was left in deep thoughts... she played with her child for some more time... till Muskaan giggled...

"Maa... bhuki lagi!" Muskaan said...

"Chal... khaana deti hoon... uffo... aaj school nahi jayegi kya? Dekh... 9 baj gaye hai! Pagli!" Sakshi held Muskaan's hands and took her to the table...

"Waise Musi jaan... Arjun tumhe tayyar karwaata tha kya?" Sakshi said... while serving poha in a pink plate...

"POHA!!!! Haan... Helo mujhe tayyal kal dete the!" Muskaan answered while eating her poha...

"Par yeh Arjun kaha gaya..." Sakshi thought...

She went towards the garden to find him sitting on the swing... lost in deep thought...

What was he thinking?

"Arjun... Arjun..." Sakshi shook him..

"Hmm..." Arjun came out of his reverie... finding Sakshi stare at him... her glowing face meant that she and Muskaan had made peace...

"Khaana lag gaya hai... poha... aa jao..." Sakshi said...

"I am full..." Arjun said and left... walking towards his room... leaving Sakshi perturbed...

Sakshi fed Muskaan and got her ready...

She knocked on Arjun's door... to find him working...

"Kya hai?" he asked...

"Woh... Arjun... Muskaan ko school drop karna tha..." Sakshi smiled... but it faltered seeing Arjun's stoic face...

"Shree drop kar dega..." Arjun said and returned back to working...

Sakshi stood near the door... her fingers were fumbling...

"Thank you Arjun..." Sakshi said softly...

"Hmm..." he replied...

Sakshi sighed... what mistake did she do that he suddenly turned so cold?

She walked out...

Arjun sighed and kept his laptop aside... why was it getting so difficult for him to ignore her?

Was Shree right? Had he started considering Sakshi something more than a friend?

No... that's not possible...

How... he couldn't just like that love anybody!

But she's not anybody either...

Arjun ran his hand frustratedly into his hair...

He's cheating Roshni... isn't he?

But why isn't he feeling any guilt?

Is he so exhausted in running alone that the first person to make him smile... he falls for her...

Muski too makes a big difference...

He wants to be next to this little baby for the rest of her life... as a father...

Arjun closed his eyes.. no... no.. this is not going to happen...

"Psst... meri jaan... guess who?" a voice told Muskaan...

Muskaan turned around to find Arjun near Shree's car...

"Jaane se pehle huggie kaise na doon tuje!" Arjun smiled...

"HELLLOOO..." Muskaan hugged Arjun tightly...

"Chal baby... bye... love you bacha..." Arjun waved bye and walked back to his house... waving Shree and Muskaan... little known that a pair of eyes followed him...

Arjun's stomach grumbled... oh yeah... he hadn't eaten anything since morning...

Hadn't Sakshi made anything?

He tip toes into the kitchen... knowing that Sakshi wouldn't be here he helped himself with a plate of poha...

"Yum..." Arjun thought and he devoured the plate completely...

"I am sorry Sakshi for being stoic towards you... par... kya karun... main..." he left his words incomplete and walked out of the kitchen...

As night approached Sakshi lit small diyas around the house... she was having difficulty in lighting them as she had to bend and keep them...

When Arjun came in silently and placed the diya down.. as the house was still bathed in darkness all he saw was her candle illuminated face... which held a thousand expressions..

Devoid any makeup she look so pure and sincere... he gazed at her face... for some reason the quieter Sakshi caught his attention in a manner he didn't want...

In a manner that... that.. shocked him...

As she smiled he stepped out of the trance... placing the diya down he silently helped her with all the other diyas...

"Thank.." before she could complete he left...

4 Days passed by...

Every single time Sakshi tried to speak to Arjun he replied as if she didn't even exist!

Sakshi started fidgeting...

"Mujhe bura kyun lag raha hai?" Sakshi thought... she was resting at the moment... she had just finished cleaning up her dressing...

"Kyunki before leaving you noticed him sneaking up to Muskaan every day and speaking with her... yet he refuses to speak to you..." Sakshi's mind answered...

"But why should I feel bad! He's no one.. bas mujhe bachaya, mera saath diya, meri bachi ko apna maana, mera dekh bhaal kiya.. bas aur kya kiya... kya kiya..." her words faded as she recalled him looking after her...

She also recalled the moment when he had sorted her anger for Muskaan...

Which was actually Saarthak's...

When his words wafted into her head... and now she understood their meaning...

He thought she thought of him to be Saarthak...

Like him he cares for her...

Like him he loves Muskaan...

But wait... he doesn't love her... neither Saarthak did...

Sakshi clutched her head... which confusion circle was she going into!

Argh!

She went back to a little memory between her and Arjun... and realized a terrible fact...

"Arjun..." Sakshi called Arjun as he was busy on his laptop...

"Hmm..." he replied.. his gaze stuck on the laptop...

"Arjun kuch toh baat karo!" Sakshi pouted...

"Kya?" he replied in a cold manner...

Sakshi stomped away angrily... she noticed Arjun watching her... before he left she clutched his wrist tightly...

"Yeh kya kar rahi ho!" He glared at her...

"Question right, insaan wrong, tum kya kar rahe ho! Mujhe baat nahi kar rahe ho! Mere paas nahi aa rahe ho! As if main koi untouchable ho chuki hoon!" Sakshi glared at him...

"You are not..." Arjun told her quietly...

"Then what is it Arjun! Mujhse kyun door jaa rahe ho tum!" Sakshi spit out the words and then looked at him in shock... sh*t... how does it matter her if he goes away from her...

He held her arm gently... "Tumhe iss baat se farak padta hai?" he asked her softly... the distance between them had reduced... no one knew who took the first step...

Sakshi bit her soft lips and turned aside... her heart hammering against her chest...

"Woh... mujhe..." Sakshi found herself at a loss of words while Arjun peered into her doe shaped eyes intently... she looked back with confusion... the... little distance between them induced something new in her... but she saw him shake his head...

"Mujhe kaam hai..." he muttered and sprinted off...

Sakshi remembered how terrible she felt... oh Lord... this must be... no... it can't...

She couldn't ignore the feelings in his eyes... was he.. but for her?

No... it's... impossible...

Arjun got up at the dead of night... he was tensed... within 3 days he would be leaving... yet... he didn't want to leave...

His heart was hammering against his chest...

In dino... dil mera...

Mujhse hai, kehraha

He crept up to Sakshi's bedroom to see her sleeping peacefully...

Tu... khwaab saja...

Tu... jee le zaraa

He went near Muskaan's bedroom to see her sleeping in her usual eagle position... he half smiled a little...

He went towards the garden...

"Roshni yeh kya ho raha hai mujhe? Shee ki woh baat mere dimaag se kyun nahi nikal raha hai? Kya yeh dosti se badkar hai? I don't want Sakshi to see Saarthak in me... par mujhe iss baat se itna farak kyun par raha hai?" Arjun looked into the starry sky...

"Kyun itna door ho Roshni? Mujhe kuch samaj nahi aa raha hai... I am scared Rosh... mera mann aur mera dil ek rhythm main nahi jaa raha hai... I don't know why I can't stop noticing her... mujhe please kuch batao Roshni... kya yeh theek hai? I am feeling guilty Roshni..." Arjun spoke... his voice was strained...

"Shayad kuch kehna sahi nahi ho raha hai... kyunki waise bhi 3 din ke baad... shayad main upar tumse milne aa javu? Pata nahi yeh mera Sakshi ki tarha lagau ek gustakhi ho rahi hai ya phir kuch jaani se anjaan dor... I know am going to tackle Sikandar in 3 days... and under any circumstance I don't want ki agar khwaab dikhau... toh main marr javu... jo nishchit hai... I don't know Rosh... what I am feeling for her... she and Muskaan have become one damned reason... ki main marrna nahi chahta..." his words were cut off as he heard a gasp...

He turned back as the thunder roared... the leaves rustled... Arjun stood in his place... he closed his eyes... no... no... not the person whom he wanted to be the last one to hear this...

As darkness loomed all over... yet he saw her shocked face...

She was wearing an off white kurti... her hair was tousled... she was looking at him... with shock and surprise etched on her face...

Arjun stood still... his face barely gave away any of his emotions... his hands were lying by his sides...

The wind increased her pace to a thunderous gale...

Sakshi's hair whipped across her face... he thin fabric of her kurti fluttered against the wind... the cold did nothing to her...

Even though it was darkness looming over she could notice each and every expression on his face... her heart suddenly started thumping against her sternum... the blood rushing against her body threatened to tear gush out of her stitches...

Arjun tried to take in a gulp... he wished she didn't hear...

He almost prayed to the Lord that he didn't hear... yet the softness on her face betrayed him of what he wished for...

"You are going?" were the only words her lips managed to voice out... even though there were 100 things...

He nodded... he was surprised at his own betraying heart when she took few steps forward... combing her hair away from her face...

He looked at her till she came as close as a breath's distance away...

"What do you mean ki waapas nahi aoge?" she looked at him... tears swelling up her eyes...

He tried to pose indifferent to her... Sakshi's eyes trekked his face... she could read what she couldn't fathom before...

Why would someone bother for her so much?

"Kyun meri parwa hai tumhe? Muskaan ki bhi parwa... kyun? Kyun mujhe theek kiya? Kyun khayal rakh rahe ho mera? Kyun mujhe comfortable rakhna tumhara priority ho chuka hai?" She voiced out...

"Aisa kuch nahi..." he lied through his teeth...

"Aisa hai Arjun! Arjun mujhe pata hai ki tum mujhse py..." Sakshi's words caught in her throat as Arjun's eyes met hers in shock...

She knew!

Sakshi stepped back... no... she can't love again...

I can't love anyone again...

She gasped... she spun around... yet her heart pushed her towards him... she walked away... hot tears forming on her eyes...

Her heart begged her to go back to him... who after many days opened up...

But... her mind was killing her... she.. she couldn't love again...

Her heart pleaded Sakshi to go back to the only person who would probably cherish her...
