Yes I know I'm late, I acknowledge that I am a terrible person. However, hopefully I will have the next chapter up soon. The reason it was taking so long is because I had the biggest writers' block after my exams that I was actually afraid that I forgot how to write. But seeing Zondra put up a chapter inspired me to write again. Also this is probably the second to last chapter. Thank you to everyone who commented and liked the last chapter. Enjoy :)
Chapter 36: Spoke Volumes
Present day
Karan flicked her forehead bringing Khushi back to the present. She gave him a disapproving look and he grinned back at her.
"You think too much." He said with a smile.
She struck her tongue out at him. "And you don't think enough and that's why I need to do twice the thinking."
"Very mature."
Just then Logan snuck into the room and quietly closed the door behind him. He hadn't noticed yet that Karan was also in the room. When he turned around, Karan looked at him with an eyebrow raised.
"Logan why are you sneaking in here like a thief?" he asked.
"Oh Karan, I didn't know you were going to be here."
"Mmmhmm and what would you have done if you had known?" he asked sassily.
"Umm uh umm well-"
"You know you're not supposed to be up here Logan."
Khushi slapped Karan's arm. "Karan, leave him alone. In fact, leave us alone."
Karan raised his hands. "Fine. But no funny business you two." He said in a mock serious tone whilst wiggling his eyebrows.
Khushi smiled and shook her head at Karan antics and then turned to look at Logan. "What did you want to talk about?"
"I wanted to talk about today."
"Oh." Khushi sobered. "What about today?"
"Are you sure about today? Because if you're not-" He paused and sighed. "Are you happy Khushi?"
"Yes." Replied Khushi honestly because she remembered what true unhappiness was and this wasn't it.

Logan ripped Karan off Arnav. While Karan was struggling to get out of Logan's hold, Arnav was standing there motionlessly.
"Karan, remember what I said about this being a hospital and the fact that they have the right to kick you out." Logan said with gritted teeth as he tried his best to restrain his friend.
"I don't want that motherf**ker to be here! He has zero rights be here. All he does is make me angry, besides that he's useless." Karan spat out.
Khushi finally spoke up. "Karan that's not fair, he does have a right." She said softly. She walked towards Karan and cupped his face, gently rearing his head so he would have to look at her. When Karan finally looked into Khushi's eyes, he calmed down almost immediately.
"It's alright Khushi." Said Arnav as he came out of his stupor. "I'll leave but please keep me posted."
He was about to leave when a doctor came rushing towards them. "Are you Ms Khushi Gupta and Mr Karan Malik?"
"Yes." Both Khushi and Karan said simultaneously.
"I've been sent to inform you about your daughter's condition. She's lost a lot of blood and on top of that, the bullet is very close to a crucial point on her spine. The surgery needed to take out the bullet will be a very long and delicate procedure. We're doing all we can."
"Will she live?" Khushi asked.
"They're doing their best to ensure that she does."
But the look the doctor gave whist saying those words spoke volumes and finally Khushi broke down.
Yes another announcement. I'm planning two different endings for this story, mainly because I'm not satisfied with one or the other and unfortunately I can't combine them. Hopefully I'll have it up by the end of this week.
