PART 10

R: Par...
A: And I am not letting you go! Mujhe aur kisi baat se farak nahi padta sivaai...
R: Agar tumne contract follow nahi kiya toh vo tumhe chain se nahi jeene denge; yaha tak ki Dad pe bhi case kar denge! Un papers par tumhari signature hai Armaan try to...
A: Mujhe bas itna sunna hai ki tum mujhse pyaar karti ho ya nahi.
She cried out helplessly trying to make him understand that whatever she felt didn't matter any more. Nothing was in their hands anymore.
R: Tum meri baat ko sama...
A: Do you love me or not?
R: Usse koi farak...
A: Haan ya na?
He placed her hand on his head as she wipes her tears and with determination was about to nod her head.
A: Soch samajh kar jawab dena; tumhe meri kasam hai. Agar jhut kaha toh yaad rakhna mera mara hua mu dekh...

She placed her hand instantly on his mouth and gasped at his words.
R: Armaaan...aisa mat bolo please!! Agar tumhe kuch ho gaya toh main mar jaungi. Tum...

He smiled between his tears while she shut her mouth as she had already said more than enough!
A: Ab bhi kahogi ki tumhe mujhse pyaar nahi hai?
She grabbed his collar angrily removing her frustration on him. She was tired of it all and he wasn't of any help either
R: Tum kyu kar rahe ho mere saath aisa? Maine kya bigada hai tumhara? Kyun mere liye aur mushkile badha rahe ho Armaan? Kyun...Kyuuun?

She slid down on the floor and hid her face with her palms and cried to her heart's content. He sat besides her and tried to take her in his arms; but she kept refusing. But as she tried to get up he somehow forcefully pulled her and took her in a warm comforting hug whether she accepted it or not. Because he knew very well that right now she needed a shoulder to cry on; and when he was around why was there any need of anything else.
Tired of fighting and groaning she ultimately gave in as he pulled her closer caressing her back. She sobbed on his chest giving away all inhinbitions for once. Why was she always the one to suffer. Why could she never be happy? Why didn't she ever get to keep things even if they belonged to her? Why were people whom she loved always meant to go away?

R: I am sorry Armaan. Main shayad...tum mere saath khush neh reh sakte...we are not meant to be...
A: Yeh bilkul sach nahi hai Riddhima. Mujhse pooch; tumhare saath hone se badi khushi meri zindagi main ho hi nahi sakti! Aarav; Maa Dad wouldn't agree less on this.
Tum ne hum sab ki zindagi main itni khushiyan bhar di hai ki uska koi hisaab hi nahi lagaya ja sakta. Mera aur tumhara rishta; chahe jo bhi aur jaisa bhi raha ho; tumhe apne ghar aur parivaar ke saath kabhi koi bhed bhaav nahi kiya! Tumne mujhse ya meri Maa, Dad aur Aarav se jude sare farz nibhaye hai Riddhima!

He detangled her and wiped her tears making her face him.
Par mujhe sirf ek baat samajh main nahi aa rahi! Mujhe dhoka diya; jhuth bola; dhoke se mujhse contract sign karvaya; I can accept all of this! Par... Usne apni khudki beti ke saath aisa kyun aur kaise kiya?

She lowered her head as his question stung bad. All the memories came flooding back! He waited for her to answer as he knew it was difficult and hurtful for her too!

R: Armaan main...main Shashank Gupta ki...asli beti nahi hu! I am not his real daughter!

If Armaan had been thinking that atleast now he knew all the truths about her; then this statement made him come out of his assumption completely. He just stared at her as if she was some alien.

R: I am his adopted child.
He shook his head disapproavingly at the revelation; his every nerve poured anger against Shashank! Riddhima looked up at him not sure if she should bother to continue to which he instantly answered;
A: I am listening.

R: Main anaath hu Armaan. Padma Mom...matlab Shashank Gupta ki wife; unhe baby nahi ho raha tha. Tab unhone mujhe adopt karne ka faisla liya.
Par mujhe adopt karne k eek mahine baad hi Padma mom ko Samaira ki news mili; Papa aur Mom dono bohot khush de. Mujhe bhi bohot khushi hui thi ki ab mujhe ek chota bhai ya behen milegi.
Main din bhar sochti rehti thi ki jab mera bhai/ behen aayegi toh main kya kya karungi? Uske saath kaunse games khelungi...sab kuch sochne lagi thi. Lekin fir...
Jab Mom 8 and a half months pregnant thi; mere school main mera ek play tha. Vo play mom kisi haalat main miss nahi karna chahti thi. Par Papa ki kuch bohot important meetings thi. Is liye Mom akeli hi car main aane ke liye nikli aur...
Mom ka accident ho gaya Armaan. Bohot bada accident. Mujhe ab bhi vo din yaad hai; main school main stage se Mom ko hi dhund rahi thi; par vo nahi aayi. Play khatam ho gaya; sab chale gaye; fir bhi vo nahi aayi. Main bohot upset thi; par maine socha shayad kisi kaam main phas gayi hongi.
Mujhe school peon ne ghar drop kiya; lekin jaise hi main ghar pohchi toh pata chala ki ghar pe bhi Mom thi hi nahi kyunki vo...
tab tak...toh vo...is duniya...se hi...chali gayi...thi Armaan.
Samira bach toh gayi...par ...uski sir ke hisse pe chot...lagne ki vajah se...vo kabhi mentally poori tarah develop nahi ho paayi.

Unhe...unhe aana hi nahi chahiye ...tha na ...play ke liye...meri vajah se sab...sab galat ho gaya.

She said between her hiccups crying hard trying to hold her breath and speak out things that were buried deep in her heart for God knows how many years.

Armaan who had been silently listening to all this came out of his trance as he saw her trying hard to breath. Her sobs were making things difficult for her to speak. He couldn't inderstand whether he should console her or let her cry to let her pain out. But somehow after thinking for sometime he couldn't stand her crying anymore.

"Chup ho jao Riddhima. Please chup ho jao. Tumne kuch nahi kiya.Jo hua vo hona likha hi tha; us main tum kuch nahi kar sakti thi...

R: Na...hi Armaan...agar Mom nahi aati toh...
Uske baad Papa ne kabhi mujhe apni beti nahi maana. Main...maine bohot baar...maafi maangne ki koshish ki...par vo sunna hi nahi chahte the.
Par main...maine... sach maine bhi Mom ko bohot miss kiya. Us din maine unhe force...nahi kiya tha aane ke liye...vo khud aana chahti thi.

A: I know...I know Riddhima; tumhari koi galti nahi hai!
R: Par...meri hi vajah se Mom...
A: Shh...shh; shaant ho jao.
He rubbed her back and took her in a tight hug as her sobs grew uncontrollable. She hugged him tightly and held onto him trying to forget all the pain and let out all the frustrataion and sorrow hidden in her heart for years.
He kept cradling her in his arms to make her feel better. He was angry to see her in this state and after knowing Shashank's doings; would be an understatement for his state. As her sobs subsided a little he cupped her face and tried to wipe her tears; but the more he tried to stop the more she cried.
A: Dekho Riddhima; look up at me!

She just refused to look up at him as her sobs never ceased. She kept hiding her face in his shoulder and crying; but didn't know on her fate; her sufferings; or for the fact that he was completely unknown to the contract and was really a sweet heart who loved her back whole and sole; but she was going to lose him soon; this way or the other!

A: Riddhima chup ho jao baby; pleaseee! Shh...
Tumhari koi galti nahi hai. Tum choti se bachi thi Riddhima; what could you do to change whatever happen. Koi kuch nahi kar sakta tha.
Galti toh Shashank Gupta ki hai; jo usne tumhe jimmedar tehraya. He blamed you for nothing! Tumne toh kuch bhi nahi kiya hai Riddhima! Shant ho jao.

Aur rahi baat Shashank Gupta ki; toh use toh main nahi chodunga!

Riddhima wiped her tears and looked up at him as he said that. His every word poured anger and as she saw fire in his eyes; she knew that he wasn't going to let go off this easily.

R: Ar...maan tum kya...karne wale ho?
A: Jo bhi karu; use apne kiye par pachtava dila kar rahunga!
R: Armaan; ye mat bhulo vo mere Papa...
A: Please Riddhima; don't you dare give me that! Itna sab hone ke baad tum shayad use apna Papa kaho par he no more deserves to be called a father.
R: Par Samaira aur...vo contract...
A: To hell with the contract Riddhima! Do you really think I care?
R: But he can sue you...
A: I won't give him that chance Riddhima. Usne mujhe dhoka de kar bohot badi galti ki hai; and I will make him pay for it!
He caressed hr face and stared deep in her eyes;
"Tum tension mat lo; ab mujhe sab pata hai na. Main sab theek kar dunga! Don't worry."
Bas ab tum bhi rona band karo Riddhima; pleeaseee!
Main nbas ek minute main aata hu.

He took his cell phone and dialed a number. After talking for a while he came back to her and found her sitting on the corner of bed lost in her own world. He sat down on the floor in front of her and held her hand.

A: Riddhima; relax! I promise main kuch galat nahi hone dunga. Ye contract poora ho use pehle hi main is khel ko khatam kar dunga. Mujhpar thoda sa bharosa karlo.
Now come on get up aur chalo.
R: Kaha?
A: Hume ghar jaana hoga Riddhima!
