Hey Girls, I know I'm super late in updating this chapter. I had decided to post this chapter last week but it was incomplete (which I completed today). But some things held me up in the previous week. But now here is the 5th chapter! Enjoy reading and do give your priceless views!😳

Chapter-5

Khushi completed the morning rituals soon and also got Ansh ready as she had decided that she would take him with her to the office today too. Payal was dozing off in her room as she was suffering from jetlag. Yesterday's events had filled her mind with insecurities. She can't keep him away from her. He was her life. It was just a week left for Ansh to start his pre-school. So for the whole week she would take him with her. Ansh always created a fuss during his breakfast and always made Khushi run behind him. He loved seeing his Mamma running behind him. He loved it when everybody around him gave attention. He's an attention-seeker. Khushi knew better, though. This quality he had received from his Dad, of course. Even Shyam Bhai was an attention-seeker. He loved it when he was cared by both the ladies in their house, Khushi thought with a slight smile. But Ansh completely resembled her Bhabhi in the matter of looks except his eyes, he had Bhai's eyes. But he smiled exactly like her, with full heart, a genuine smile. She was soon pulled into the past.

Anjali was a happy go lucky woman. She was beautiful, wise and very kind hearted. It was love at first sight for both Shyam and Anjali. Shyam was a year senior to her. They studied in the same college. After five years of dating secretly, they decided to make their relationship official. Khushi, a 20 year old then, was the first one to know and had been super happy about having a Bhabhi like Anjali. Anjali also found a little sister; she never had, in Khushi. Shyam had a decent job then, but they were not as rich as the Raizada's. Gupta's belonged to the middle class. But Anjali was least bothered about the financial difference between them. She loved Shyam immensely. Anjali didn't have father and mother in-law as Shyam and Khushi were orphans. They had lost their parents in a car accident when Khushi was 8 and Shyam was 14. It was after their parents' death, their Buaji had taken both the children under her wings. They had Buaji with them till last year when she had passed away. Now it was just Shyam and Khushi.

Anjali had a bitterer past than them. Her mother had commited suicide when she had come to know of her father's infidelity. And her father had followed the suite immediately due to his guilt. Anjali also had a younger brother, Arnav, who was the most affected due to these turn of events in their life. After their parents' death, their Nani had welcomed both orphaned siblings with open arms. Their Mama had financially supported their education, which hadn't gone a bit well with their Mami. She thought that her husband was ignoring his own child, Akash, for his dead sister's children. But Akash loved both his cousins like his siblings. Arnav was his role model. He kept copying Arnav's every action. Nani and Mama were glad to see this but this increased the hatred for Anjali-Arnav in Manorama's mind. Anjali doted on her younger brother. Arnav had a sharp brain, he was handsome too. But he was quiet as a child. He never had friends. The only person he was very close to was Anjali. He loved his sister more than himself. Anjali couldn't stop herself from talking about her brother.

Khushi was suddenly pulled into the present with a slight tug on her hand and found herself standing in the middle of the room with Ansh's cereal bowl in one hand and the other hand in Ansh's hands. She realized where she was and looked down at Ansh who was looking at her with a weird expression on his face which immediately made Khushi smile. "Are you angly (angry) with me, Mamma?" asked Ansh. "No bachha! Why would I be?" said Khushi as she bent down to Ansh's height. Ansh was about to say something more but Khushi took this golden opportunity and put a spoonful of cereal into his mouth. Ansh was flabbergasted and then saw a mischievous smile playing on his Mamma's lips and soon his little brain thought that it was Mamma's trap to make him eat. He frowned but finished his breakfast anyway. "Mamma,I'll make you run some more tomorrow!",he told Khushi with a mischievous smile when she made him eat the last spoon of cereal. Khushi gave him a i-know-it-all' lookand tickled him which filled their house with his giggles. Khushi then sent him to the washroom with the maid who would clean him up after their disastrous breakfast routine while she went upstairs to fetch her bag. When she came down, she saw Ansh in the kitchen saying Goodbye to all the servants in their house. It was a complete 5-minute job, he would say bye to each one of them and receive a kiss in return. Khushi didn't deprive him of any sort of love he received, be it from the servants of their house or her employees. So she didn't disturb them. She was moving towards the living room when she heard the doorbell ring. She knew everyone was busy so she moved towards the door.

Khushi then opened the door of her mansion as no servant of the house was available to do that.

But she was surprised to see the person standing on her doorstep. It wasn't like she didn't expect him to turn up but she didn't think that it would be so soon. It was just 10am for God's sake! She now had no idea as to what he would demand from her but she was determined to not let go of Ansh so easily.

"Uh...Hmm", Arnav said to get Khushi's attention, which seemed to be lost some thoughts after seeing him.

That seemed to gain Khushi's attention. "Uh... I'm so sorry! Please come in.", she said. Arnav entered the house looking around in admiration. The interiors were simple but lovely. Khushi saw him looking around in admiration and said, "The whole of interiors of this house was done by Bhabhi. It's still the same since she left."

Arnav looked at her and at that moment he came to know that she knew that he was aware of the fact that his Di was no more.

"Where's Ansh?" he directly asked.

His direct question startled Khushi. Before she could answer, Ansh came running out of the kitchen to see who was at the door and was also surprised to see his Superman's big brother, Annav uncle, whom he had met yesterday. Arnav then moved his gaze behind Khushi and saw Ansh standing there and passed a smile to his nephew. A layer of moisture in Arnav's eyes was not missed by Khushi. So she didn't say anything. She wouldn't stop him from meeting Ansh. Seeing Arnav smile, Ansh also gave him a big familiar smile which resembled to his Di's. Arnav soon walked towards Ansh, picked him up and dropped a long kiss on his forehead. In that kiss he poured all the emotions which he had been storing inside him since five years. Khushi smiled slightly after seeing the love Arnav was showering on Ansh. She was well aware of his love for Anjali. She knew what Arnav must be going through now as she had passed through the same phase 3 years back. "Hi Annav uncle!" , Ansh said while looking at his face. "Hello Big boy!" Arnav said, trying to control the choke in his voice and again smiled at him. Ansh saw tears rimming in Arnav's eyes and asked him, "Did you fall down Annav uncle?" Arnav shook his head negatively unable to say anything. "Then why are you crying? I cry only when I fall down. Mamma then says that big boys don't cry. You are a big boy so you should not cry." Saying this Ansh rubbed both of Arnav's eyes with his tiny hands. Arnav again smiled at Ansh's innocence and put him down. Ansh then held Arnav's hand and pulled him to the living room. He made Arnav sit on the big leather sofa and told him to wait and said that he'll bring a surprise for him. Arnav smiled and nodded at him while he hurried upstairs.

It was then Arnav looked at Khushi who was standing near the sofa with slight moisture in her eyes. After looking at Arnav now, she knew it was the time for confrontation. So she had already made a call to her office saying that she'll be arriving late in the afternoon. Just then the door bell rang and Akash walked in. Akash came hurrying to Khushi's house when he knew Arnav was here. Arnav had kept a note at his bedside when he left as Akash was deep in sleep. She knew today was the D-day. Now she had a most important matter in her hand to deal with!
