Nisha laughed and both of them got in. Meet sighed in relief and looked at maan who shot her a glare...accusing that she had almost taken his breath away. Like she understood...she made a baby face and pouted, as if she couldn't have helped it. He sighed and led her in.

She took a seat beside nisha whilst he took a seat right beside her in the next column. The bus started and everyone was hooting and cheering...she had a wide smile on her face. She knew he was sitting right beside her and that this trip was going to be completely unforgettable for her.

She had never expected something could happen this amazing at the trip. The whole journey was fun filled with everyone singing...oops, howling songs and laughing and eating stuffs and what not. She laughed along with them but she never coud ignore that one person who sat beside her, watching her every move. Their eyes met and it was like sparks flying all around. Tingle on her skin, butterflies in her stomach and that slight blush. There was definitely something wrong with her today.

They had lunch on the way and everyone jumped on meet's lunch box. She managed to eat something out of it and rest were gone out of her sight. She enjoyed her friends fighting over food and got off the bus which stood near a dhaba. She stretched herself...just one more hour before they reached.

"here...take this..", he extended a bottle of cold drink to her.

Her cheeks warmed up just by hearing his voice. They were standing close while she took the bottle and sipped her drink.

He looked at her from the corner of his eyes and smiled, "waise aunty cooks really well.."

She dipped her head, trying to hide her smile, so he did taste. Well to be honest, her mother cooked just the bhature. She had cooked chole!!! Calming herself, she looked up to see his handsome face... he had the perfect features and his look was always so intense.

"thank you...", she spoke meekly, "glad that you liked it.."

He smiled and extended his hand to her, "may I?"

It was then she realized she had finished her drink and he was asking for the bottle to give it back to the shop. Ohh dear, he was indeed chivalric as people said. She gave him meekly with her heart fluttering. She was floored! Yeah she was definitely.

They were back on the bus with lot more energy and masti and reached their site by lunch 4pm. They quickly unloaded stuffs and set up their tent. The girls were given one side while the boys were given the opposite side. There was a stream nearby and the place was beautiful. It had a canopy of trees and if one went deeper into it, would fine himself into the forest. It was still bright when the girls decided to go for a walk dumping the dinner plans for the guys. The guys whined but the coordinator sided the girls.

Maan stood up, seeing her walk out of her tent, wearing a simple jeans and a red kurta. She still had her plait done and she looked super cute. He was sitting near the stream with his friends and got up to see what was going on. She looked at him, wearing jeans and only his vest and blushed, looking down. He was really well built and totally a hunk! So he maintained!

Nisha jumped on rahul, teasing him, "you guys have to prepare dinner till we girls go and have some fun."

Maan looked at her and just smiled seeing her excited about the trip. The guys protested but the coordinator wouldn't hear a word. So he guided the girls out towards the forest, instructing them not to wander afar while meet had that urge to just look back once and see him.

He watched her walk away, with slow baby steps and wondered what was wrong. She was falling behind everyone else. When she was a bit alone, she turned back and gave a sweet smile! That hit the right spot! The cupid's arrow struck him right on his heart! His smile was worth watching. The guys had noticed and hooted as well. She blushed a deep red and ran away to join nisha.

Maan was filling water in the jug when a thunder caught his attention. He looked up to see dark clouds gathering around and it was lightening. The wind had picked up speed. It was going to rain. It was dark already and the girls had yet not returned. He checked the time and then felt a drop of water fall on his cheek. Gosh..it would rain. He called the guys and asked them to call the girls on their cell phones so that they got back before they got stuck anywhere.

Within minutes it started raining and a few cell phones could be reached. It took the girls almost 15 minutes to come running back. Everyone retired to their tents only to panick. Nisha came shouting for rahul and maan. They panicked and rushed out.

"nisha.. what happened?", rahul was worried seeing her pale face. everyone gathered around and maan looked at nisha worriedly.

"wo.. meet... wo meet is not with us.. she is missing!"

"what??" the coordinator shouted, "did you see properly, she had come back with us right?"

Nisha had tears in her eyes,"yes she was with us but with the rain coming, we hurried up and then i think she might have lost her way in the darkness.."

Maan was shocked to death. She was all alone in this rain... gosh. He panicked but they had to do something. The coordinator quickly made a team of guys and rushed to look for meet while asking his assistant to be with the others. Maan's heart had almost stopped beating. He grabbed a cane and a torch and rushed with the guys to look for his sweetheart.

They walked in the rain, calling out her name. Maan just hoped wherever she was, she ought to be alright. As the search team moved forward, he didn't leave a chance for doubt. He double checked every nook and cranny to get a hint of her whereabouts.

"meet... where are you?", he called, along with the others. He walked slower than the others, holding the torch. He just pray she hadn't ventured deep into the forest. The team move in different directions whilst he moved towards the upstream.

"meet...meet...", he called loudly yet the thunder gave him a tough competition. He looked around the bushes when he noticed a sling bag on the ground. He immediately bent down and took a closer look. And it wasn't hard to recognise that she had carried that with her while was going. That means she must be somewhere nearby. He called out luder going further, checking every place until he heard a sob.

He turned back and directed the light towards the voice and what he saw almost made him cry. His sweetheart was drenched in rain, scared and cocooned under a tree, shivering. She held her legs close to her chest and sobbed, calling out for help. He immediately sat beside her and wiped her face, "meet... ohh god..what happened? Are you alright??"

His warm hands cupped her cold face and she dared to look up. The moment her eyes fell on his, an overwhelming feeling engulfed her.

Her lips trembled, "ma..maan..."

"yes meet... come on.. lets get back.."

He got up, holding her hand but she didn't. She was so scared. He realized that. He sat by her again and urged her to go but she seemed so scared to even move.

"i..i am sorry.. i wanted... to to see orchids an... and don't know how... am sorry..", she couldn't even speak properly and burst out crying. She was so scared of being lonely..in the dark!! Maan couldn't see her cry. He realized she was such an innocent soul. He held her close and then hugged her. He just couldn't see her so vulnerable. More than her, it soothed him. He knew now that she meant something to him.

The rains stopped in a while but she was not letting him go. She was trembling more out of fear than the cold. Maan sighed and pulled her away and wiped her tears, "now don't cry. Am here..see! its okay meet... you are safe. Lets get back to the camp. Everyone must be waiting."

She was still not letting go of him. He smiled encouragingly and gathered her in his arms. She, as a reflex, hugged him close and rested her head on his shoulder. He held her close to make her feel safe and walked back to their camp, sighing in relief. He was thankful to god that she wasn't hurt or anything. She was just too scared.

Everyone back in the camp was relieved to see her safe and sound. Nisha helped her freshen up and wrapped a blanked around her to keep her warm. As they sat by the bonfire, enjoying their dinner, he changed into a casual track and tee and sat right opposite to her. Their eyes met for a while in the flickering flames and they knew...this was here to stay. The feelings they had for each other was far too strong to deny. And when they'd get back to college, things would no longer be the same.

Meet waited anxiously amidst her friends. Maan had asked her to meet him inthe college cafe. It was the last day of their college. Things had indeed never been the same when they got back. It was not official but she liked him...a lot! And he did too. They had been to a couple of unofficial dates' and she had met his dadima and loved her as well. But today, he seemed a bit anxious.

He watched her from afar, holding his breath. She looked so pretty in her pink salways kameez and with a loosely tied pony. She smiled with her friends and he wished he could just see her like that for ever and ever!

She caught his gaze and waved at him.he braced himself upfor the final show down. And the next moment, every other girl around seemed to swoon in anticipation as he went on his knees in front of her and expressed his heart out.

"...and Meet, I want us to be together! I love you!"

She stood like a dumb witted moron unable to react. She knew he had something upon his sleeves but this???!!! Did he still need answers? Wasn't it evident in her eyes? She held his hand and nodded a yes with tearful eyes. From the next day onwards there was no college and their lives would change. But she was happy...just too happy.

Time went faster than ever but he seemed to be totally head over heels in love with her. She was a very innocent shy soul he had come to know. Its been two years of their relationship. She finished her phd and he took reigns of his business. They remained busy in their own lives but somehow managed to take time out. They didn't even see each other for most part of the month but he never made her feel that they missed each other. And this is what meet likes the most about him. He could just to go any extent to make her feel comfortable.

She recalled the time when they had gone for dinner date. He was supposed to travel to the US the very next day. While he dropped her at her place, he hugged her tightly, saying he'd miss her so bad. Things had been so smooth... as he leaned over for a kiss, she didn't know how to respond. She was a shy person. Hug was fine but she was kinda traditional and always the controlled one. She hesitated. He had faltered for a moment but held himself back, sensing she wasn't comfortable. He apologized and promised he'd never do something beyond her will.

She had cried in his arms that day. How could she have become soluckyto have found someone like him!!! She also recalled a time when they had gone for a movie and some guys had passed on lewd comments. She was scared but he had done a good job breaking their nose. He was always there for her..when she was upset with her results or when she had fight with her sister... she laughed! Both their families knew about their relation and none had a problem. The only person who had problem was her silly sister.

"you can't go like this meet..", he complained.

They had met for dinner and she proposed him her plans of going to the US for her research for six months!!!

"maan please...this is important!"

He held her hand and squeezed it and looked straight into her eyes, "Meet..."

"umm??"

"Marry me! You know i just cant stay away from you! I love you and i want you with me...forever!"

She was sweetly surprised when he asked her hand for marriage. Its been more than two years to their relationship and their families had started talking about their marriage as well.

"but maan... mera research... i had been working hard..", her eyes had uncertainty! What if he doesn't want her to go? What if he wouldn't like her studying/working after marriage but she had forgotten who she was dealing with!

"its just that meet i don't want to wait. You can continue your research even after marriage. "

She dipped her head...this man could do anything to make you happy! As mush as she wanted to be with him, her thesis had to be submitted at the earliest. She had already got notice from her university to join.

Hence, both the families decided to settle with the engagement. And when meet returned after six months, they will be married. The ceremony was just a small one with only the family members. Maan sat beside her, holding her hand as elders showered them with blessings and gifts.

"mein tho acha khasa shaadi kar leta tumse but now i hate your sister. "

Meet laughed at his plight, "maan... six months more. She is already upset that i am getting engaged without her. If i get married, i swear she will kill me. Plus she will be coming back with me after my thesis is done. She has strictly warned me and my family not to go ahead with the marriage thing until she comes back.. and you both havnt seen each other as well.. "

Maan rolled his eyes! Her sister studies in the US and madam wouldn't show her face. he had just heard of her in bits and pieces from meet and that she was much bolder than meet. As if he cared! But since he would be having a sister-in law, made him cringe. She sure was playing hide and seek with him and then postponing their marriage like this... he hated her guts!

"but that doesn't change the fact that i hate your sister!"

Meet gently pecked his cheek, "you will love her when you meet her. Her university doesn't give much holidays and thats why even i haven't seen her for the past two years."

"ask her to take care of my heart well or else i will kill her!", he mumbled.

Meet could just adore this man. He was everything a girl could wish for in a life partner. She just wished those six months to be over asap and that she became her maan's forever and ever!
