Snape(the braveheart) threatened to mix veritaserum in Harry's pumpkin juice to try and get out the truth, as he strongly suspected Harry for stealing polyjuice potion ingredients from his private stores.(Incidence from the GoF)

The pinky-pink too tried to use me as a bait,

but failed, as her prey had a clever trait.

Umbridge(the pinky pink) too tried to follow a similar style in order to cough up the truth of Dumbledore and Sirius' whereabouts from Harry(her prey). Harry, acting cleverly thwarted her attempt by pretending to drink (Umbridge initially offered him a choice among Pumpkin juice, tea or coffe and Harry chose tea) where in fact he later spilled the contents in a vase. (Incidence from the OoP)
