Day Two: Part II

When Randhir went downstairs to take part in the first task, Sanyukta was already there with a blindfold in her hands. He walked up to her and snatched the blindfold from her before tying it around his own head. The last thing before he saw pitch black was a look of annoyance on her face.

As he was tying the knot on the blindfold, he felt soft hands reach up behind his head and goosebumps erupted all over his body - he knew it was Sanyukta. She tied the blindfold so tightly around his head that he nearly squirmed.

"Don't be an idiot," she hissed. "You've always had a big ego... listen to what I have to say."

He jerked his head away and walked forward, but Sanyukta caught his arm to stop him.

"This way," she ordered as she lead him.

He wanted to struggle and say that he was perfectly capable of finding his own way to the starting line, but for some reason, Sanyukta's touch, her words, everything about her sent him in a trance. He wasn't able to think straight with her so close to him.

Instinctively, he placed his fingers on her waist and felt her tremble.

"R- Randhir," she whispered, stopping on the spot and sounding confused. "V -Vardhaan sir."

"Nice try Farzi. I know he isn't here yet," Randhir murmured, bringing his face close to her hair.

Pressing his lips to her temple, he inhaled the scent of her hair. She let go of his arm, but his grip around her waist tightened.

He felt her trying to pull away, but he held her closer, until finally she broke free from his grip. Then Randhir sneered before walking towards the starting line by himself.

"Don't try and order me around Sanyukta Agarwal," he said coldly.

He could sense how offended she must have been when he said that and he knew that he was being mean, but what Sanyukta had done earlier was nothing short of being mean either.

"Good. Very good. Both teams are at the starting line," Vardhaan sir said, seemingly out of nowhere, "I've already explained the rules, but to go over them quickly: Your partner will guide the blindfolded one through the task - to find the parts, to assemble the machine, and make it work. The one who is not blindfolded cannot touch the parts or the station, and must stay behind the white line. Any questions?"

There was silence.

"Alright, then, you may get started," Vardhaan sir said. "Partners, lead your team."

"Okay, Randhir... go left!" he heard Sanyukta yell.

Extending his arms out to feel his way around, he turned left and continued to walk until he felt a table.

"The parts are there... uh... reach for the screwdriver, you can feel for it!" she said.

Randhir furrowed his eyebrows. Of course he could feel around for a screwdriver, he wasn't a kid who didn't have that much common sense. He didn't need Sanyukta telling him what he could or couldn't do.

"What am I making?" he yelled back.

If he knew what he was making, then he could figure everything out himself and he wouldn't need to follow Sanyukta's orders.

"AC machine," Sanyukta replied. "Randhir grab the screws with the screwdriver... they're on your right."

Randhir felt himself start to boil with anger.

"You don't need to order me around," he snapped as his hands reached around the desk to feel for what he had.

Picking up some wires, he started to connect them to circuits.

"What are you doing Randhir?" Sanyukta snapped, but Randhir ignored her.

"I know what I'm doing - you keep your mouth shut," Randhir snapped back.

"Randhir now's not the time to fight! Just listen to me dammit, do you want to lose to LITS?" she yelled.

"If I listen to you I'll lose," he yelled.

"You'll lose? Randhir what about me? Aren't we a team?" she yelled, equally angry now.

"No... you very well know that I could win this competition without you," he snapped back.

"Ugh you MCP!" she yelled, sounding frustrated.

"Farzi," he retorted coldly.

"I'm going, this is pointless!" she snapped.

"Go, nobody's forcing you to stay," he yelled. "In fact, I'll get peace of mind if you leave."

He didn't get a response - he assumed that she just left, and as much as it made him feel accomplished, it left him feeling empty at the same time.

As he started to build his machine, he realized that he was missing a circuit.

"Is there a place where I can get extra circuits?" he called out, silently hoping that Sanyukta was still there.

But he didn't get a response - the only thing he could hear was Dharam snickering in the background.

"Done," Dharam called out loud.

"Very good," Maya ma'am said, "LITS wins."

Randhir angrily took off his blindfold and looked around. Vardhaan sir looked at him with an extremely disappointed expression on his face and Sanyukta was nowhere to be seen.

He ignored the LITS boys snickering behind back and made his way towards his room. Opening his door, he realized that Sanyukta wasn't there. Of course she wasn't - it wasn't even like she had a key to his room.

Going next door to her room, he banged on the door loudly. An irate Sanyukta opened the door and glared at him.

"How could you just leave?" he yelled.

"Excuse me?" she snapped back.

"Because of you we lost the task," he snapped back.

"Because of me? You're such an MCP. You can't even take responsibility of your own actions!" she screamed.

He pushed his way into her room and slammed her against the wall.

"What the hell Randhir?" she asked, but there was nothing but anger burning inside of him.

She struggled against him but he didn't let her go.

"If you hadn't left, we could have won," he told her angrily.

"And if you had just listened to me, I wouldn't have left," she replied, equally angry.

"That's the problem with you women," Randhir snapped. "You always try to control us... you expect us to listen to you, and when it's your turn, you yell that you want freedom, you want independence."

She angrily tried to struggle against him, but he didn't let her.

"Randhir, leave me alone. Get out of my room!" she snapped.

"No," he replied, angrily. "Where were you this morning?"

Her face paled as soon as he said that.

"I told you, I'm not explaining myself to you," she told him angrily again.

"Then I'm not leaving you," he snapped.

"Shut up," she yelled, sounding frustrated - it was almost like she was about to cry.

Then, without thinking, he pressed his lips against hers with such force that she would have toppled over had there not been a wall behind her. He let go of her arms and cupped her face with his hands as her fingers slid up his back and rested on the nape of his neck.

"N - no," she whispered against his lips, but he didn't give her a chance to finish what she was going to say.

As she finally started to kiss him back, Randhir heard her phone ring and he took a step back so she could see who it was. Holding her phone, he noticed the colour leave her face once again. She adjusted her dupatta and ran out of her room.

He grabbed Sanyukta's room key from her bedside table and locked her door before running down the stairs after her, but she had already disappeared by the time he reached the hotel lobby.

He nearly kicked the wall in frustration - what was she hiding from him? Why couldn't she tell him directly what her problem was? What was going on with this girl?

Walking back to his room, he waited with the door open for her. The hours passed, but there was no sign of Sanyukta, and he knew that if she came back, she would need to get her room keys, which were with him.

Finally, when it was eleven at night, he texted her.

I'm going to sleep, your keys are with me, my door is unlocked... come in when you're here.

He received a reply straight away, which frustrated him even more.

Ok.

It was only about an hour later when he heard the door creak open. His eyes were closed and he was pretending to sleep. He could hear Sanyukta fumble inside her suitcase, probably for her night clothes. The next thing that he heard turned him on, but he couldn't react... he couldn't blow his facade that he was sleeping. She was undressing, right there in the room.

Gulping, he squeezed his eyes shut and pulled the covers up to his chin as he turned around on his side, facing the wall.

He could feel Sanyukta getting in bed next to him. Her hand wrapped around his waist, making his heart beat faster, but he didn't blow his cover.

She leaned over him and kissed him on the cheek, her hair falling over his face before she lay down beside him, her arm still around him.

He turned over, and she snuggled into his chest, as he stroked her arm gently. It was true that he was angry at her, but he couldn't help but love her. He heard her breathing slow down as she drifted off to sleep, and it wasn't long before he drifted off too.

I apologize for the late update. I won't try and justify it, I'm just very sorry! I will try and update more frequently now. This story is very close to my heart and it would kill me to not update it. I'm so, so, so sorry once again!

I also apologize for any mistakes, I haven't edited this chapter since I need to go, but I wanted to post this as soon as I could! I hope you're enjoying!

I am really sorry for editing late, just caught with some work.

And as for the update, do I even have to say anything? It was simply mind blowing and I am wondering, what exactly Sanyukta is hiding. I completely loved the update. And thanks for the pm.
