Sharman Joshi is still on for Golmaal 2. The last year's comic hit, starring Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi is being made into a sequel with the Securities scam as the background. News was out that Sharman is not interested in being a part of it with him now looking forward to concentrating only on serious roles. Iqbal star Sheyas Talpade was being considered as the replacement for Sharman's part for Golmaal 2.
Quashing reports of him being out of last year's comic hit, Sharman tells us, "I have not said no to the makers of Golmaal for its sequel. I am genuinely having a date problem and I am looking forward to finding a solution to it as soon as possible."
The Metro star continues, "I have had a great time working with the Golmaal team. Rohit Shetty (Director of Golmaal) is fun to work with. Why would I lose the opportunity of not working with them again?" But you had said a few months back that you won't be doing comic roles anymore? "I had said that I won't be doing just funny roles any further. I would also be open to serious roles like the ones I did in Metro and Raqeeb. Working in Rang De Basanti has changed a lot of things for me personally and as an actor I would love to explore various roles which I haven't attempted before."
Excited about the success and acclaim he got for his first serious role in Anuraag Basu's Metro, he says, "It feels really nice when you try something that you are never expected to do and get both appreciation and success for that. Metro will always remain close to my heart."
Not many know that Sharman's Metro part was first offered to Emraan Hashmi by Anuraag but he had declined it, following which it went to Sharman.
