Shahid's recommendation lands Shraddha a role in Haider!!

Showing off her fingers, Shraddha Kapoor hopes Aditya Roy Kapur and she will always be close; reveals that on her insistence Shahid recommended her to Vishal for Haider.

Disclaimer: Shraddha Kapoor is battling a cough and that's the reason for the flushed face and not any embarrassing queries from us.

"It hits me at least four times a year, usually before a release," she complains, her voice husky but not unattractively so.

Her next film, Haider, will be unveiled in less than two weeks and Shraddha reveals that had it not been for Shahid's recommendation, she might not have been a part of the Indianised Hamlet. "I got to know that Shahid was doing a film with Vishal Bharadwaj. I was dying to do a film with Vishal and so I asked Shahid to put me through to him," she stops abruptly as mighty sneeze makes its way.

Picking up a tissue and the thread of the conversation Shraddha says that Vishal did audition her and also warned her that he would give her a lot of stress. She was ready for anything, even memorising Shakespeare. But to her relief she wasn't expected to go back to the play that she had read while in school.

Unlike her last two films, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villian, which revolved around her character, this was a more supportive role. "Haider is Shahid's film," she says without any trace of rancour. "I'm a part of the ensemble cast with a pivotal role."

Her's is not the title role but as Haider's love interest she has some intense intimate scenes. Did they make her uncomfortable? "If I had any inhibitions, I'd have put my foot down. But Shahid is experienced and protective while Vishal's aesthetic sense made the scenes romantic rather than sleazy. I was a bunch of nerves, but Vishal directed me with the patience of a monk," she smiles.

She has shot intimate scenes with steady date Aditya Roy Kapur, good friend Sidharth Malhotra and now Shahid Kapoor. Who is the best kisser? "God, I really haven't smooched them as such, they've only been pecks. All three are almost the same, I can't really tell!" she giggles off.

Apparently, Aditya has got the nod of approval from her parents, Shakti and Shivangi Kapoor...Instantly Shraddha clams up, "I'll only talk about my relationship when I think it's worth talking about." But buzz is, he gave her a diamond ring following a romantic holiday in Kerala. The actress holds out her hands and says retorts, "Do you see a ring? Now, if I was gifted a diamond, I'd happily flaunt it. Usually, I'm patient with all the gossip but this one really made me mad!"

"Aditya is really special," she stresses, insisting that Aashiqui 2 was a life-changer for not just Aditya and her but director Mohit Suri too. "I hope we always stay close," she says.

Following the recent floods, Kashmir, where Haider was extensively shot, is a state in chaos. Has she extended a helping hand? "I have donated a certain amount," she nods. So, is she ready to take on Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan, whose Bang Bang is also slated for a October 2 release? "I'm a fan of both. They look so hot together, who wouldn't want to watch them on screen? It's an extended weekend and I hope both the films do well," she laughs before breaking into a cough again. It's genuine but a cue to let the girl and her voice rest.
