Randhir and Sanyu still love each other. Both feel as if they were betrayed, yet they can only imagine themselves with the other. They've tried to move on, but were not able to completely because they had never stopped loving each other. Though the story is sad right now, that's so beautiful.

She's in such an emotional mess. He hurt her bad, yet she loves him. She probably never imagined that she would have to track him down after all that.
As much as a reader, I want them to be together right away, I still know there is a long time to go before her wounds (and his as well) are healed.
Yeah... the wounds won't be healed overnight. 😭 She tried to move on with her life and destiny pushed her all the way down to the ground again.

Chapter Eight

Randhir grabbed her arms so tightly that she winced in pain, but he didn't let go.

"What did you say?" he asked angrily, pushing her against a wall. "You're marrying Parth?"

She tried to shake his hands off, but his hold on her was too strong.

"Yes Randhir, I'm marrying Parth," she yelled. "I've never been happier about a decision in my life!"

He let go of her arms and stormed out of his room, leaving her in shock. She fell to the ground against the wall as fresh tears fell out of her eyes. She had never wanted to hurt Randhir like this, but at the same time she couldn't conceal her own pain - she wasn't able to keep her suffering inside. He hurt her so much, and even if she tried to keep everything in, and despite her never wanting to hurt him, the words came out like a sharp knife and she knew they stabbed him really badly.

She brought her knees up to her chest and hugged them tightly as she continued to sob. When Randhir asked her to forget the past and start afresh, to be with him, her heart had leaped, and she almost said yes. But memories of the last five years flooded her mind - all the pain, the anguish, the names she had been called for giving birth to a child the world called illegitimate - all of those memories could not be erased, and she suddenly felt the need to hurt him, to make him suffer for her own misery, and now she felt worse.

When he entered the room again a few minutes later, his eyes were red. Seeing her on the ground, he walked up to her and looked down at her.

"Let's get this done and get out," he said coldly.

She stood up slowly and nodded. However much she had hurt him held no significance to their current situation - they still had to get done what they had come here to do.

He grabbed her arm and dragged her to the bed forcefully.

"Randhir?" she asked, shocked seeing this side of him.

He let go of her arm and she stumbled backwards, falling on the bed. He started to unbuckle his belt and suddenly she felt nervous.

"Randhir wait," she said.

He stopped what he was doing and climbed on the bed. She slid herself backwards until her back hit the bedframe.

"Sanyukta," he hissed angrily. "I don't have all night."

His words pierced her heart and she felt herself break down crying again. What had once been so beautiful and passionate for them was now turning into something they were doing out of helplessness.

He placed his hand on her leg and she glanced up at him hopefully, expecting him to console her. Instead he started to spread her legs, making her eyes widen in shock.

"Stop it Randhir," she said quickly.

He glared at her and she choked back on her words.

"What do you want from me Sanyukta?" he asked her harshly, leaning towards her and grabbing her shoulders, pulling her close.

She could feel his breath on her lips and she tried to move back, but she couldn't - her back was already against the bed frame.

"How many times has he kissed you?" he asked her coldly.

Before she could say anything to Randhir, he closed to gap between them and his lips touched hers, leaving her shocked. She sat there numbly, not registering what was going on.

It wasn't a kiss, it was just like their earlier brush of the lips, but this one held vengeance.

"Did he make you feel as good as I made you feel?" he asked darkly.

Before she could reply, his lips found hers again and this time the kiss was deeper - it made her shiver. Her lips responded naturally before she could even understand what was going on with her - it still hadn't forgotten the rhythm of his kisses. Their lips still moved together like a perfect melody.

She clutched his shirt tightly, her heart hammering.

The first time he kissed her with so much wrath was their hate kiss that they shared at the end of their first year - that time they hated each other with a passion and couldn't stand the other one. The second time he kissed her like that was during their placements.

"Why don't you let me know before you come over?" Sanyukta asked seriously as soon as Randhir stepped inside her place and handed her a box of chocolates.

It was their second time meeting since their placements started - the last time being two weeks ago when he had surprised her.

"Sorry, I like to surprise you," he apologized.

"I don't know why you always bring me things. Last time you brought me flowers," she said with a sigh. "I want to have stuff ready for you too."

He took off his shoes and as soon as entered, he noticed a man's shirt on the couch.

"Whose shirt is this?" Randhir asked, confused.

"Oh Parth's," Sanyukta said casually. "I told you that his place's water pipe isn't working right? So he's been coming here to take showers. He's in the washroom right now."

"You only told me that his water pipe isn't working," Randhir said calmly, but she knew his calmness was just a mask, and behind his mask was fury. "You didn't tell me that he's been coming here."

She grabbed his hand and pulled him into her room, closing the door behind her. After placing the box of chocolates on her desk, she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"It slipped my mind," she told him softly. "Sorry."

Then she leaned forward to kiss him, and as soon as her lips touched his, he grabbed the top of her arms with force and pulled her off him, taking her by surprise.

"Sanyukta, this isn't a small thing," he told her angrily.

"What's the big deal Randhir?" she replied, looking confused.

He held her against the wall and brought his face close to hers.

"Why is he coming to a girl's house to shower? Doesn't he have other friends?" he asked sourly.

"Randhir why are you being so possessive!" Sanyukta asked him, equally angry.

"Sanyukta because you're hiding things from me!" he shouted.

"Shh Randhir, he still doesn't know about us," she hissed.

She could see the effect that her words had on him - he grabbed her arms tightly and pulled her close to him, so close that she could feel his anger radiate off him.

"Are you joking with me Sanyukta?" he snapped. "You haven't told him?"

She held on to his arms and looked apologetically into his eyes. The reason she hadn't told Randhir the truth was because she really didn't want him to worry for no reason - if she told him, she knew that Randhir would have taken the first train to see her, and it was not simply because he was too possessive, it was because he didn't trust Parth. Not even a little bit. That was the reason that she had lied to him two weeks ago and hid the fact that she was playing in the rain with Parth - Randhir may have full trust in her, but he would never have full trust in Parth.

"Sorry," she mumbled.

"Sanyukta, let me go and tell him now. This is enough," he said angrily. "I saw the way he looked at you in FITE too. He wants to be with you."

Even today she lied to him that Parth was simply here to take a shower, when in reality he had spent the night at her place. He slept on the couch in the living room. Telling Randhir meant that she would be inviting trouble - she wanted to avoid it if possible, and she hadn't done anything wrong. She just didn't want to stress him out.

Yet, she felt guilty about lying to him and she knew that she was wrong - but for her Randhir came first, she didn't want his mind to be here while doing his placement. If he came to know that Parth slept over at her place and she was growing increasingly close to him, he wouldn't be able to focus on his job. She just didn't want him to worry about her.

Touching his cheek softly, she looked into his eyes.

"Randhir, I'll tell him today. I'm sorry. I just don't know how he'll react," she told him. "I mean he doesn't exactly like you."

Randhir just got angrier and gripped her arms more tightly. Just then she heard Parth's voice and she felt the colour drain from her face.

"Sanyukta thanks for letting me stay over for the night," he said from outside. "I'm going to go back home now."

Gulping, she looked back at Randhir with wide eyes, inwardly cursing Parth. He squeezed her arms and shook her violently, his anger beyond measure.

"He stayed the night?" Randhir hissed. "And you lied to me?"

She felt her eyes tear up. She never wanted Randhir to find out like this.

"I didn't want you to worry Randhir," she whispered with pleading eyes.

"What did you two do all night?" he asked darkly.

"Nothing Randhir! He slept on the couch. I know I didn't tell you the entire truth but Randhir, I didn't want you to worry!" she yelled.

"I don't trust you anymore Sanyukta," he hissed.

He grabbed the back of her head and forcefully brought her lips close to his.

"Did he kiss you?" he asked before pressing his lips on hers roughly.

She grabbed his shirt and kissed him back, pouring her heart and soul into the kiss.

His hands slipped under her kurti, sliding up her bare waist, up her skin before resting them on her breasts.

"Did he touch you?" he asked darkly against her lips as she shivered.

She didn't respond, her arms were still around his neck, her lips trying in every way she could to convince him that she loved him.

He pulled her towards her bed and pushed her down on it. She fell backwards on it as he climbed over her and pulled her kurti up from over her head.

"I love you," she sighed, as he slid her pants off before taking off his shirt, ignoring her.

Pinning her hands to the bed, he planted wet kisses all over her neck before his lips traced the path down her cleavage.

Her hands slipped in his hair. She missed him so much.

"What else did he do to you?" he asked, removing his belt and taking off his pants.

"Nothing," she whispered. "It's only been you Randhir."

He brought his face close to hers and his breath tickled her lips once again. She leaned up and kissed him softly, still trying to show him that she loved him and only him.

"I don't trust you," he replied harshly.

Suddenly she realized that he was serious and she tried to shake his hands off her arms but he remained adamant about keeping her down.

"Randhir," she said seriously, "I know I hid a few things from you, but they were for you. I didn't want you to worry..."

Before she could go on, he sealed her lips with a kiss and pushed his tongue into her mouth. Her tongue fought with his in this battle, and even while she wanted to clear this up and push him away, her body wanted him to stay close to her - it had been too long since they were like this.

He removed the rest of their clothing and then brought his lips to hers again. Her hands wrapped around his body and savoured the feeling of his body this close to hers - she knew he was angry, and he had the right to be. But right now, she wanted to show him how much she loved him, she wanted him to know that he could do anything with her and she wouldn't say a word against it.

"I love you," she murmured again.

"You're only mine," he muttered as soon as his body merged with hers. "Only mine. You can't be his."

His lips found her neck and she held him close to her, enjoying the feeling of having him like this. Once they finished and she had her arms around him, her head on his chest, she glanced up at him and saw that his eyes were wet.

"Randhir," she said softly, reaching up to touch his cheek. "I'm sorry."

He held her closer to him and kissed her forehead.

"No I'm sorry. I was harsh," he replied, sounding upset.

She smiled up at him, glad that he understood her.

"You weren't harsh," she said. "Randhir, you have the right to do whatever you want with me - and your anger was justified. I should have told you the truth."

"You care about me a lot, don't you Sanyukta?" he asked her.

"As much as you care about me Randhir," she replied, sighing happily.

"What else have you lied to me about?" he asked, his tone dark again.

"Randhir, nothing!" she replied seriously. "Why would I lie to you?"

He pushed her off him and stood up, pulling his clothes back on.

"R - Randhir?" she asked, getting up and trying to grab his arm but he swung it off. "What happened?"

"Sanyukta, I don't know whether to trust you or not," he said angrily and finished dressing up, before he left the room.

She slid her kurti and trousers on quickly before running after him, but he had already left. She took out her phone and tried calling him, but there was no response. Falling against the wall right beside the door, she started to cry - in all of this, she still hadn't told him that she had missed her period that month.

"Maybe I was wrong Sanyukta, just because Shraddha is my daughter does not mean that I misjudged yours and Parth's relationship," he muttered angrily.

She tried to push him off her but his weight was too heavy.

"How dare you Randhir?" she asked, still clutching his shirt angrily. "I thought you regretted it, but I was wrong."

"Did you ever regret lying to me Sanyukta?" he spat angrily, "You always lied about Parth. Always."

She felt guilt hit her hard - he was right, she did lie to him, but at least that was because she had his best interests at heart. He clearly didn't have her best interests at heart when he left her.

"I lied to you because I cared about you," she yelled, not caring that his face was so close to hers.

"You know what Sanyukta," Randhir yelled angrily, squeezing her arms so tightly that she winced in pain. "After this is done, you can go and marry Parth, I don't give a damn. I'm with Vidhushi too and you want to know something?"

He leaned in close to her, his breath tickling her ear.

"She's very good in bed," he spat out, his words stabbing her heart like the sharpest knife.

She felt her world come crashing down as she got stuck in her own trap.

But seriously. She was hurt, but this is like a blow under the pants. I don't think that she should just forget everything, because she has been through a lot, but she should also understand how she wasn't the only person to have gone through such hurdles in the past 5 years.

It's sad, yet amusing, that she is the one who insulted him and then felt worse about it.

I honestly wasn't surprised when Randhir said "let's get this done"

She's the one who wanted to just go through it, but he was taking it to the extreme.

I guess initially this whole part was quite a shock, but then reading the flashback and then thinking about this made it make sense.

I hate how she lied.. This time, I can't even bring myself to say silly girl.

I can see that Randhir had a reason. His accusation were not baseless, and Sanyu needs to get a grasp of that as well.

If only she had been honest. Things would have been much different most likely.

He doesn't trust Parth, but he does trust her. If she had just told him that she thinks of Parth as a really good friend. By lying to him, she's only making him not trust her.

And on top of that, she hasn't told Parth about her relationship with Randhir.

Damn. He's a friend. Nothing more. Why would his reaction worry her that much. It shouldn't. Not questioning her love, but it's just irrational on her part.

I could see this coming.

He can't just have blind trust on her :(

It makes me so sad to think that really, it is just a misunderstanding that Randhir has. He is probably thinking along the lines of Sanyu cheating on him with Parth. But that misunderstanding erupted from a lie which Sanyu told. It wasn't baseless, which makes it much worse. Just wasn't a good decision on her part to lie.

But I'm glad they're not just quietly going through this. They need to vent. They need to fight, scream, yell, get everything off their chest. More than having them end up together, I want them to reconcile with their pasts and, in the real sense, move on.

I'm loving how you're very realistic with your approach. Not a whimsical or fairy-tale story where things just happen to fall into place and "then they lived happily ever after"

The chapter itself was amazing, though quite dark as you described

But I enjoyed reading it!

It was real. It was not over-the-top, not cheesy, not extra. I loved it because of how real it felt.
