"Stand-up comedy isn't my profession" - Ketki Dave

She might have had the nation into splits with her signature act 'ara ra ra', but this time around Ketki Dave failed to please both the judges and viewers on Sony's Comedy Circus. The effervescent actor and her comedian partner Pratap Faujdar have been eliminated from the show; the episode will be aired on Saturday.

However, Dave isn't disappointed with the outcome, "I am not surprised that I got ruled out for the second week in a row, I found myself in the danger zone. Last week, I was lucky as poor Varun Badola was eliminated. But this time, I couldn't beat Kiran Karmarkar."

When asked about the reasons, Ketki simply stated, "Stand-up comedy isn't my profession. Our timing was faulty and more so, I didn't quite like the theme."

Not averse to comic roles, Ketki's ouster comes as a surprise to her fans. However, the actress thinks otherwise. "Unlike TV or films, stand-up comedy does not involve a role play. We just have to pick up the mike and start speaking," explains Ketki. However, all is not lost for this Gujarati actor, as she's banking on a wild card return in the show.

When told her about the goss that her partner Pratap Faujdar wasn't happy with the pairing, to which she replied "It was Pratap who insisted on having me as a partner, so this does come as a surprise. He never complained to me so I wouldn't like to believe it. I don't blame him or myself. All I know is that I gave my best shot and I don't regret it."

Her exit form CC has actually proved to be a blessing in disguise as she can now devote her time for her husband Rasik Dave's play 'Ek Chatur Naar'. "I was very busy doing my play, and shooting regularly for Kyunki…., thus I just couldn't get enough time to practice for CC." said Ketki.

Talking of Kyunki.., the actress is enjoying her comeback and showers praises on the new Tulsi (Gautami Kapoor).

Last seen on the big screen in Akram Sheiks's 'Love in Japan', Ketki says that she's currently in talks with a few directors for films but wouldn't reveal the content

cheers
