Success:Story on Kalpi[Rachana] last part on Pg 140 [30th july] - Page 76

Kalpi and Roy has come to the mess to have their breakfast.. Kalpi is wearing a long pink skirt with white tank top. A sports watch in left hand and few colorful rectangular bangles in right and long beaded necklace in her neck.. Roy looks at her mesmerized by her beauty.. All kids look at them and wonders who they are when Warden introduces Kalpi as their alumni and Roy as her friend.. They take lunch together when roy requests something to the warden but warden tells him to ask Principal.. kalpi wonders what they are talking about when roy tells her not to bother and he will tell her later... They have their breakfast.. kalpi enjoys it and remember her day.. She tells Roy that the days which she thought as the worst days were not really that bad and for the first time she is liking this food and the place... Roy smiles at her and says to stay happy like this and she will find everything good around her.. kalpi nods and says it's right.. U and Payal have taught me to see the brighter sides of the things.. She tells him to leave soon as she wants to show u the school before going out.. They leave the mess and goes to the school campus.. Kalpi looks at a boy trying to tie his shoe laces when she bents and helps him in it..

Boy : Thank u didi.. who are u?? Have u come to meet some student??

Kalpi : I am Kalpana.. kalpana Jadhav.. I used to study here and came to show my school to my frn..

Boy : Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav??

Kalpi : Yes.. but how do u know??

Boy holds her hand and drags her to the board.. She reads Board of achievement where her photo was pasted in the mid with National level debate competition Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav.. in small letter there was her other achievements as well.. Swimming champ and Head of the school. She becomes happy on seeing this.. Principal passes from there.. she stops to look at kalpana and recognizes her..

Princi : Kalpana.. The silent Topper..

Kalpana touches her feet and takes blessings..

Princi : U r looking very pretty.. Just like u used to look in school days but something has changed.. Let me see... Ohh the smile.. This pretty lady has learned to smile. Getting happy to see ur pic.. well u r the best student till date so urs name will stay here forever.. Not only on the achievements board but toppers list as well.. See there...

Kalpana goes to read the board.. Her name was on 6th number... Kalpana 2009 batch 98%. She traces her fingers on it and remembers the day when she was called to receive her award as best student of the year..

Roy meets Princi and introduces himself as Kalpi's best friend..

Princi : Hello.. So how u find our school..

Roy : it's Kalpi's school.. so it has to be best.. Can I ask u something..

Princi : Yes my boy.. go ahead..

Roy : Why u all call her silent topper..

Princi : That name was given by her maths teacher.. She was the most silent student of our school... She neither used to cry nor laugh.. just studying while sitting in the corner.. The only time u can see her doing some activity is the swimming classes else library was her home.. Once she wanted to take part in debate competition but we all laughed saying this silent student won't be able to speak a word on the stage but she proved us wrong.. She won national level debate competition.. She was always a topper in the class.. So we started calling her Silent topper..

Roy : That's great... Neways I wanted to take a permission from u.. I want to organize bonfire tomorrow in school playground with all kids..

Princi : Okay.. but make sure that everyone leave by 10 pm.

Roy : Don't worry we too will leave by 10.30 so time won't be a problem.. Thanks a lot..

Kalpi who has came to listen their talks smiles on hearing bonfire.. She remembers Payal and Roy talking about bonfire party they had, when she told them she had never seen bonfire in her life. She interrupts them and tells roy to leave and they leave..

Roy goes towards the car but Kalpi tells him to walk as she used to do in her school life.. They reache a lake which wasn't much away from the school.. The lake was beautiful with greenery all around.. Few benches were placed around it. Kalpi points towards a small house which is walking distance from the lake and tells Roy that she wants him to meet Amma..

Roy : Who is this amma u r talking about.

Kalpi : amma is my local guardian.. Unofficial local guardian and the only friend I have in this city. She is very sweet.. On weekends I used to come here to spend my time when Amma used to sit with me and chat.. I was always a shy person but she understood my silence.. I told u that I never had a friend in my school but Amma helped me in surviving those years.. Her son has gone out for some work.. He is a labor so Amma used to live alone here.

Roy and Kalpi reaches the place.. She knocks the door.. A young lady comes out and wonders who they are.. when Kalpi asks about amma. The lady tells them that she is her daughter in law and amma is in her room as she can't get up now. She calls them inside.. Kalpi looks at the house.. it has two small rooms and a kitchen.. Amma was lying inside the room on a bed..The bed was covered with net. She was looking very week.. Kalpi introduces herself and amma remembers her.. She hugs her but amma doesn't responds.. A tear come down from her eyes.. Kalpi wipes them and asks what happened.. Her DIL tells them that Amma has been paralyzed from last 2 years.. Amma cries and tells Kalpi that she can't go out now.. Kalpi can't control her tears and comes out of the house.. She runs towards the lake.. Roy stops her.. She hugs him.

Kalpi : I can't see amma like this.. That hostel was a prison for me and amma helped me to come out.. No one was allowed to go out without local guardian.. I dint had anyone so I requested Amma to talk to the princi.. Princi knew Amma and gave me permission to come out on weekends with her.. And now Amma herself is in that room.. She can't go out.. It's a prison for her and I can't do anything for her..

Roy wipes Kalpi's tears.. He keeps his fingers around her lips and tells her to smile..

Roy : U know I can't see u in tears..I can do anything for u... U know while crying U look like some Devil.. So stop scaring us and wipe them..

Kalpi smiles a bit on hearing this.. He tells Kalpi to come with him when she asks where.. He tells her to just come and tell him where the market is..They get back to the car and Kalpi guides him to the market.. He stops at some hardware shop and orders few stuff with instructions. Kalpi who was sitting in the car gets confused ... She steps out of the car..

Kalpi : What are u doing??

Roy : Taking Amma out of the prison...

Kalpi : How??

Roy : Uffo.. u ask too many questions.. U want to see Amma smiling and not to feel like living in the prison so leave the things on me.. u just come with me.

He orders the shopkeeper to complete the work by evening. Shopkeeper assures him that he won't get any complain. Roy tells kalpi to take him wherever she wants and they will go to meet Amma in the evening.. Kalpi takes him to the lake.. She shows him the places she used to spend.. They clicks few snaps together..

Kalpi : Do u want to see the kissing zone..

Roy : What kissing zone??

Kalpi : Yep.. Students use to go there for kissing..

Roy : Let's go than..

Kalpi takes him to the back of the school. They passes few trees and reaches a place which was fully covered by the trees.. Kalpi shows him the place and says this is the place where students used to come to kiss. Teachers don't know about this.. she shows him a tree which has few names carved..

Kalpi : See this.. some lovebirds even carved there name on the trees.. They think it will bind them forever..

Roy : So where is ur name?

Kalpi : I never kissed anyone..

Roy : Than how do u know about this place..

Kalpi : Just heard in the hostel and came here out of curiosity..U know one day I too thought to crave my name on the tree but than I dint had the boyfriend.. I was not that type of girl.. neways the point is that never kissed anyone.

Roy comes closer to her and says.."So wanna break the record today". He keeps coming closer but she pushes him back saying not to get naughty.. They go back when Roy tells her that he forgot something and will be back in a minute.. He reaches the place again and with his key carves their names on one of the tree.. Kalpi who was following him reaches the place and catches him doing so.. She blushes.. Roy turns back to go when she runs from there making sure that Roy doesn't see her. Roy comes back..

Kalpi : Where have u gone??

Roy : I dropped my key there.. just went to take it back..

Kalpi smiles in reply.. They reach the Venne lake for boating and fishing.. roy hires the pedal boat for the two.. He steps inside the boat and extends his hand to Kalpi.. Kalpi holds it without hesitation when boat loses balance and both falls in the boat.. kalpi on the top of Roy.. They both share an eyelock when Boatman interrupts them saying to come back on time else he will take double charge.. They get up on hearing his voice and nods in affirmative...They start pedaling together.. Kalpi remembers the day when she used to come here and sit in the motorboat.. Roy notices her lost in thoughts and splashes some water on her... She looks at him naughtily and she too starts spreading water in him.. He stops her by holding her hand.. They again gets lost in each other.. A sudden bolt of thunder interrupts their thoughts.. Kalpi hugs him out of fear.. He assures her everything is fine.. Announcement is being made to come back as whether may deteriorate in future.. They hurriedly leaves the place..

Kalpi takes him to some vendors to have the local food.. They enjoy eating them together.. By evening they again reach amma's place.. Roy has his ipad in the hand.. He tells Kalpi to take it and go to amma. Kalpi wonders what he is upto.. She steps inside amma's room and gets surprise on seeing it.. One wall was painted in sky blue colors.. Few clouds on it.. While others where green and blue giving it a look of some garden.. Few flowers were also painted on it.. Amma was smiling at looking at it..

amma : thank u Kalpi.. Ur frn did all this for me.. This room looks full of life..

amma gets emotional while saying all this.. Kalpi is really touched by this gesture of Roy.. when Amma calls her DIL and tells to switch of the light.. Kalpi looks at in amusement but than looks up and sees stars and moon pasted on the wall which gives the roof as starry look.. She remembers Roy saying.. "i can't see tears in ur eyes and can do anything for u". She wipes the tear of happiness that was about to come in her eyes.

Kalpi(to herself) : U hate tears in my eyes.. I promise I won't cry anymore.. Not a single tear coz of my past...

When she was lost in his thoughts.. She gets a skype call on the ipad.. It was Roy calling her.. She picks it when Roy tells to show it to amma.. Roy roams around the lake and shows the lake to Amma.. He sees a butterfly and picks it up in his hands and brings his cell closer to it.. Amma smiles on seeing this.. He pricks out a yellow flower and tells, "Amma this is for u, will u be my friend.. ". He than picks the Red one and says.. This is for.. Kalpi blushes and turns her face away from Amma but amma notices her smile.. Roy says, "This is also for Amma.. Amma will u be my valentine.. See how handsome I am.. still I do not have any girlfriend.. So will u be my girlfriend." Amma now laughs loudly and replies.. "I know for whom that flower was so no need to cover it up... She will be ur girlfriend.. I can read it in her eyes.." Kalpi disconnects the call on this tells amma to sleep now, she too have to reach school else Warden will kill her.

They reach back to the hostel and have dinner in the mess.. The food was not as tasty as they feel it is.. It was the feelings of their heart which is making everything around beautiful and delicious.. After the dinner they leave for their respective rooms. Kalpi meets the girl Ritu in whose room she was going to stay.. They chat a bit and after changing Kalpi stands at the window staring at boy's hostel.. She sees Roy playing with few boys.. It looks like they are playing table tennis with the notebooks.. She sits at the window and keeps staring at Roy.. Ritu plays the music..

Boondon ke motiyon mein ghulke ehsaas aaya
Waqt se nikal ke lamha dil ke paas aaya
Chhoo ke guzra tha par dil ko na mehsoos hua
Ab jo dekha to wo lamha dil ko raas aaya

Kalpi enters the room... Roy is still busy in playing.. She taps him on the shoulder.. he turns around.. They share an eyelock and hug each other.. Kalpi closes her eyes when someone taps her on the shoulder.. It's ritu.. She asks him whether the music is not disturbing her.. Kalpi nods in no and looks around.. She is still sitting near the window.. She blushes.. Music playing in the background..

Yoon.. kehte.. kal na paaun re
Dil ki baat mai hawa ke zariye pohchaun re
Ya khud hawa pe chalke aaun re
Tumse pyar hai ye khulke.. jinme keh paaun re
Lafz wo kahan se laaun re

Roy too has come on the window now.. The boys are preparing to sleep.. he looks at Kalpi and waves his hand.. She replies back with a smile.. They talk through their hands.. He asks why is she sitting there when she tells him she is not sleepy.. He shows her cell but she nods in no as using cellphone may disturb their roommates.. Lights has been switched off... Everyone sleeps except the two lovebirds who are lost in each other's sight.. Finally Kalpi calls him and whispers him to sleep as they have a long day ahead.. Roy wishes her goodnight and hangs the call when kalpi texts him thank u for the day.. Instead of sleeping they keep on texting till late and sleep while chatting.
