Here goes my second try

I am valuable yet violent

lest you choose to be silent

I will lead you to a place

which people usually fear

I shall make you think twice

before you come any nearer

Not many know my purpose,

that I was there to hide a disguise

but I shall permit thee

to temporarily paralyze me

it's the easiest riddle compared to what you guys come up with!🤣
