I was watching the episodes of Shyam's revelation in rerun.
While I was watching I felt a pang of pain for Khushi. How Shyam was insinuating her, humiliating her was unbearable to watch. And the whole Raizada except NK and Payal clan was watching Shyam's disparagement without saying a word. Even I was annoyed on ASR too. How he let Shyam talked so filthy about Khushi! When he uttered a single words to stain Khushi's character, right then he supposed to throttle him. But he listened all his profanity against Khushi coolly and just left him, by giving two slaps. I never thought ASR would've changed in that extent after the kidnapping track.

Next I want to butcher mami. How she was accusing her for having an affair with Shyam! It was disgusting. how she forgot her restlessness for Arnav so soon. How she forgot Khushi's disquietude, her desperation. How meanly she behaved with her! When nani went to comfort her, she even didn't let her to do so.
when shyam accused Khushi and Payal to allure raizada brothers, why nobody protested? Did everybody forget how Akash became desperate to marry Payal!
When Shyam accused Khushi to come in Raizada home making lame excuses, why nobody retorted back, that nani, Anjali, and later Lavanya also tricked Khushi so many times to come to Raizada house.
Shyam's disdainful words for Khushi proved his filthy intention. still Raizadas trusted shyam!
In this scenario, only one person I admired and that is NK. He was standing by Khushi all along.
I can't actually blame Anjali for behaving so selfish. She was in shock. Any woman in her situation can't think rationally. But I was terribly sad for Khushi. while she was sitting outside Anjali's room, she looks so derelict. A while ago she met an accident; she had fallen from the cliff and almost died. But nobody even see that. She rescued Arnav by risking her life, nobody even thanked her. Moreover accused her wrongly and giving her loathsome look.
Really, my heart ached so much for this young orphan girl, whose heart is made of gold.
i salute her courage and will power.

Sohara,
Agree with you. That Shyam accusations/revelation was the most absurd of all. Everyone there knew Khushi's fianc's name was Shyam. Anjali even noticed that Khushi was not really happy at that time. There is NO rationale what so ever for the Raizadas to let Shyam accuse the sisters the way he did knowing well as you rightly pointed, how akash was behind payal and how they were all desperate to bring khushi back into RM.
NK is the only one to be sane becos he was the only one to have been with Khushi through the tough times and saw Shyam's deplorable face first hand. Mamiji altho saw Khushi's concern for asr, (but was latter conveniently turned around to blame khushi) but for her both shyam and khushi could be equal partners in that divorce convo.
When khushi and asr entered the house, they didn't have a plan on hand to expose this criminal, that too asr asked her if she had any proofs?? Unbelievable!
ASR, I said couple of pages ago, our asr was kidnapped and NEVER saved again, The one who came back is NOT the one who wouldn't care for anyone/anything to do what he wants to. But in his defense, this is Anjali's husband, a big road block for him becos of Anjali's dependency on the former.. the very reason why he let this filthy man be inside RM till now..
Khushi, it was ridiculous to pitiable that it was all left to her to prove herself when she did no wrong. Nothing that she went through ever came to light really.. the contract marriage or being harassed constantly by a married man.
Payal, it was heartening to see her come to her sister's rescue. But she not sharing
with Akash is a blunder.
The entire way it played out was ridiculous... why no call to GH, call the gupta family, call Laxmi nagar residents.. they will have all the evidence against Shyam. Or even that lady that Shyam bribed for engagement ring. asr arranged for all this latter for Sheetal in seconds, but for the one that needed to be fully exposed.. there was none! Not his fault here.. he just came out of near death situation... but only writers'..
Absolutely agree that Anjali can't be blamed at this instance. Her state is understandable given Shyam's charms and her dependency.
She is the who is effected the most than asr after their parents tragedy. Most of the times she looked delusionally sweet and in denial...after coming back into the room after Shyam has been ousted, she said " I cant live without you".. that is a bang on line to describe anjali...she didn't say I cant believe you did all this or I know you are Godly. nothing of that sort... she is emotionally dependent on him to an extent to overlook his utter depravity. she needs him.. that's it..
Lastly, my own delusion, I felt super bad that asr didn't get any attention what so ever after coming back home after spending 2 months in near death situation.. no one seem to have cared that the man who almost sleeps in formal attire came back home like a homeless...couldn't they have spent 1/2 epis for every one to pamper him .. I wanted to...he and khushi neatly planning some thing and then the exposure. where is Shyam going anyway only to come back..
And, for all this trauma asr and khushi went through I wish there was NO feticide and that baby was around and kicking!!

Sohara Indu.. you all voiced whatever I felt.
Sohara your observation about NK standing up for her. so true.. And I get very angry at mami during this phase. I have not seen all the episodes to know the details, but once the initial shock of finding Shyam the culprit wears off atleast then she should have become friendlier with Khushi.

Indu.. nice catch.. yes that I cant live without him.. quintessential Anjali.. Even I don't feel as angry with her as with everyone else. Absolutely no thought was given to how people would react in this situation. My heart bled for Khushi and also for the loss of ASR and also seeing the tired ASR who still had so much fighting left to do. In fact he still has long battles to fight.

I may be wrong , but I do think the makers of IPK are plain and simple bad at such scenes. This scene and that over the top dramatic oust of Shyam the baby killer both were just bad writing. The dadi drama, Shyam on a rocking chair all badly done with no taste at all. Definitely to please the majority of the audience watching that want long dramatic showdowns with lots of atyachar on bechari heroine.

Sita had to go through agni pariksha and Ram could/would do nothing about it.. some things never change..

Khushi and Arnav will go into the room and a sweet scene with no words will play out beautifully. Is it the same people writing?

Rhea,
Interesting you brought up Sita, you might know the original name/ concept chosen for IPK was Vaidehi! We all waited the Viadehi would come now and then, even until the remarriage. But, good that it was changed as you rightly pointed the makers are not good at serious story telling. And they would have never been able to do justice to such weighty subject and a female lead character.
Actually the very first thing that for me interested in IPK was the initial montage where he in a suit and she in an yellow saree head to opposite directions. There is a classy, novel like feel to it.. I wanted to explore that. And I don't think the story ever delved much into that.. esp from the FL POV, a mature woman deliberately heading in opposite direction with the man she loved!

I actually wanted to share the last two beautiful back to back episodes on the rerun immediately after Shyam revelation. Such neatly packed 20 min each. One of the most beautiful episodes of the 398 I would say.
Only 4 Lions could have shown such subtlety and sensitivity. There were n't any high pitch convos as normally expected after such huge family debacles, That heart tugging music did most of the talking.. and two pairs of pain ridden eyes.. a very very special asr- khuhsi convo.. carried out without any words..
Did I ever see ache oozing from the face, eyes without the flex of a single muscle...

Indu and rhea, I have lot more to say on this topic. Will catch you guys tomorrow, as it's really late in my zone. Need to sleep.
Indu, love the edit. In this faulty track, asr and khushi's scene enthralled me so much. But I would rather loved it more, if asr would've lied beside her and loved her. I mean not make love, but love and care.

Episode-267

After entering the hut, frazzled out Arnav and Khushi feel a little succor now. But khushi gets scared in the dark room. She clutches Arnav's hand tightly. Arnav is aware of her darkness phobia. He wants to go to arrange some light. But Khushi doesn't want to leave Arnav's hand just for a moment. She also wants to go with him. Arnav makes her sit. He tells her to close her eyes and count till 10. He promises to come back by then. He smiles lovingly to see her innocent candor. She finishes counting and before she opens her eyes she calls, arnavji!

Arnav kept his promise and now standing right in front of her. He gives her a small pitcher. khushi gets ambiguous, what is inside it? When she opens the lid her beautiful face coruscates with bright light.

Fireflies...he says huskily. The lights of fireflies play chiaroscuro on his face too.

jugnoo...her luminescent face glimmers with a bright smile. But the fireflies fly away, what makes Arnav upset more than Khushi. How he can allay her fear now!

Pause: I never could imagine that a shrewd ruthless business man ASR can be upset to see the fireflies flew away. He didn't want his girl to get scared of darkness. Really what Khushi has done to him! He accepted it few days later in his telepathic convo with Khushi, "yeh kya kar diya Khushi tum mere sath!":

khushi doesn't want her man to feel low. She assures him that she is not frightened. Her look goes to the wound on his cheek. She dabs his wound with her dupatta. He gazes at her with eyes full of love and cares her errant tendril lovingly, what he always loves to do. When his hand rests on her shoulder, he feels that the sleeve is ripped. He moves away his hand quickly in embarrassment. khushi tries to cover her bare skin with her dupatta. Both feel a bit awkwardness.

Arnav sees that there some clothes are lying in one corner of the room. He tells her to change.

He hangs a red dupatta on a clothesline to give her some privacy to change. Though Khushi is his wife, but he just doesn't want her to change in front of him. He is a perfect gentleman and respects a woman's dignity, whether she is his wife or not. His tremulous hand spreads the curtain with coyness. He also took off his shirt, what was dirty. The air seems already fervent with passion. He sits down on the hay waiting for her to change and trying not to look at her. But her shadow of wearing clothes reflects on the wall, what makes him invincible not to look at her silhouette. He fiddles with the hay, tries to avert his burgeoning desire and asks her tenderly,

"You told me that you knew that I was not in Scotland. How did you come to know?

"I sensed that you are in some kind of trouble. When you called and told"...she can't complete. Arnav recalls his confession.

"mai woh...he is also getting hesitant in coy.

"Ha apne kaha ki"...she is also tizzy, removing her hair in embroilment.

Those Eyes Say It All <3

His look again goes to the shadow of her tying the dori of her blouse. His eyes get murky with desire. He veers his look down, swallows hard to control his desire. But his yearning can't keep his eyes away from her shadow.

Barun's yearning look, his expression even was making me aphrodisiac. How can a man give such sexy look!

He gets up to lower the flame of the lantern. khushi's beautiful hand draws the curtain aside and she comes in front him, in a pristine white chiffon saree with a red barely there blouse. Does this white symbolize virginity and the touch of red passion and love!

Khushi looks resplendent in the soft light of the lantern. Her luminescent eyes are framed by fluttering coy curtains of eye lashes. Even her long hair seems to be alive, shimmering with vitality as it flows down her back in dark waves of ebony. Arnav is completely besotted and enamored to see the ethereal beauty in front of him. He meets her eyes with confidence and delves into it; he is relenting in echo of a vague surrender. His onyx eyes roving all over her and finally rests on her eyes. He becomes completely hypnotized by the sexy goddess who is now igniting his body from its eternal heat. Her beauty is too enticing, he stares at her mesmerized unable to tear his eyes away. She is looking at him, doe eyed, a fire burning in them, drawing him involuntarily closer, as if he was hexed by her somehow.

One day in AR office, Khushi clad in red saree, bedazzled him in the same way. That day he couldn't enjoy her beauty that much, because there was too much animosity between them. He felt the same yearning that day also, but couldn't show it. But today there is no inhibition between them; he broke through all the walls he had built and now he is drawing to her like a moth to a flame.

khushi is fidgeting with shyness, trying to fix the saree on her shoulder. She is very much aware of her charm what is effecting on her husband dangerously now. She can feel his burgeoning desire and seems kindling something from her stomach seems to seep through her body, coursing through her vein and heating her up and effectively disable her tongue from speaking. All this feelings are new for her.

Arnav feels an all consuming molten fire igniting deep inside him. His tension, the fear of upcoming danger, all dissipates. He just can't think rationally, where is he, in what situation they are in; the deep visceral pull, the instant attraction only pervades his mind. He pushes the rope up and saunters leisurely towards her in a prowling manner. She steps back and after few steps, she gets stuck by the wall. Transfixed by the smoldering intensity of his eyes, her cheeks suffuses with warm color as a shiver of sweet anticipation runs down her spine. A deep throbbing starts up inside and she becomes extremely tizzy. She wants to flee from his yearning look, but he blocks her by keeping his hand on the wall. She tries to escape from other side and he also blocks her with his other hand. Her lips are quivering with passion. He wants to unleash his passion that had been bridled since the day she had fallen in his arm in sheesh mahal. A hot molten fire ignites deep inside her and her heart is lurching at the sheer enormity of his passion. He leans down to kiss her. But she is too demurring to surrender. She again tries to flee and he holds her hand and pulls her back. His passion today has spiraled towards zenith. I guess he was aroused since she was lying between his legs behind the card boxes.

He caresses her chestnut silky lock lovingly. He just loves her long shining hair.

He leans towards her neck and kisses on her shoulder. His hot breath and soft touch of his lips makes her shiver. She shuts her eyes with agitation.

In the dark wood, the 4 goons are groping them like crazy. After rummaging for a while one guy finds the blood stain mark on the wall and anticipates that they can be inside the hut.

Inside the hut, Arnav picks Khushi's trembling body in his arms and puts her down on the hay.

The air gets fervent with sensuality. I never saw such smoldering sensuous scene before in my life.

Arnav gazes down at her with eyes agleam with passion. A pair of somber eyes, with the soft twilight reflecting the flickering depth of it's caramel from them. His eyes are feasting on her beauty and swirling with passion too deep. Lava cascades down her spine to see his yearning gaze. Feeling a waft of his musky smell and the warmth of his body the fear in her heart is mixed with something else as her bosom heaves with her erratic heart beat. His own heart has picked up its rhythm, matching her erratic ones and beating in unison with hers. He leans down to kiss her. She shuts her eyes in anticipation and flips. The golden flame is emanating from the lantern makes his ripped muscle candent. He holds her bare upper arm. All semblances of reason and restraint flew out and passion reigned supreme as desire burst into life between them. His hand glides down slowly from her bare arm to her bare back and rests on the knot of the dori of her blouse. His eyes are turbid with undecipherable desire. Since the day he met her, he has been trying to untie her dori. Today when she became his own, how he can resist him! But he can't open the string, as they hear somebody's footsteps around the place. Both become aghast and alert.

Arnav helps her to get up. khushi just uttered Arnav and he makes her hush. He looks through the window to check. The goons already enceindred them. Arnav tells khushi that all of them are gunned. He wants to go outside alone to face them. Their interest is him, so they will not come in for her. But Khushi doesn't want him to go alone! She suggests him to elope by the window. Arnav can't agree, as he doesn't know how many people are out there and they all are armed. It is almost dawn and he thinks, somehow they will be able to catch them.

"No, I will not let you go alone"...khushi is obdurate.

"Just let me go Khushi."...Arnav also adamant.

Arnav now has to rebuke her with gritted teeth for not being stubborn.

But no avail, khushi will not let him go any how. She can't bear anything happens to him. The thought of their impending separation causes her heart, immune to all reason or logic. He now begs her to let him go. He is her savior. he has to protect her like a rampart from any danger. He just can't let those goons molest his beautiful wife. His eyes then go to a wood log on the ground and he thinks to make Khushi unconscious with this as she is not listening.

He hugs her hits her head with the log. Khushi faints because of the concussion. Her head lolls back. Before hitting her, Arnav says sorry to her.

"I know you will not let me go, that's why I have to do it"

"kiyu dard hain itna" intensifies in the BG.

He slowly puts down her unconscious body and covers with hay. His eyes are filled with contrition for hurting her fragile wife. He places his last kiss on her forehead.

Pause: It was BD in the scene. Barun actually didn't kiss on BD's forehead. He kissed on his own finger. The BD actually spoiled the mood of this epic consummation scene. But one thing satisfied me that no consummation happened and most of the intimate scenes were shot by Barun and Sanaya.

As long as Arnav finished covering Khushi with hay, Rocky with rest of the goons enter the hut. He points gun towards him and commands him to go with them.

"larki kaha hai?" They want to take Khushi also.

Arnav replies that he doesn't know.

"She is here somewhere, he is lying."

"She was left behind while we were running." ...Arnav replies.

They don't trust him. They think she is right here. They start to search her. Arnav's face gets taut in tension. He is not afraid of him, but he can't put Khushi's life in danger. When the goons were searching Khushi in the room, Arnav sees that Khushi's white saree is peeping out from the hay. He becomes nonplus, what to do. His tension increases more when one guy drops his match box right there. He goes to pick it up and says, he is lying, the girl is right here. For a moment along with Arnav I also skipped a beat of my heart, whether they saw her saree or not. Rocky becomes alert and points his gun more to him. The guy tells that she must escape through the window. Rocky tells him to check carefully. He orders Arnav disdainfully to go with them by holding the gun on his back.

Arnav's gaze falters a little, his heart lurches with scorching pain to leave khushi like that. But what to do, he doesn't have any choice.

The morning sunray peeps in the hut and on the golden hay. khushi regains her sense. She removes the hay from her body. Her head is still paining after the hit. She recalls everything, including the hit on her head. She is aghast, where is Arnav? She hollers his name, Arnavji, Arnavji. But he is nowhere. Her spirit sinks not to see him anywhere. Her holler echoes through the wood. She shuts her eyes with undecipherable grief, she couldn't stymie Arnav, she lost him again. Copious tears are coming out from her eyes. Her heart cringes with abysmal pain. Now she doesn't know will she ever see him or nor. She goes inside the hut with a broken heart, sits down trying to gather some courage to think what to do next. Her eyes then go to the pitcher, she recollects he brought fireflies for her in that pitcher. Her heart constrict with immense pain again,

"humne bachanae ke liye, apne apko uske hawale kar diye. kiyu Arnavji."

(To save me, you surrendered to those people, why Arnavji?)

Sad rabba ve plays in the BG to depict her sorrow.

The VM made by one of my best friend Arabela with one of my favorite song

Sohara,
asr not being able to lay down with khushi, he loved both these women immense, both very hurt at this moment, Khushi he could at least show his love and support where as Anjali, wouldn't even let him come close.. so his unease, guilt, urge to be with his sis is much understandable.
By that pool side when Khushi went, knowing his love for his sis, she wasn't even expecting him to pay attention to her at all, but he would hold her, pick her up in one fluid motion...and made sure she slept (or so he thought).. one breathtakingly beautiful moment I thought..
I totally empathize with khushi. But this particular moment she has her loving husband by her side, her constant harasser Shyam out of the house.. where as for Anjali her brother didn't really pay heed to what she wants, her seemingly doting husband ousted...she is in a much dire straits than khushi..
it was some real beautiful characterization where his need and urge to be both the women he loved was conveyed very well I thought..
