The Ungodly Hour

"RANDHIR..." , she felt a tear trail down her left cheek.She couldn't believe that she would ever cross paths with this man again.EVER.

"BOSS... You can call me Boss." , flaunting that wicked smile he was always known for.

Sanyukta was brought back into reality with the snapping of his fingers.

"Wha...What ? B..Boss?"

"You heard that right!"

"Randhir.Yeh kya mazak hai? Please." , she asked with a trembling soft voice.

"Tch..Tch..Boss it is ! Are you deaf ?", nudging her head with his fingers taking her by surprise.

"This company is mine now. I bought it overnight. Can you believe it? That's how powerful I have become." , he smirked. " I am not that same old Randhir you once loved.Or pretended to."

She stood there motionless , unable to think , her mind just froze at that one sight of him.

"Oh and I forgot to mention , you are fired too.Close the door when you leave." , he turned around grabbing a file from his table and engrossing himself in it.

"Randhir. Don't ! Please just don't" , staring at the floor lifelessly.

"Everyone starts fresh.The competent ones make the cut and stay.Others drown.Simple right ? Why should the rules be any different for you ? Who are you to me after all ? Someone special ? I don't recall anything."

He continued , " Hey ! You know what ? I have this perfect job for you.You don't even need to be interviewed for this.I can appoint you directly." , pretending like the idea just struck him.

" What are you talking about ? " , she looked up sensing something fishy.

"You !(pointing his finger) As my assistant.", grinning over his own idea."Quite a promotion right? CEO se directly CEO ki choti si assistant.", his tone literally dripping with sarcasm.

"WHAAT ? ..No ! No way." , she let out a fake laugh.

"You should be nicer to me Sanyukta." , cupping her one cheek with his hand." It is so incredibly generous of me to offer you this job."

That touch.It had been 4 years since she last felt him.But this time it seemed to lack the passion and love for her.It worked as a sense of fright, alarming her not to fall in his trap.

"You can't do this to me.I quit then." , she threw his arm off her cheek.

That certainly grabbed his attention.He felt her walking away from him as she headed towards the door.He couldn't let her leave.AGAIN.But this time for a reason which wasn't the same.

"Sanyukta ! If you walk out of that door today I will make sure you will be unemployed for the rest of your life.And I will ruin everything, you , your family.I will destroy you.You know I can do that.Don't test my patience."

And she knew he could.He was one of the most powerful men in the world and got everything he wanted within fraction of seconds.His words halted her by the door.She neededa job to service.That was the only positive thing that existed in her life.She desperately needed one.It was the only thing that allowed her to forget her past temporarily .Even though she was THE Sameer Mittal's wife , she knew he would never help her out with this.He was least bothered about her and didn't care if she worked or not as long as he was getting his work done from her, which apparently even she wasn't aware of.What was it ?

"Why are you doing this to me ?" , turning around to face him.

"Agar tumhe yaad hoga Sanyukta maine tumse ek baar kaha tha, Don't Mess With Me.'" , folding his arms and leaning on his table.

FLASHBACK :

FITE

She was leaning across the terrace platform catching the breathtaking view of the late evening sky.She was waiting for him, she needed him to know something desperately .That's when she felt two manly hands sliding along her waist from behind.She knew it was him just by his touch.He started placing multiple tiny kisses on the back of her neck.She lost herself in his love as her hand reached to caress his cheek as he rested his lips on her shoulder.

"Randhir... There is something I need to tell you."

"Hmmm.. ? ", continuing his trail of kisses sliding her kurti off her shoulders.

"I can't do this anymore." , she said softly.

He immediately stopped , adjusted her kurti and turned her to face him.

"Okay! You mean the kissing ? I mean I'll control myself next time.I am sorry." , seeming concerned.

"No I didn't mean that.How do I say it ? Oh my god." , she panicked looking at Randhir's continuously worried expressions.He knew where this was heading.

"It's not working out.You and me." , gesturing with her hands." I am sorry but I don't love you." , she stared at the floor.

"WHAAT ? I know you are joking.Tum mazak kar rahi ho." , he let out a laugh only to convince himself.

" I am not.I don't love you Randhir."

"Listen Sanyukta ! Just relax.I know you love me.I know you have never said it.But I know you love me.You can't do this to me. I love you so much" , cupping her face.

She tried to shrug him off , " Randhir ! Listen stop forcing me. Leave me."

Randhir didn't register any of that and tightened his grip on her trying to kiss and pacify her.

"Ran..Randhir I said LEAVE ME !! I LOVE SOMEONE ELSE !! " , she yelled on top of her voice.

And with that he let go of her.Almost immediately. He couldn't believe what his ears had just captured.He stood there still staring at her with blood-red eyes.A moment of silence had engulfed them.They could hear nothing but the sound of the loud wind.More like a storm which had just arrived to turn his life upside down.

He finally broke the eye contact which probably lasted for several minutes and took a step back.He turned around to walk away when he heard a loud laughter in the background.He recognized it immediately.He followed the source of the sound only to notice Sanyukta catching her stomach and loudly whiling away with laughter to such an extent that it became almost inaudible after a while.Randhir widened his eyes in shock confused as to what was happening.

"Sanyu.." , he walked towards her wiping his one lone tear.

"Randhir ... Oh my God ! That was just so much fun ! OH my God.I can't stop laughing." , pointing her hand at him almost losing her balance after that blast of laughter.

Her ceaseless grins were abruptly interrupted when she felt him running towards her and slamming her against the railing between his arms with nothing but Anger in his eyes.She didn't respond but just stared at him in utter shock.

"Randhir... I was kidding." , she said softly.

"Kidding ? Really ?" , still showing his furiousness.

"Ha..Haan" , she choked.

"Ek baat yaad rakhna Sanyukta.You will never fall in love with anyone else.You are MINE.Do you get it? YOU.ARE.ONLY.MINE.Okay ?" , cupping her face and warning her.The possessiveness and the authority he held over her was clearly visible.

" I LOVE YOU ! " , she finally whispered closing her eyes.This is what she was waiting to confess.

"Good.Because I LOVE YOU TOO ! " , he replied not losing his MCP attitude.

"And DON'T EVER MESS WITH ME like this Sanyukta.Alright ? I will never be able to live without you.I will die.You get that you silly girl?" , getting slightly emotional , scared of losing her forever.

"SSHHH .. " , she silenced him placing her fingers on his lips..

He held her hand and kissed her fingers.He entwined his fingers with hers and slowly placed his lips between hers, his other hand lost in her thick, lush hair.She pulled him by his shirt and allowed him to trace her lips with his tongue.Kissing weirdly was one of the best highlights of their relationship.They were Randhir and Sanyukta , born to be different.There was nothing that could break them apart but a certain something or a certain someone did.How did it happen ?

FLASHBACK ENDS

Sanyukta was brought out of her trance with Randhir's words.

"Maine kaha tha na don't mess with me. But you did. And I am back to make you repent."

"What are you going to do with me Randhir ?" , she asked , she was afraid of him now.

"The same.What you did to me and my family.I will make you SUFFER." , coming closer and closer. " I am back to make you feel the way you made me feel.I don't love you anymore Sanyukta. You put me through hell , you put my dad through hell ! He went to jail because of you.Really Sanyukta ? Really ? RAPE ? You accused him of ATTEMPTING to rape you ? How could you?"

She kept taking steps back with each and every word he was uttering .He was back with vengeance. To avenge for the injustice happened to him and his family.

"Did he ever even touch you Sanyukta ? IF he did where did he touch you ? "

"HERE ??? " , sliding his fingers down her arm.

"Or here?" , grabbing her waist.

"Did he kiss you here ? " , forcefully kissing her neck , " Tell me na Sanyukta."

" Randhir leave me .",Trying to push him away.

"Tell me.Tell me Sanyukta." , nearing her lips.

"Randhir !! STOP IT !!" , she was finally successful in pushing him away by stomping her foot over his.And she ran as fast as she could out of his cabin.

Before she ran away she heard him yell, " So tomorrow 9 am Sanyukta Mittal.Report to my office.And don't be late." , wiping the saliva off his mouth.
